9 - Let them go?

You were laying in your bed attempting to sleep, but it was proving difficult thanks to the sounds of your newest Creepypasta, Kagekao, sounding like he was throwing stuff...? and just completely making a mess downstairs. You were between just ignoring it and going downstairs and locking him forcefully in the basement to shut him up.

You were about to turn and cover your head with your pillow to block out the noise when you suddenly heard a loud knock coming from your window. You groan loudly and allow yourself to float up from the bed and onto the ground, then you slide on your mask before pushing open the curtains.

You see Zalgo sitting there on your window ledge, seemingly lounging and waiting there for you to show up. You just stood there and glared at him. 'Should I open it for him or should I ignore him and go back to bed...'

Shrugging your shoulders, you decide to do the latter, but before you could walk off, you suddenly feel yourself being transported and next thing you knew you were walking off the ledge outside your window. You began to scream but felt the fall immediately stop short as something grabs ahold of your pajamas.

"And good evening to you too, (Y/N)..." Zalgo's voice yawned at you and you rolled your eyes, letting your arms and legs fall before you. "It's 11 at night, F-Y-I..."

"Does it look like that concerns me? And to think you were about to walk off on me when I came here to greet my old friend."

You felt yourself being pulled upwards again and Zalgo places you back on the ledge in front of him. You grumble and sit down hesitantly and hug your legs. "You're just here to tell me everything you don't like about what I'm doing."

"Well, that too."

You sigh and lean your head against the window glass, avoiding Zalgo's gaze. "I don't get what you don't understand about me being lonely and just wanting a few friends with the same values as me to hang around."

Zalgo titled his head, "Your new "friends" consist of a little girl, a clown, and...whatever the hell that black and white thing is."

"...They're cool!"

"Point is, your choice in "friends" are horrible. Was I not enough for you? After everything I gave you?"

You huffed, "You're always busy looking after your kingdom and what not. You're too busy and powerful to be my friend."

Zalgo rolled his eyes, "You're really acting like a child, you know."

"Nyeh."

"...Listen (Y/N), despite the fact that I'm mostly busy, you should be honored to have me as your one and only friend. I sought you, a simple human as worthy of even upholding my powers! You're nothing without those powers, you know, and I could easily take them away..."

Upon hearing the mention of your abilities getting taken, you turn to Zalgo with a frantic expression, which causes the man to smirk and burst out into laughter at your reaction. "See? Even you know it well, (Y/N). Without me, you're nothing. I'm the only one you'll ever need. Those pathetic free-loader friends of yours aren't actually your friends...I'm sure in time they'll only take advantage of your kindness, you'll see."

"I...they're not like that...at least not Sally I'm sure..."

"And what if they find out you're human? How will they treat you then? Won't they turn their backs on you?"

You shook your head, "I doubt it. Kagekao knows I'm human...but he still came along with us-and he never even told Sally and LJ."

"He only bothered since you offered him repayment."

"Zalg, have you been snooping on me this whole time??"

Zalgo laughed yet again and then stopped, giving you a serious glare. "Just what are you going to do when this all goes up in flames? This companionship you desire...I doubt it will last long. Eventually you'll realize that relying on others for comfort and trust, it's all not worth it. They'll only turn their backs on you in the end."

Hearing this, you didn't want to believe any of it was true, but the way Zalgo spoke began to get to you and it really did make you think that his words were truth. What if...what if in the end your new ally's did turn around and leave you? If they find out you're just a human? Or what if they just grow tired of you? They all decide to turn and abandon you? Thinking about it began to drag down your mood a lot, and you started to wonder if bringing in random criminals was a good idea in the first place...

Zalgo noticed your worried look and moved closer to your, resting a hand on your shoulder.

"(Y/N), It's best you know this now, while you're at the start. While there's only three people to toss away. The more you gather, the harder it will be for you to let go, and the harder you'll fall when they all betray you. Believe me, the one who helped give you a home and helped you exceed all human beings. I'm only looking out for a fellow hater of humans, aren't I?"

"...I guess..."

"See, you're a very smart mortal. The same worthy human I looked into the day you summoned my presence."

You shrugged your shoulders again and Zalgo chuckled, "Why don't you go deal with those fools then? I know it must be a headache hearing that good for nothing black and white menace destroying the things in your house, after you so kindly let him in your doors? Or better yet-I could complete wipe him off the face of the planet for you~?"

"...N-No...I'll take care...of it...myself..."

"Very well. Let me know how it goes when you're done then! Trust me, it'll be such a relief to live in an empty mansion again!"

With that, Zalgo stood up on the ledge and instantly disappeared. You heaved a heavy sigh and slowly got up, then teleported yourself through the window back into your bedroom.

You stop and listen for a bit; the crashing downstairs had ceased. You think for a moment to yourself, wondering if you really would force the three Creepypastas to leave. It wasn't long you had known them, so it wouldn't be that hard, would it?

"Why the fuck am I listening to Zalgo anyways?" You mumble, slipping into some shoes and gliding out of your room to go downstairs.

You enter into the living room and see Sally asleep on the couch next to Laughing Jack who was watching some really weird show on TV. Kagekao was sitting cross legged on the head of the couch behind them, a huge bowl of popcorn in his hand and a bottle of wine sitting next to him.

You pause by the steps, watching the three quietly. You then call out to them in a hesitant manner, instantly gaining the clown and the tricksters attention.

"You three...come with me," You give the simple order, then start gliding off in direction of your basement. You feel the confusion of the pastas glaring at you before their footsteps slowly follow behind you.

You glance back once to see Kagekao following you close behind and LJ was carrying Sally. You face forwards again and lead them down the basement.

Once you were all inside, you instructed them to stand by while you walked up to the glass case covered with the black sheets.

"Do you know why you guys are even here?" You ask, looking down at the case.

"Because you're our savior! Heh, you saved this ol' lad from being alone and forgotten..." Laughing Jack responded. "Because you owe me a whole crate of wine...and maybe also because you were cool enough to let me stay in a fancy mansion, kekekeke!" Kagekao replied. "Um...what's going on...?" Sally yawned, only now just beginning to wake up. "Little girl, (Y/N)Man wants to know why we think they brought us here," Laughing shack explained. "Oh...?" Sally murmured. She then rubbed her eyes and gave a small smile. "We're here because (Y/N)Man cares about us and saw that we were hurt, or alone, or needed a place to call home. We're (Y/N)Man's family!"

You honestly expected Laughing Jack to say he didn't know why he was here, Kagekao to say he was simply there for his wine, and Sally to just say because she didn't know where else to go as a spirit. Their responses stunned you a bit.

"You're all here because..." You began, then you grab ahold of the sheet and pulled it off the case, revealing the glass case and inside of it the body of the murderous teen you had tried to save not too long ago. All three of them gasped at the sight. You sighed, "Technically, this guy here is the first Creepypasta. You see, he was supposed to be here with us today, but he was taken from us by the same people we're out to kill. It's because of him that the three of you are here today. He sparked the idea, and fueled my urge to continuously be a burden on humanity. They'll pay for what they've done by living in fear that we killers exist, hunting them down for sport."

A dark smirk appeared on your face as you looked down at the matching mask that covered the unnamed teen's face. "With you three, and hopefully many more to come, we'll be feared, hated, sought out to be destroyed by society. I don't care what Zalgo says-we'll always be Creepypasta, forever!"

You then turned around and faced the three. Sally looked at you with a bright eyed, creepy smile and Laughing Jack wore his never-ending grin. Kagekao's mask looked at you with a wide, corrupted smirk. "We'll follow you to the ends of this earth (Y/N)Man!" Sally exclaimed. "We'll kill whoever unlucky souls you order us to be rid of, hehehe!" Laughing Jack snickered. "I'll torture you with pranks for all of eternity! Kekekekeke!" Kagekao laughed.

"Huh" You glared at Kagekao.

Sally then ran up to you and wrapped her arms tightly around you. "Please don't ever leave me alone. I wanna stay with you forever." You looked down at the little ghost girl and smiled, gently petting her head. "I won't Sally. I'll never leave your side. None of yours."

Laughing Jack came over as well and chuckled as he rested a hand on your head and Kagekao picked you up and squeezed both you and Sally tightly. You laughed and held onto the warmth of your new "family."

While Zalgo had teleported and watched the whole thing from the entrance of your basement. The demon lord facepalmed, once again growing irritated with your growing softness.
