Endless Oceans

The moon rose high into the night sky, giving the ship a grayish tint. It creaked as it rocked back and forth on the ocean, waves splashing against it's sides. A muffled cry sounded in the night, it's source unknown. Zara found she was the only one left on the deck - accompanied only by the noises the night offered. The cry sounded off again, this time closer. It began to sound less like a bird. Zara took in her surroundings. A large mountain was pointing out of the ocean far in the distance. She looked around, still stunned by the sudden attack, but stopped all movement when she spotted two red, hellish eyes in the dark, that belonged to the only other creature in the general area of ocean. They started nearing her, and it swam into the moonlight, revealing watery blue scales in the light, it's back aligned with spiky scales. It's large jaws parted, revealing three rows of large, sharp, pointed teeth, and-

Zara sat straight up in her bed. She looked around, and found she wasn't in the ocean at all. She looked around the room, and remembered where she was. From the wardrobe where she had kept her clothes over night to the bed she lay upon right now, she knew she was, in fact, in her room in the living quarters, and not in the ocean at all. She lay back down, sighing exhaustedly. She was safe, for now, but she couldn't help but feel there was danger waiting around the corner. She couldn't help but feel that something more than fish and sharks lurked in the endless ocean...
