44 [knockout]

Everyone automatically turn quiet as they hear Madam Tang's voice clearly through Jongho's microphone. Their fight-or-flight reactions are activated, and the first thought Mingi could do is to broadcast a Code 3. Just as he's about to slam the button down to initiate a signal for Code 3, Madam Tang's voice rings through the line again before her full body comes into view from Hongjoong's camera, having been distancing herself from Jongho.

"I know who you are, Min Gunhoo. Your company isn't doing so well right now, so I don't believe that price. Where do you have the money to spare, when you're about to go broke?"

"She's testing you. She wants to see whether you're really keen on making this deal with her," Mingi warns him, followed by the mechanical sound of the furious typing of his keyboard. "I sent over some of the details to Minion on Min Gunhoo's accounts."

He projects the details onto Hongjoong's lenses, allowing the leader to scan through. As Madam Tang waits for an answer from Jongho, Hongjoong quickly scans through the details of the bank account, before understanding what Min Gunhoo was trying to do with the deal.

He was trying to find a one-hit wonder where he could get himself back to his feet, knowing this is only a do-or-die deal. If he doesn't get his hands on the substance... he is as good as dead.

Hongjoong bends his body so that he can whisper into Jongho's ear, peeking carefully at Madam Tang who looks like she's about to transform into a lion that would pounce at them any moment.

The leader whispers into the youngest's ear, "This is the last straw for Min Gunhoo; he was hoping to strike a deal with Madam Tang so that he will get his hands on the substance that is not available anywhere else on the market yet. He's planning to avoid going bankrupt by selling these drugs, but he never actually had the money to spare to buy them from Madam Tang."

"Our guess is that he was planning to bluff his way through the deal somehow, maybe by using fake money to fool her. Basically we're caught up in Min Gunhoo's own lies; he isn't being honest about this even from the start." Mingi slams on the keyboard, frustrated. "That damn rat is making this complicated when it should have been a simple exchange from the start."

"But if Madam Tang does know about Min Gunhoo's current financial standing, why did she agree to meet him anyway?" Yeosang asks, but none of them have the answer as they keep quiet.

"Well?" Madam Tang twirls her shoulder-length hair around her finger. "I'm waiting, Min Gunhoo. I need to hear your answer or-" she smiles. She doesn't elaborate but they know what she's talking about.

Clearly.

Her last words seem to be a cue for her bodyguards to block the door and only conventional exit, barricading it with their muscly bodies while the closest one to her, whom she addressed as Wong stands beside her before lifting up the suitcase.

"You... really think I'm stu...pid," she pronounces with a lilt, her body swaying, looking as if she's drunk. "That's such a shame though, I would really love to spend a night with you before I-" she drags a slender finger across her neck. "Now you're just going away without anything to remember," she chides. "It's too bad."

"Minion, if you want me to blast a Code 2, give me a signal, now," Mingi reminds him through his earpiece. The sound of a chair rolling away fills the line as Hongjoong gives a '2' signal to the camera, before doing another gesture that Mingi understands perfectly.

He punches in the code that gives rise to a mechanical voice repeating, "Code 2, Minion and Apple."

"Listen here, all of you. Toothless, Aurora and Silver stay put in the hotel room. We will make sure that the meeting with the real Min Gunhoo go on, but our problem is how we're going to get the substance that's currently held by Madam Tang's bodyguard. Minion has requested for back up from Shiber-"

"Got it," San's voice comes in.

"-to come to that hotel room and help in retrieving the substance. As for Corgi-"

"Corgi reporting, ready to shoot."

"-get ready at a high point, but make sure only the non-fatal areas are shot. We're not looking to kill anyone tonight, only to delay by injuring them, got it?"

"Loud and clear."

"Statue?"

"Right here."

"We need to work together to guide them and pan through the cameras, deal?"

"It's always a deal that should not even be the question."

"You think I would just give this to you without having the slightest idea on how your account looks like?" Madam Tang perches on the arm of the sofa, arching one of her eyebrows. She releases a heavy breath before chanting, "No, no, no. You might not have your face anywhere that I can see, but I know all your bank accounts are zero, if not, negative. With what fucking money are you trying to get this with?" She playfully swings the suitcase in her hand. "I'm not that greedy for money because I've lots until I'm tired of looking at them," she continues, "but I despise it when you think that you can fool me with this. I feel... offended, to say the slightest."

"Well for once she's stupid for still believing that Apple is Min Gunhoo," Yeosang passes a comment, to which they simultaneously shush him.

"Not now, Statue. You can save that for when we actually finish this," Mingi taps on his earpiece. "Shiber and Corgi, report your location." He pulls up all the cameras he can throughout the hotel building, his framed eyes flitting only for a fraction of a second on each screen. "Apple and Minion, either one of you, report the situation inside and try to hold on until Shiber gets to you."

"Shiber, heading to the destination in around 3 minutes. This lift is taking forever to come down."

"The stairs?" Seonghwa offers.

"For the record I'm about to bring some food for the wonderful room #1678, so the stairs is not an option," San reports.

"Food?" Yunho asks, but he's not expecting an answer anyway; he knows exactly what San meant by it.

"Corgi reporting, I'm already here getting a perfect view of the expensive suite. That Madam Tang surely knows how to leave an impression," Wooyoung mutters as he eyes the room through the telescopic sight on his rifle.

Hongjoong grips Jongho's shoulder, signalling to him subtly that San is coming. The problem they know they're having right now is that they're about to face the horde of bodyguards who are more than twice their size and triple their number. Madam Tang has no intention of letting them walk out of the suite alive, and surely not with the substance in hand. He notices the bodyguard with the mole under his lip strike first, putting out a fist intended for him, and the former does what ATEEZ has agreed on.

Hongjoong takes the hit, tumbling to the floor as he lets out an exaggerated shout while holding on to his swollen cheek, the metallic taste of blood flooding his tongue. He runs his tongue over his teeth, trying to appear helpless as Jongho rushes to his side.

"Rome!" Jongho fake-cries, signalling to Hongjoong that they will continue the act until San arrives. He looks at Madam Tang furiously, while gesturing towards his attacker. "What do you think you're doing to my bodyguard? I will make sure you will never see the end of this."

"Oh, don't worry, we won't. Because you will see the end first," Madam Tang sneers, hugging the suitcase to her chest and sitting back down on the sofa. "Shall we start now, boys? It's been a while since I watched anything entertaining." Her unkind eyes rest upon her two guests on the carpeted floor as she instructs, "Beat them to a pulp and dispose of them. I don't want to hear anything of a Min Gunhoo of sorts; teach them a good lesson on why you should not try to con someone like me, before you kill them."

Jongho takes the hit next as something blunt is landed on his back, plummeting him to the floor next to Hongjoong. He grits his teeth to suppress the pain, willing San to come faster to the suite so that they can actually spring into action. Pretending to be weak is definitely much, much harder for him than fighting back, when all he wished he could do is to crack their skulls open and drive them away with his fist.

Madam Tang taps a finger on the suitcase, bearing a signal for the fight to continue. It's not after the second man tried to attack again that his hand stops mid-air, halted by the sudden silence from the ringing doorbell. The bell sounds like a sign for them to stop attacking the poor people on the floor, accompanied by San's voice shouting from behind the closed door, "Room service!"

Their confused faces are enough to tell them that none of them are expecting another guest, including Madam Tang who's starting to look pissed for having her entertainment interrupted before it even properly started.

"Who the fuck ordered room service at this hour?" Madam Tang's voice bellows throughout the unit as she slams the suitcase on the glass coffee table. "Have you had enough of working with me, Wong? Do you think I'm a joke?"

"Mada- madam it wasn't me. You," Wong orders one of his henchmen, "open the door and send him away. Tell him he got the wrong room."

The bodyguard skitters to the door, looking cautiously over his shoulder to make sure that as he stands in the doorway, the situation of the living room cannot be seen by the unsuspecting waiter. He swings the door open and clears his throat as he sees a blonde man with a linen napkin on his arm, looking excessively polite as he bows and presents a metal domed plate on a trolley.

"I'm bringing dinner to room #1678 ordered by..." San trails off as Mingi helps to feed the info into his earpiece, "...Mr. Wong?" He elbows his way forcefully through the hallway, in which the bodyguard could not stop him due to his surprise at hearing Wong's name out of the waiter's mouth. Stupidly he gets pushed away as San wheels the serving trolley into the suite with poise. "Mr. Wong?" San tries again, trying hard to divert his attention from his two team members on the floor. He places a hand on the handle of the dome, but stops when Madam Tang's voice booms through the whole suite again.

"Wong, you're fired!"

"Madam," he replies in disbelief over something so simple.

"Oh dear," San utters as his eyes dart in fake fear around the whole room, as if it's only the first time that he realized what the situation they're in right now. "Am I interrupting something; are you having a party? Those two must have been really drunk to be knocked out on the floor." He makes a point to add some tremor to his voice, making sure that they would believe he's only an innocent waiter getting caught at the worst moment. "I could come back any other time it's convenient for you."

"Shut up," Madam Tang is starting to look hysterical. She scrapes her fingers on the coffee table and taps them, before jabbing a finger into Wong's side and hissing with a sarcastic tone, "What are you doing? Let your food be served so we can continue on with the show. I have no time to waste."

"I don't know who the fuck ordered the food," Wong growls but he juts out his chin. "Put it on the coffee table and get your ass out of here before I beat you up. You-" he points to his lackeys, "if it's any one of you, you bet I'm going to beat you up too."

"Ve-very well sir," San stutters before stealing a glance at Hongjoong and Jongho before winking. "Firstly, I would like to apologize for the delay in bringing your food."

Despite his intrusion, the rest are focused on his hand that's about to reveal what's under the dome, including Madam Tang who has her face directed away from the server, but tries to take a peek from the corner of her eyes.

"Ah, before that," San interrupts. "This might be a little bit inappriopriate but I was asked to deliver a message. You had a noise complaint and I hope that you could tone it down a bit. I fully understand that you're excited to have a party in this room and you're all-" he wiggles his fingers, "-suited up for the occassion, but we do have others in this-"

"From who?" she barks.

San lowers down his face so that his eyes are directed towards the dome before gripping the handle of the dome. As he secures his grip, his eyes shoot up to look at Madam Tang straight in the eyes before snarling, "From me."

In a split second he lifts up to reveal nothing under the dome as he hurls the cover towards Wong first, who doesn't have time to properly duck as it hits him on the chin with enough force that his big body sways backwards.

"You fucker-" Madam Tang starts but she doesn't attend to Wong, only turning to the rest of her bodyguards before shouting, "Finish them off!"

With their senses set into motion, Hongjoong and Jongho heave themselves off the ground while San takes the tray next, using it as a weapon to go against Wong as he bangs it against the latter's head, taking his momentary confusion as an opportunity to land a solid kick against his stomach. The impact of the metal against his head was too strong that the tray ends up slightly bent, but even with the hard attack the bodyguard stays well on his two feet.

Hongjoong retaliates as he gives the punch he had been waiting for towards the man with the mole that had struck him first, and the latter staggers backwards with a grunt, falling over the sofa as Madam Tang pushes him off with an annoyed face. Still, the woman remains rigid as she watches on, crossing her arms and securing her hold around the suitcase. She knows that none would go for her, not before they can walk over the rest of her bodyguards.

Jongho goes in head first and bringing at once two bodyguards down with him, and they grapple on the floor as he gives multiple punches towards them before they lay in defeat, already unconscious. With the help of the leader he gets back to his feet, and it's not before he lifts Hongjoong up, allowing him to deliver relentless kicks on the faces of the remaining bodyguards.

As they try to regain their balance, Jongho lets the leader go before grabbing the trolley and throws it with speed, letting it crash against them as they get knocked out cold.

San takes in a deep breath as the toughest weed of them all - Wong - still has his feet planted firmly on the ground. San delivers yet another roundhouse kick that he manages to avoid. The bodyguard Madam Tang trusts the most essentially throws the former who is much lighter and less bulkier to the side, letting him crash against the wall and slides down onto the floor.

"Shiber, get back up!" he hears Seonghwa roars through his earpiece. "This was not how I trained you."

"Right away... Toothless," he mumbles before rolling to the side, avoiding another vicious attack from Wong.

San looks around to find a weapon besides the metal tray that has slipped out of his hand, and spots the table lamp that would be perfect as something to bash against his opponent's head. He crawls towards the table while Hongjoong practically flies over him, sending a string of curse words followed by something along the lines, "I'm not short and tiny you stupid little batches!" Meanwhile, Jongho is finishing off another bodyguard in an arm lock, looking like he could almost fold the latter's arm in half.

He manages to curl his fingers around his new weapon, getting a hit from behind from Wong before he lies on his back and jumps up, swinging the table lamp like he does with a bat. He lets out a triumphant noise as Wong staggers and blood drips from his temple, the latter then crashing onto the floor with a dull thud. With a broken bulb he places back the lamp carefully on the table, acting as if he had not just knocked a man unconscious with the said item.

The three members finish facing the horde of bodyguards, knocking them out cold and disabling them from fighting again for the time being. They face the final boss of the game, the supposed leader of this meeting who's currently looking like she had seen a ghost; Madam Tang.

She may have managed to maintain the image as she knows that she had her bodyguards around, but now with all of them unconscious and these three foreign men casting shadows upon herself, she is starting to lose her demeanour of the strong woman.

"The suitcase please, madam," Jongho stretches out his arm and gestures towards her. "I hope this is enough reason for you to know why you shouldn't accuse me of such atrocity and then attacking me without clear evidence. Surely you would not think that I came in here without having any backup plan? This deal ends right here, and I hope we won't see each other again. Also," he winks, "thanks for the offer to sleep with you, I couldn't be more honoured. But you might want to think about being loyal sometimes, because that's how marriages are supposed to work."

With the suitcase held by Jongho and the first part of their mission accomplished, the three of them turn to walk to the door, ready to hand in the substance to both Byul and Yunho who are waiting on the suite a few floors above. They get startled as they hear a loud bang followed by the sounds of a body falling limply to the floor and the crashing of glass. As they turn around, Madam Tang is on the carpeted floor, a pool of blood forming near her leg.

San hastily shouts into his microphone, "Corgi I told you don't kill-"

"Relax, Shiber. Forgot a rule? Never turn your backs towards the enemy while they are still capable. If I didn't shoot her she would have run towards you with that ornament and bash your head with it. The next thing you know is you're going to be involved in another epic showdown with Madam Tang. Don't worry," he emphasizes, "I only shoot at a non-vital area. She probably needs some stitches but she'll be alive and well."

"I called the ambulance over to her suite, so all of you better get your glutes out of there before having to explain yourselves," Yeosang says.

They file out of the suite without looking back, disappearing into the corner just as the lift opens to reveal the paramedics and security rushing towards suite #1678. Nonchalantly, the three team members get onto the lift and they part ways, with San bringing the suitcase towards the room where Seonghwa and the couple are currently at.

He knocks on the door and as he is let in, he heaves the suitcase onto the table with the rest of them nervously looking on, not knowing what to expect as he unlocks the suitcase. As soon as it clicks open though, San, Seonghwa, Yunho and Byul blink a few times and rub their eyes.

"Huh, we should have seen this coming. I don't know who's stupider; us, Madam Tang or even Min Gunhoo. We didn't get our hands on the substance, but we did get another surprise. It seemed that her most loyal bodyguard took the wrong suitcase and gave it to her. Looks like we're three million chromas richer now."

Yeosang groans before giving the instructions for them to hurry as the time to meet the real Min Gunhoo is approaching real fast.

"Looks like we have to break into her suite again to retrieve the substance, but this time our enemies aren't her bodyguards. It's the damn paramedics that I called over."
