Countryside

I drew myself a new front cover :3

---Dust's POV----

I sighed, watching a little bird fly past, landing on the edge of the windowsill, where a small pile of bird food lay, waiting for a hungry bird or squirrel to eat it up.

Blue, who was curled up by my side with his head resting in my lap, was also watching the small bird, smiling as it started to peck at the seeds.

"I told you they'd like them..." He mumbled, hugging the cushion next to him up to his chest, burying his face into the soft fabric.

"Actually..." I nuzzled him, chuckling. "It was Sprinkle's idea."

Blue huffed, hugging the cushion tighter. "W-Well I was the one that said bird seed would work!"

I snickered, kissing his cheek. "I know Blue, I know."

He purred, snuggling closer to me, a satisfied look on his face.

I blinked. "Speaking of Sprinkle...where is he?"

Blue sat up slightly, pointing lazily out of the window. The bird was no longer there.

I leant forwards, my eyes scanning over the forestland out side, smirking as I saw our son Sprinkle sat in one of the trees. He was kicking his legs back and forth softly, a wide smile on his face as he watched a pair of purple-tinted butterfly's fly round in circles in front of him.

He giggled, looking over at us and waving as he saw that we were watching him.

Blue and I both waved back, smiling.

Sprinkle watched the butterflies until they were out of sight before jumping down from the tree, landing in a wobbly crouch. He smiled at us before starting to run over, skipping over the small little stream that runs past our house and up to the front door.

"Did you see those butterflies?!" He cried as he scrambled inside, jumping on top of both of us.

Blue squeaked, managing to roll out of the way just in time. I however, didn't have reflexes like that. Sprinkle landed on me with a giggle, making me yelp and jolt from having my breath stolen from my non-existent lungs.

"Owww..." I whined, making Blue and Sprinkle laugh. "You're crushing meeee..."

Sprinkle shifted so that he was sat on my lap, looking up at me and pouting. "I'm not that heavy dad!"

I chuckled, ruffling the top of his skull. "I know. I'm just messing with you, my little monster."

Sprinkle giggled, baring his teeth at me and growling. "I'm the scariest monster aren't I dad?"

I nodded, pulling Blue next to me so that I could cuddle both of them. "Mmm...the scariest of all scary monsters."

Blue laughed, nuzzling Sprinkle. "That's right, our little monster."

Sprinkle purred, smiling widely up at both of us. "I want a brother."

I choked and Blue squeaked, blushing. "Wh-Where did that come from?!"

Sprinkle shrugged, starfishing out across the sofa. "I don't know...I'm lonely...I mean like you two are great and all, and I love you and the attention you give me. Buuutttt...I would quite like another person my age around here..."

I chuckled, kissing the top of his skull. "You'd have to wait nine months for your brother or sister. Plus they wouldn't be your age then."

Sprinkle blinked before groaning. "I hadn't thought about that..."

Blue giggled, still blushing. "Yeah...you didn't really think that out Sprinkle..."

Sprinkle sighed, looking up at us from his starfish position. "What about your friends? The ones from that gang you used to be in."

I sighed, rubbing the back of my skull. "Well I haven't had any form of contact with any of them for...years..."

"But you must know something!" He whined.

"Well...I do know Horror and Lust are still in Craitown somewhere, those crazy shits."

Blue glared at me for my use of language, but Sprinkle just giggled.

"They do have a child...Desire I think he's called."

Instantly Sprinkle's face lit up. "How old are they?

I shrugged. "I have no clue. Probably like...eleven?"

Sprinkle blinked. "I'm nine!"

I laughed. "Well done."

"So that means they're around my age!"

Blue sighed, pulling Sprinkle onto his lap. "Well maybe one day we can go back to Craitown and see him. But we'd have to be careful, you know your dad is still on the run from the police."

Sprinkle tilted his face to the side. "But you're a police officer?"

Blue kissed the top of his skull, shaking his head. "Used to be sweetie, used to be."

"Oh..." Sprinkle sighed, going limp. "What about the others? I know there are more of them. I often hear you talking about them. Ink? Dream?" He looked at me. "Killer? Nightmare?"

I blinked. "You know all of their names?"

Sprinkle shook his head. "Only those ones..."

I leaned back, looking up at the ceiling. "Well Blue knows more about the first two than I do..."

Immediately Sprinkle looked over at Blue.

"Uh...well...I know Ink's still chief of Craitowns police force...he has...one or two kids I think? As for Dream...he disappeared from Craitown years ago, on a quest to find his lost brother. No idea if he's found the slippery octopus yet though..."

Sprinkle giggled. "The slippery octopus is Nightmare right?"

I laughed, nodding. "Yeah. You wouldn't like him. I'm sure  he hates kids."

"What about Killer?"

"Well...he wasn't with anyone when I last saw him...and he's not really the type of person to couple up with someone anyway. He's probably roaming the world as a single criminal still on the run."

"Oh. Okay."

I sighed, looking out of the window once more.

The forest surrounding us is beautiful, full of deer, birds, hedgehogs, badgers and pretty much any fairytale forest animals.

Sprinkle loves animals, and they love him. He can spend hours, sat by the stream with his feet in the crystal clear water as he talked to animals.

It would be a dream come true for him if one of them talked back to him, but that is yet to happen.

I blinked, frowning as I saw a shadow walking behind the trees a few meters behind where the forest starts.

They seemed to be floating. Their back was hunched and their face was hidden.

I got to my feet, glancing at Blue quickly. "I'll be right back..."

"I-Is something wrong?"

"No...I just need to check on something...stay here..." I walked over to the front door, stepping out of it quickly as I looked around. I narrowed my eyes as I caught sight of the figure again. It was making its way deeper into the forest, facing away from me.

I walked over, making sure not to step on any twigs or dry leaves that could make any noise to alert the strange person that was in front of me.

They kept floating along, muttering something under their breath.

I sped up slightly, trying to get closer so that I could hear what they were whispering.

"Mmm...children...tasty tasty children...I need them...they'll fuel me...tasty tasty children..."

I froze, my eyes widening in horror. What the hell was this guy on about?!

"Hey!" I growled. "Who the hell do you think you are?!"

They froze, letting out a dark chuckle. "Oh...its you...Dust?"

I hissed, summoning a sharpened bone attack in my right hand. "Who are you!? How do you know me?! What do you want?!"

They slowly turned around to me, their melted face moulding into a grin. "So many questions for such a small skeleton..."

I gripped onto my bone attack tighter, looking him up and down.

They seemed to be melting, a mess of odd glitches surrounding him, fizzing and moving. They were wearing what looked like something dark purple, white X's running across the chest.

They resembled a Gaster. An incredibly messed up version of my Gaster that I killed years ago.

I took a step back, my hand growing sweaty. "Wh-What do you want?" I repeated, wincing as my voice stuttered.

They grinned wider, their target symbol eyes looking behind me, back where the house is. Back where Blue and Sprinkle are.

He chuckled, his next words sending a shiver down my spine.

"Got any children to spare~?"
