CHAPTER THIRTY THREE: HYUNG

THIRD PERSON POV

"N-Namjoon... hyung?" Jungkook muttered as he heard Soujin's name utter them. And he looked at Taehyung.

"Taehyung, can you track Soujin's location right now? I think... she met Namjoon hyung," Jungkook said, and Taehyung cocked a brow.

"Are you sure? Namjoon hyung... is... there?" Taehyung said, and Jungkook stood up on his feet before looking at him.

"I'm definitely sure it's him! I'm going to go see him! I have so much to tell him!" Jungkook said, and Taehyung stopped him.

"W-wait! What about the plan? We can't be sure that you're safe!" Taehyung said, and Jungkook tsked.

"Is that what you care about, Taehyung? What about Namjoon hyung? Don't you miss him? It's been months! He disappeared without a trace ever since that day, so if you're ready to come see him, then don't hold yourself back," Jungkook said before running off, and Taehyung sighed.

"I... do miss him," Taehyung said as he stared at his figure, disappearing off the distance.

SOUJIN POV

"Y-you...!" Namjoon's eyes widened as he pointed at me, and I tilted my head towards him.

"Bae Soujin! Th-that person! It's really... you!" Namjoon said as he backed away, and his AI assistant DuoYi looked at me before looking up at her master.

"Master, please do calm down. The target is in sight, and your blood pressure is high," she stated, and Namjoon exhaled loudly as he looked at me.

"Leave this lab at once! This is prohibited for the likes of you!" Namjoon said.

"That's more of a reason to actually confirm that the LIVV is actually in here," I replied, and Namjoon's eyes widened.

"This is why I hate people like you, you're always such a pain to deal with, you don't even know your limits," Namjoon said as he clenched his fists.

"Mr. Namjoon, in all due respect, I don't even know you. What I'm doing is to save those who are falling victim to the LIVV drug! Don't you understand? Children are dying, they die a painful death without even knowing their future and passion, and all you're gonna do is continue to enhance this drug!" I replied, and Namjoon shook his head.

"People like you will never understand! I've known you, Bae Soujin. And my piece of advice is for you to leave all of this alone, because it's people like you who get hurt in the end," Namjoon replied.

"Now, the LIVV drug is confirmed to be here, but you... I don't want you to interfere with my plans. DuoYi, activate offense mode," Namjoon said before turning his back at me, not sparing me a glance.

Since when... has this Namjoon known me?

And why haven't I acknowledged his existence?

"Offense mode, activated. Laser gun target is now at Bae Soujin," DuoYi said and my eyes widened as I looked up at the ceiling, and laser guns were tagged towards me.

Suddenly, the door opened, and a figure ran in, panting loudly as he looked at the Namjoon's back, panicking.

"HYUNG!" He shouted, and Namjoon turned his head towards the voice.

"Jungkook... what on earth are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in jail?" Namjoon asked, as he signalled a halt towards DuoYi.

"Hyung, it's... really you. What.... happened to your eye?" Jungkook asked, and Namjoon looked down as he covered his eye that had been replaced with a robot's.

"That's nothing for you to know. You should leave, and leave me be," Namjoon said, and Jungkook shook his head.

"Tell me, hyung. What have you been doing? You left without a word, and... and we were all worried about you!" Jungkook said.

"Worried? But I'm definitely fine, Jungkook. You should go, it's too dangerous!" Namjoon said, and Jungkook clenched his fists.

"You.... you're selfish to think that way. To think that we haven't met for months and yet you dismiss us when we're worried about you! This place itself is dangerous hyung! So come with us!" Jungkook replied and Namjoon looked down, smiling softly.

"You don't understand. Your feelings to me, are useless," Namjoon replied.

"You, Bangtan.... this encounter we're having... is a waste of my time," Namjoon replied.

"Of course... I've known you for how long. But you're not the leader I wanted to follow at all, because you'll never be a leader to me, you're not... home," Namjoon replied and Jungkook's eyes widened.

"That situation last year, was all an order. An order that only involved you," he continued.

"If the others are fine, then I will be fine. But I will never send my regards to you, Jungkook. I know you want me to come back, but I don't see a reason why, but we will meet again, I do know it," Namjoon said.

"So when the time is right, once you've figured out this mess like I did, you'll finally understand. And so when that day comes, I'm hoping to meet you again. Afterall, with them... I am where I belong," Namjoon said, before facing his back towards us again.

"DuoYi, activate.... fire escape mode," Namjoon said, and DuoYi heeded as we suddenly heard sirens and fire alarms.

My eyes widened as I ran towards Jungkook, but he wasn't moving. He just stood there, with his guard down.

JUNGKOOK POV

I don't know what to feel.

Should I be sad, or betrayed?

It feels weird... because I wasn't mad at all.

I understood why he made that decision.

But somehow, there was another feeling I've never felt in a long time.

My chest hurt, and it felt like I was being ripped apart inside.

I was hurt because of what he said.

But my feelings never mattered to him, he always liked saying what he felt right to say.

"Jungkook!" Someone yelled, and I snapped back into reality as I looked at Soujin, and she shook my shoulder as she told me about the fire alarm.

Soon, I smelled smoke and burning wood, and my eyes widened as the fire started to surround us.

"Bae Soujin! Calling in Bae Soujin! There's a fire! Jungkook is there, isn't he? Both of you must find a way out," a voice cutted in to our earpiece, it was Yeonjun.

"We're trying to find an escape route, but everything is locked and close. The target ran away with no trace and the iron door is locked!" Soujin replied as she rammed into the door, trying to find a way to unlock it, but to no avail.

"Taehyung! Where are you? He should be hacking the iron door passcode at this point!" Yeonjun said.

"Taehyung isn't responding! Ms. Yuuri should be with him, but I'm not sure why they aren't responding! Something must be wrong!" I replied.

"Any news on Yoongi and Jimin? I also haven't seen them!" Yeonjun said.

"Jimin and Yoongi I heard were spotted by SAN. They're fending them off somewhere, so I'm not sure how they'll get out of here," I replied as the smoke started to occupy us even more.

Soujin coughed loudly, trying to hold on as she covered her nose, continuously tampering with the door code but to no avail.

"It's no use! Namjoon probably shut down the whole area, so we can't open to door or any of the appliances here," she coughed as she looked through the smoke to see if she can find anything.

Then, I sighed deeply, looking around with her as we tried to find an escape route, but everything was closed. This place was designed like an underground capsule. Enclosed as if no one should be finding this place.

I ran towards Soujin, before wrapping my arms around her, hugging her tightly with her face planted to my chest, to prevent her from inhaling any of the smoke as I closed my eyes shut, the heat spreading and the fire crackling as we both started to get dizzy.

"Soujin, if I die... I just want you to stay alive, alright? But I hope we do make it out together, it would... be a shame if I can't spend more time... with you," I said softly.

"You don't say that idiot, we'll both make it out alive!" She replied, as she tried to shield my nose from inhaling too much smoke.

"We better be. But in case we don't... I just want to say....
