Everyone Is Fair Game

This time, there was no stopping the huge group of excited students to stampede toward the sound. The sound of running footsteps grew louder as the anticipation began to set in. How do they know there's not a murderer, and they're not just running into him, like lambs to a slaughter? Oh well, guess there is only one way to find out. They turned a corner, and there was a sight awaiting their arrival. Everyone gasped, but Raven, being the abnormally short high schooler, could not see past the seemingly thousands of terrified faces. She managed to push past the crowd of giants, saw something that seemed like what you would find in a horror movie. The mangled body of one of her many classmates. her blonde hair was spread out on the floor like water from a fountain. "There has to be some kind of reason.. there has to be a clue.." Raven muttered to herself, and it was completely inaudible over the other panicking students.

She spotted it. Right behind the body was a flash of yellow.. a corner of some kind of paper. A note.

Raven started walking. People stared at her like she had three heads, but the person who did this wants to tell them something, and she wants to find out what. "RAVE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She hears Ash yell over the crowd. Raven pushes the question out of her mind, just as she did with the questioning looks of other students. Despite the smell, Raven picked up the note, which had a smear of blood on the corner. It was a sticky note.

"Look, guys. It's a message. Probably from the person who did this." She raises the note so people can see. She read it over.

Ah, so the rumors are true. The screams are from the students being killed. Now, just figure out who, why, and how. Good luck everybody. From now on, no student is safe. Everyone is fair game. Ta ta.

For now.

She read it aloud, allowing another round of horrified gasps to emerge from the students. "Wait- how did you know about the note, if you didn't do it?!" A girl shrieks. "Yeah!" Another guy agrees, whose name is unknown to Raven. Good thing she was smart enough to use the tip of her sleeves to pick up the note, so that no fingerprints were on it that belong to her. "EVERYBODY, WHAT IS THE COMMOTION?!" The principal yelled as he shoved past the students. "AND WHY, HAS EVERYONE DECID-" His eyes widened at the sight of the girl, who is unrecognizable in her.. current state.

Then, his eyes met Raven's. "WHAT ARE YOU DOI-" "There's a note," she interrupted. "A message. To the students. It says he is prepared, and will, kill again. Only students. Nobody here is safe." He opened his mouth to speak, but not a sound came out. In fact, nobody was talking at all. "We need to leave." Raven said. "NO! No, you can't. School will remain open!" He bellowed to the students. "STUDENTS WILL DIE IF THEY COME HERE!" Her voice rang through the halls. "Y-Yeah!" Ash spoke up. Everyone looked at her. "Unless you've got a death wish, there's no coming back here."

"If you say one WORD about this matter to anyone outside this school," He threatened, "I will find a way to pin it on you. Easily. Then, we'll see who wants to stay home from school." Surely he knew the cameras could have- wait.. she looked at them. Gum. Could it have been the principal? No, that would risk is career, surely it wasn't him..

The corridors, for once, were completely silent. "NOW GET BACK TO CLASS!" His voice boomed. We rushed to our next class, fifth period.

~~~~~~
Raven was the first student to leave the math classroom. She HATED math. She rushed to technology, her favorite class, when she ran into the last person she wanted to see. Chris. And she literally rain into him. She didn't realize how fast she was walking until she walked slam into him. The both bounced back, and she winced at whatever was going to happen next. She tried to take off before he noticed it was her, but his hand snaked around her arm and pulled her back. "LET GO OF ME!" She snapped, smacking his hand away. Surprisingly, a hurt expression crossed his face. Then it was pure shock, and Raven swore she imagined the previous emotion. He was probably shocked because most girls he touch probably act like they won the lottery. Well, Raven was not interested. "S-Sorry." He stammered. Raven almost gasped. Almost.
He stuttered? Mr. I'mSoCoolAndCollected stuttered? What kind of act is this? A new strategy, possibly. "I heard you found the note." He said. Back to his usual self. How is his hair so perfect? Raven could swear she saw him walking into P.E last period, and yet not a stray hair in sight. "Look, I get that most girls swoon over your unnatural attractiveness, but if you haven't noticed, I'm not the type of girl who would date a guy who has an ego the size of a skyscraper because he's hot!" Raven barked, unsure of what came over herself. She turned and walked away, proud of how cool she seemed just then.
And then she kept walking to class.
