Breaking and Entering
---Error's POV----
We stood in an alleyway just outside Craitown prison, putting our plan into action.
I know Ink said we wouldn't have a plan, but he said it would be best if we followed this bit with some clue of what to do.
"Right guys." Ink said, looking over all of us. "Killer, Dust come here. You too Pj."
I watched as Ink pulled out some handcuffs and before we could say anything he'd cuffed up Killer and Dust.
"Wh-What!?" Dust yelped. "A-Are you betraying us?!"
"No." Ink rolled his eyes. "I'm starting our entrance plan."
"By betraying us?!"
Ink shoved Dust towards Pj and grabbed onto Killer, ignoring the sharp glare that the mystery guy gave him. "We're gonna act as if we've just caught you, then we'll be able to walk right in with you, all the way to the cells before we simply un-cuff you and carry out the rest of our non-existent plan."
I whistled. "That's clever..."
"Thanks." Ink said, smiling innocently at me before shoving Killer and Dust forwards with Pj. "You guys will have to find another way in. Once past these gates your magic is disabled unless you have a special band on. I have only two spare, and I suggest that it should be you and Nightmare to wear them."
I caught the blue-ish bands I mid air, glancing down at them as Ink unlocked the main gates and walked through.
Nightmare walked over and took one from me, blinking. "So we just put it on our wrist?"
I shrugged, slipping my one on as I looked around. "I guess so...now we just need to find a way inside there..."
Nightmare looked at the building, blinking. "Follow me." He grabbed onto Cross by the wrist and started running around the outside of the prison until we reached the back.
There was another entrance round here, but it's rarely used, and rather stupidly, not as well guarded.
We skidded to a stop at the gates and crouched down, eyeing the four officers that were stood at guard. They were all talking to each other, joking and laughing.
Call me soft, but I'm hoping we can get through all of this by killing as little people as possible.
"What do we do now?!" I hissed, looking at the guards.
Nightmare ignored me, instead slipping off his wrist band and putting it on Cross before whispering something.
"Are you just gonna ignore me and carry out some plan without the rest of us?"
Neither of them responded.
"Thought so." I muttered, rolling my eyes as I stepped back, curious as to what they were planning.
Cross suddenly disappeared, using the band to teleport into the grounds.
Immediately the guards noticed him, pointing their guns at him immediately, clearly recognising who he was.
I blinked as Nightmare suddenly melted next to me, slipping into a shadow. I watched him slip through the gate and up behind the guards.
He reformed, grinning as his tentacles reached out behind each of the cops.
"N-Nightmare we don't have to kill--...them..." I winced, looking away as all four guards let out a strangled scream, having tentacles embedded in their throats.
They all collapsed and I watched as Cross walked up to the first officer and pulled out a pair of keys and a keycard.
He tossed the keys at us, and I caught them, immediately inserting it into the lock.
The gate clicked and I walked through, Gradient, Reaper Blue and the Mystery guy close behind.
Nightmare and Cross were waiting for us at the door, smiling innocently at us. "Took you long enough."
I snorted, indicating at Gradient to the password panel for the door.
Gradient quickly took the keycard from Cross and crouched down in front of the panel, pulling out some wires and stuff. I honestly have no clue where he learned to be a tech genius, he certainly didn't get it from me or Ink, I can tell you that.
Within a minute the door unlocked, making a heavy metal thump ring out before they slid open, showing the dimly lit corridor beyond.
"Nice work..." I muttered, stepping hesitantly in.
"Thanks." Gradient muttered, standing beside me. "I can really feel the magic blockers around here...it's horrible..."
I went say how I didn't feel any different, but then I remembered the band around my wrist blocked it off, letting me keep my magic. I watched as Cross passed the band he had back to Nightmare before attempting to summon a knife. Nothing happened. Some magic fizzed around his hand, but quickly died out to nothing.
"Great..." Cross muttered, hugging Nightmare's side. "We really are magicless."
Reaper snorted. "No, just you are."
Cross blinked. "What?"
Reaper held up his wrist to show a blue band on his wrist. I'd nearly forgotten that he was a cop. "Blue still has his." He pointed at Blue, who shyly showed us his grubby faded wristband on his arm. "And I'm giving my spare one to him." He pointed at the Gradient before passing him a band.
Nightmare hissed at Reaper before looking around. "What about that mystery guy?"
We all looked around, our eyes narrowing as we realised he was no where in sight.
"Shit..." I muttered. "He's done a runner. We should have known not to trust him."
"Forget him." Reaper said, pushing past as he walked down the corridor. "He's not important. Our objective is to get Geno and Fresh."
I nodded, following along after him with Gray by my side, Nightmare and Cross following with Blue bringing up the rear.
"Geno's cell is in C block. Which helpfully, is on the opposite side of the prison to here." Reaper said, picking a turning at a crossroads that split up in four different ways.
"Oh wow." I muttered, rolling my eyes. "What a perfect situation."
"Mmhm."
We walked down the corridors, making good time as Reaper lead us along past A block, past B block. We had just reached the cafeteria when we'd heard the sound of voices and footsteps.
"Go!" Reaper hissed, shoving all of us into the cafeteria.
I let out a muffled yelp, falling towards the floor. Just before I smashed my face into the wooden floor something wrapped around my waist, jerking me to a stop.
Nightmare placed me back on my feet, the tentacle around my waist loosening and letting go of me. "Clumsy shit."
"Thanks..." I muttered, peering out of the cafeteria doors as two cops walked past, both muttering to each other.
We waited for a good three minutes after they were gone before slipping out again into the corridor.
"Come on, were nearly there." Reaper whispered, urging us on round another corner.
No sooner than we'd rounded that corner I slammed into someone, the two of us crying out as we fell to the floor.
I immediately panicked, I had recognised a police badge on the person I had barrelled into. This whole rescue mission could be over before it's even started.
"Error?"
I slowly opened my eyes to see who I'd knocked over, only to tackle them down in a hug. "Ink!"
Ink laughed, hugging back. "God I thought you were people here to ruin our plan."
I chuckled, looking up at him. "I thought you were some other cops that would arrest us."
We both got to our feet, glancing to the side as Reaper pushed open the doors to the C block cells.
"C'mon guys. Geno and Fresh should be right through here. This really couldn't be going any smoother." Reaper said, walking through with the rest of us following.
"Where's his cell?" I asked, walking level with Reaper.
Reaper went to answer but Nightmare cut him off, hissing at us to stop.
"Guys wait!"
"What?" I blinked, looking back at him. "You scared or something?"
"No! Something's not right!"
Reaper rolled his eyes and continued to walk forwards before pausing at a cell. "Here he--...is..."
I walked over as he trailed off, blinking.
The cell was empty.
And that's when the alarms started blaring.
