---Cross' POV----

I hummed softly, lying out on the sofa as I waited for my lover, Nightmare to come back from the kitchen with something that I could eat.

Call me lazy? No. I would go get some food myself. But, the fact that I have two children curled up on me doesn't help. Especially seeing as they're currently asleep.

I looked down at my second and third youngest children, Noah and Moonlight.

Normally the two of them are all over the place, energetic and loud. So having them calm and asleep is an opportunity Nightmare and I are not wasting.

I glanced over to my right upon hearing the shuffling of feet and instantly my face lit up as I saw Nightmare walk back into the living room, a bar of what looked like chocolate in his hands.

"Please tell me that's chocolate." I said desperately, staring at the wrapped bar with hungry eyes.

Nightmare smirked before bowing mockingly in front of me, before holding out a fully wrapped bar of milk chocolate.

I let out a muffled squeal, taking the bar quickly as I shifted cautiously. Moonlight and Noah slipped off of me a bit, now only trapping my legs.

Nightmare sat down next to me, petting the top of my skull as I leant against him and unwrapped the bar of milk chocolate and started to eat.

"How are you feeling, precious?" He whispered, hugging me gently to his chest.

I blushed, snuggling up to him as I nibbled at the chocolate. "I'm good, Nighty."

Nightmare kissed to top of my skull, reaching two tentacles out at the same time to pet Moonlight and Noah gently. They both stirred slightly, small smiles forming on their faces.

"Where are the others?" Nightmare asked, rubbing the top of my skull.

"Mmm...I don't know...upstairs?"

Nightmare snickered, looking at me with an amused expression on his face. "Some parent you are. You don't even know where your own kids are."

"Wh-What?! You don't know where they are either!" I cried, punching him weakly in the arm.

Nightmare smirked at me, stroking my cheek gently. "I don't count~"

"What why not?!"

"You two need to shhhh..."

We both blinked, looking down to see Noah looking sleepily at us. "You're not allowed to argue..."

I blinked before smiling reassuringly at him. "Don't worry, we weren't."

Noah sat up, narrowing his eyes. "But you were yelling at dad..."

Nightmare snickered behind me, obviously trying to hold himself back from bursting into laughter at how innocent our second youngest child was.

"Don't worry Noah." I muttered. "I was just telling him how much I love him."

Nightmare smiled innocently at Noah and nodded.

Noah blinked before giggling. "Okay!"

A groan to Noah's right signified Moonlight waking up with a small yawn, his mismatched pupils glancing around wearily before resting on me. "Hi dad..."

"Morning Moonlight." I whispered, booping him on the nose.

Moonlight giggled before rolling off of me, dragging Noah down with him.

They landed on top of each other in a small tangle of limbs, making both Nightmare and I laugh.

Seeing as they were off of me, I took the opportunity to move my legs. They had effectively gone to sleep, no feeling left in them.

Noah looked up at us from the floor, smiling innocently. "Guys...I've been really thinking about something...."

"And what's that?" I asked, not expecting what he'd say next.

"I want a sister."

Instantly Nightmare choked on air before bursting into hysterical laughter.

"No!" I cried. "No more children!"

Noah tilted his head to the side, blinking. "Why not?"

"Yeah Crossy~ Why not~?" Nightmare purred, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I yelped, my face flushing as I pushed him away. "I said four children maximum!"

Moonlight frowned. "...But there are five of us..."

At that moment our second oldest child, NiXss walked in. He had a wide smirk on his face, obviously having listened into the whole conversation.

"He said only four children. That doesn't mean they stuck by that."

I glared at him, earning a snicker.

Moonlight blinked in confusion, looking back and forth between me and NiXss.

"Where's Incubux?" I asked wearily, leaning back against Nightmare.

"Right here."

I looked over to the doorway that leads into the library.

Incubux, our oldest child was stood in the doorway, an unamused expression on his face as he looked over the five of us.

In his arms was our youngest child. Little Eph. (My ship child :3)

He looked at us with wide curious eyes, a small frown forming on his face.

"I think he wants his parents." Incubux said, walking over to us.

I sighed, sitting up properly so that I could take Eph into my arms.

Instantly he smiled, reaching up to boop my nose.

Eph was Nightmare and I's...unplanned child lets say.

I had stated very clearly to Nightmare that I was having four children at absolute maximum. No more or I'd leave him.

Well in reality I wouldn't leave him. I'd never be able to do that, but still.

Nightmare had agreed that we'd only have four as well.

But long story short...we both got drunk over something I can't even remember about and...yeah.

A few days later I found out I was pregnant. For the fifth time. (Yes cross is the mother to all of them. Deal with it)

I shook my head quickly, bringing myself back into reality as Eph gently nudged me.

"Hello sweetheart..." I whispered, nuzzling him.

He smiled, his eyes widening in excitement as Nightmare poked him with one of his four tentacles.

Eph reached out, trying to grab onto it. I laughed softly, watching his failed attempts to grab the slimy tentacle waving above him.

Eph is different from our other children, and not because he was unplanned.

Eph is mute.

From birth he was incredibly silent. Worryingly silent. We had him checked out at the nearest doctors and they checked him over to reveal that he's mute.

He won't ever speak. The most he can do is small noises such as the occasional giggle or sound of distress.

To be honest it just makes us love him more. He's so innocent and pure. Only two years old.

Worryingly he still hasn't learnt to walk yet. He's an amazing crawler, but the art of walking still hasn't came to him.

Eph let out a happy giggle as he pushed himself up, grabbing onto the tentacle triumphantly.

I smiled, petting the top of his white boned skull while he hugged the tentacle tightly.

Nightmare smirked lifting the tentacle so that Eph was lifted into the air. "Hello there little one."

I glanced over at the others, smiling as I saw that Noah and Moonlight were colouring with crayons on the floor, both in complete concentration.

Incubux was curled up on one of the sofas, reading a book.

Incubux was our only fully dark boned child. Sure Eph's arms and lower legs are black, but Nightmare says that doesn't count.

NiXss was curled up on the other side of the sofa, but he looked like he was asleep.

I sighed softly, snuggling closer to Nightmare as he kissed my cheek lovingly.

"Sleep Crossy..."

I shook my head, holding back a yawn. "I'm not tired..."

"Yeah, sure. Sleep."

"Mmm..." I groaned, hugging him as my eyes went half-lidded.

Nightmare chuckled softly, setting Eph down on my chest as he stroked my skull softly, making me purr.

I felt my hand self consciously hold onto my heart locket as I got comfy, feeling my bony fingers curl around the cold metal. I traced over the heart shape, listening to Nightmares gentle humming.

The locket used to have a picture of my old family in it, but that's been replaced long ago. I still have the original picture somewhere, but now in the locket there's a picture of my new family. Nightmare, Incubux, NiXss, Moonlight, Noah, Eph and I.

Everyone was smiling, crowded around me and Nightmare.

Also accompanying the family photo, us a silver ring. An engagement ring.

I keep it in the locket instead of wearing it on a finger because I'm terrified of loosing it.

Nightmare has one the same. He wears it on his wedding finger, but constantly has to clean it because of his slime.

I purred softly as Nightmare nuzzled me, chuckling softly. "Sleep Crossy..."

I let my eyes close and I nodded sleepily, letting out another small yawn before I felt myself drift off to sleep.

I woke up a few hours later to find a blanket draped over me and Nightmare no longer beside me.

I blinked sleepily, sitting up and shifting Eph, who was also asleep, off of me.

Looking around the living room I confirmed that all the kids were down here, and they were all asleep.

The faint sound of shuffling above me signified Nightmare wandering around upstairs.

He doesn't really need to sleep, so he must have left all of us down here while he did his own thing upstairs.

I hummed softly to myself, getting off the sofa and to my feet. I smiled as I looked at all my sleeping children. They all look so cute and happy when they're asleep.

I turned around, going to walk out of the living room and go upstairs to see what Nightmare was up to.

But I stoped.

A soft brush of air blew over me, making me shiver and go tense.

I slowly turned around, my eyes widening as I saw who was stood in the middle of the living room, gazing over my children.

"N-No..." I gasped, finding it hard to breathe suddenly.

They turned to face me, grinning that same awful grin I knew so well. The one that I saw in my sleep. The one that caused me to wake up screaming.

They let out a soft chuckle, staring right at me.

"My, my...look at all these children...it would be an awful shame if something...bad happened to them...wouldn't it~?"
