Part 28:
For you :) Dominacia :)
That night, Randhir did not have any nightmares and so did Sanyukta. It was the first night of their adult life, where all they could do was just to sleep without any worries, pains and absolutely no sense of the outer world, a feeling of comfort hugging them from all corners.
Close to sunrise, 5 AM in the morning, Randhir opened his eyes after hearing some noise. It seemed to be emanating from the nearby tree, probably birds. They were getting ready to start their day, it seemed. He rubbed his eyes gently to deprive it of the sleep it had got after a long long time. He stretched his arms wide with a big yawn in his mouth. When he did try moving, he could hardly feel his leg. That is when, his eyes fell on Sanyukta. She had totally occupied his lap for a whole night making it go numb. His immediate reaction was a shock, as in how did she end up there? Few quick memories flashed before his eyes, making him remember everything that had happened between them the previous night. He remembered her cute smile, the way her world got torn apart right in front of his eyes, the way she cried like a baby and it finally ended with him remembering the hug. It quickly brought about the famous Shekawat smile onto his lips.
Randhir had no idea of disturbing her sleep. But he had to leave the place, he had no other choice. In few hours, office would be buzzing with activity. If someone finds her there, it would trigger a hell lot of questions. He leaned low to take a closer look at her face. She seemed so peaceful. "This must be the only time on earth when this girl can keep her mouth shut" he thought, with a smile.
She still seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. He slowly lifted her head, pulled his leg out, his hands still supporting her head. He lifted her up gently and cast a quick look at her. No movement, but a light curve in her lips. Probably she is dreaming, he thought. He carried her all the way down the stairs and got into the parking lot. He placed her gently in the back seat and started the car.
"Oh Shit!" he suddenly remembered her bag. He had left it in the terrace. He made sure the car was locked, and quickly climbed the stairs. He came back with her bag in a jiffy. Next moment, the car was on its way to her house. It was still dark, and the roads were empty. It took only 10 mins for Randhir to reach her flat. The watchman was completely asleep, without disturbing him, he carried Sanyukta all the way upto her flat. He unlocked her house, and carried her inside. He gently placed her in the bed and covered her with a blanket. He pulled a chair nearby and sat on it. Had time permitted, he would have stayed there forever, but he had to leave. In a while, she would wake up and have hell lot of questions in her mind. He did not want her to know how she reached her house. He didn't want anybody else in the apartment to spot him as well. He quickly rushed towards the door, turned to give a final look at her before leaving. She still had that smile on her face, that got transferred to his lips for a moment.
Sanyukta opened her eyes, her head ached a lot. She slowly tried to get up. She was in a place known to her, but she had no idea how she got there. She tried a lot to remember what might have happened to her, but her head didn't let her to. All she could think of, was a coffee. She needed coffee so badly. Her head was weighing like it was carrying a big rock.
Randhir peeped out of his curtains to get a glimpse of her. Before leaving, he had pulled open her curtains completely so that he could get a view of her. He did not want her to get into any kind of trouble. He was the only one entitled to trouble her, he thought. Once Randhir saw her getting out of the bed normally, he let out a sigh of relief. In the next 10 mins, he was on his way back to office. It was already 9, and he had important meetings that day.
When Sanyukta finally opened her eyes, after sipping off the last drop of coffee, her eyes fell on the clock. It showed somewhere close to 10. Her initial reaction was "Oh 10" realisation hit the next moment. "Shitttttt its 10!!!! I am done today. Monster will be waiting for me" She dropped the mug and rushed towards the restroom In the next 10 mins, she was on her way to office.
She entered her room, and quietly made her way to the desk. She avoided looking up, she had made up her mind not to look at him the whole day.
"Stop...! " he screamed.. She startled and looked up. He seemed to be raging with anger. She had no idea what might have made him so angry, so early in the morning. He cast a look at her top to bottom, "Shaadi ke liye aayi ho?" he questioned, his eyes still fixated on her.
"Sir....!" she stammered... "Sir.. I don't get what you are saying.." she finally managed to finish the sentence.
"Look at you.. Orange top, Green dupatta, Blue pants... Poore National flag banke aayi ho..! Independence day hai kya? You won't get that.. mind you, there's no independence for you.. Not from me atleast..!" he warned.. Only then, she managed to get a look at herself. She wasn't quite sure why people were casting a weird look and giggling at her in the bus. She had taken them all for fools. She now was totally aware of the reason, she was looking like a real clown. In her urgency to come to office, she had managed to wear all the clothes from all the corners of the wardrobe.
"I don't pay you for nothing... You come to office at 10 and top of it, like this!!! Just get lost, I need all those files ready in 2 hours. Heard me? Yes, just 2 hours. Now go..." he screamed again.
His anger did not make sense at all to her this morning. There was something weird in his behaviour. He was trying to hide something behind his anger. When she just turned to leave, she heard him calling "Agarwal..!" She was quite surprised. Not because he called her that, but there was something missing. Suddenly she remembered and turned .. "Sir.. you forgot the dash.." she pointed out.
"What???" he was shocked as well as surprised.
"Yes Sir.. You usually call me as Dash Agarwal.. I miss the dash today" she quickly realised what she had blurted.. "Matlab you missed the dash today" she corrected, but the truth was somewhere down her heart she was the one missing it.
"You don't teach me what I should do.. Get it? I am looking for another word. Till then, Agarwal would do.. Now just get me a cup of coffee.. Goo.." he raged..
She turned to leave with a hint of disappointment. Just then, her eyes caught his image in the glass door, he was laughing uncontrollably, with his hands tightly closing his mouth to not let the sound escape. It was the beautiful thing she had seen in a while now. He was laughing, probably at her attire, his eyes filled with tears, his cheeks were red like roses.
"If this would make you laugh, I would forever wear clothes like this" she thought to herself. But what are you hiding Randhir? she wondered. Next moment, she felt confused "What is happening to me? What is it?"
