Mara finished drying her hair after a long shower, it taking a long time since her blow dryer broke the other day. Sally didn't mean to, she was only trying to style Lazari's hair, but she accidentally dropped it, causing it to break. Though disappointed about her hair dryer, she forgave Sally. She was still a little girl, and, well, always would be. No one could really expect her to know any better.

After putting her towel in her laundry basket, and brushing her hair, Mara walked out of her room, going to see how Devin was doing. He would usually be done with work by now, but wanted to reorganize some files that day, his OCD getting the best of him. He was a doctor, no one really was surprised that he was overly organized. Didn't want him mixing up someone's medical records with another's. As she neared his office, she flattened her hair and straightened her sweater, always self-conscious about her looks, especially around Devin. She always wanted to look pretty in front of him, and while he always reassured that she was always so beautiful, she sometimes doubted his words.

After straightening herself up, she knocked on his office door, hearing him shuffle around for a minute before she heard a faint, "Come in." As Mara entered his office, she saw him adjusting his mask. She guessed that he thought that she was someone else. He was always embarrassed of his looks around others, having some scars here and there, only taking it off when he was alone of with Mara. She smiled as she closed the door, Devin realizing it was her as he did so, smiling as he took off his mask, revealing his handsome face to her as she walked over to him. "Are you almost finished?" she asked, Devin smiling and kissing her hand as he always did when he greeted her.

"Almost, my love, just have to finish organizing this one~" Devin replied, going back to the file after giving her a reassuring smile. Mara sat down in one of the chairs in front of his desk, watching him work, realizing how much effort he put into organizing the file, putting everything in order, even looking at the page numbers to make sure he had everything straight. As he closed the file and attached a new name label to it, the file being Toby's, Devin glanced up at her, smiling as he saw Mara watching him, winking at her before getting up from him chair, going over to one of his filing cabinets to put away the file. After doing so, he closed the drawer and walked over to her, bending down to kiss her forehead. "It's so precious at how you wait for me, like a little lost kitten~" he said, smirking slightly as he saw Mara blush and glance down in embarrassment. Devin chuckled and, after putting on his mask, walked with Mara out of his office, Devin locking his office door with his key to keep anyone from going in there, i.e Toby.

After that, he walked Mara back to her room, Device sniffing the air as they walked in, smiling down at her as he spoke. "Still using the soap with my favorite scent, I see~" he said, Mara blushing more as she nodded. "I-I know you like lavender, a-and...." Mara's voice faded as she was embarrassed to say the next part of her sentence, though Devin already knew what she was going to finish it with. He smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her to him as he pulled his mask down, revealing an amused expression. "So I would hold you and sniff your hair more?" he asked, Mara nodding in reply. Devin chuckled and suddenly picked her up, walking over to the bed and sitting down on it with her on his lap facing him. "You need only ask~" he cooed before leaning his face down to her neck, sniffing her hair and skin, the scent of lavender she bathed in clinging to both. Mara blushed and smiled shyly, giggling as Devin kissed her neck gently, before looking back up at her and speaking in a soft tone of voice. "You want me to stay the night?" he asked, Mara smiling and nodding as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Yeah, it'd be nice, since you always drag me to your room to sleep~" she said sarcastically, making Devin laugh before kissing her gently. She shivered and melted as he kissed her, loving how he held her as he did so, caressing her curves lovingly.

Mara was chubby and curvy, and very self-conscious of herself, though she wouldn't dare get that way around Devin. Last time she did, he gave her a long speech at how beautiful she was, explaining every detail and part of her body that made her so, which was every part. She almost died for how much he kissed, caressed, and loved on her, never questioning how beautiful she was again unless she was really down on herself. Yes, Devin would support her if she wanted to lose weight, but he liked her, in his words, plump. "More for me to love, cuddle, and cherish." he had said to her.

As they finally broke the kiss after a long minute, Devin smiled up at her and kissed her nose. "I love you, Mara~" he said, his words and voice like velvet as they reached her ears, causing Mara's smile and blush to widen. "I love you too, Devin~" she said, kissing his cheek in response. He then sat her down on the bed, pecking her lips before going to take a shower, shutting the door behind him, Mara not minding one bit, since he always came out shirtless, droplets of water dripping down his body as his hair hung in front of his eyes. Mara blushed thinking about it, and shook her head before getting some clothes out for him. He had left some in her room for whenever he slept in her room, as she left some in her room. It was a thing they did, switching between rooms every night.

After laying out his clothes and changing into her nightgown, Mara sat on her bed and started reading her book from where she left off. A few minutes later, Devin came out of the bathroom, running a hand through his hair as he sighed, Mara having to stop from nose from bleeding as she stared at him. Devin smirked when he noticed her staring at him, flexing slightly, causing her to blush more and hide her face in her book, hearing Devin chuckle as she did so. She then blushed more as she felt him crawl on to the bed in front of her, blushing a deep red as he lowered her book and looked into her eyes, leaning over her as he spoke. "Want me to leave my shirt off tonight?~" he asked, Mara nodded in response, Devin chuckling and kissing her deeply before going to get dressed. He put his boxers on and brushed his hair, deciding not to wear shorts since the room was quite warm from the heater going in Mara's room. He then laid next to her and smiled, kissing her neck again as he spoke. "I'll give you a break tonight, since you're likely tired from yesterday~" Devin whispered, Mara blushing and smacking his arm slightly, knowing what he meant, causing him to laugh.

He then pulled her close and cuddled her, turning on the TV and handing her the remote, Mara taking in his scent as she took it from him. "You pick what we watch tonight, love, it's your turn." Devin spoke, Mara smiling and nodding as she flipped through the channels, eventually turning on a romantic movie that was playing. A little bit into a watching it, a kiss scene came up, which was because that the main protagonist thought that his girlfriend had died, but she didn't. It was an overused thing in romantic movies, but it was relatable in a way. Devin then suddenly gasped and flopped onto the bed, Mara looking down at him in surprise. "Are you okay?" she asked, Devin's eyes being closed as he tried not to crack a smile. "I'm deathly ill, my heart not being able to take being alone for so long." he whispered, trying to sound dramatic. "Only a kiss from the most gorgeous woman in the world can cure me." Devin the pretended to faint, tilting his head to the side.

Mara giggled and smiled, knowing what he was doing, finding it funny and cute. She then leaned down and kissed him, Devin smiling slightly into the kiss as he held the back of her head, the other resting on her back, Mara resting her hands beside his torso. She soon broke the kiss, the two smiling at each other as she spoke. "That was so cheesy, but it was cute~" she giggled, Devin chuckling in response. He then caressed her cheek before cupping it in his hand, admiring the color of her eyes as he spoke. "I can't help it, my love~" Devin chuckled, leaning up to brush his lips with hers. "Your love is the best medicine~" He then kissed her gently, Mara smiling and humming into it. After what seemed like forever to Mara, Devin broke the kiss, the two slightly panting for air, smiling at each other like a couple of lovestruck idiots. Mara then turned the TV off, the movie being over anyway, turning off her lamp and getting into bed, Devin doing the same.

He pulled her close to him and smiled, kissing her forehead as he pet her hair. "I love you~" he whispered, causing Mara's heart to flutter, smiling and sighing happily in response. "I love you too~" she replied, he voice barely a whisper as she drifted off to sleep, Devin admiring her adorable sleeping face before falling asleep himself.

He would be expecting more of Mara's sweet medicine tomorrow, him to return it with his own, as he always did.

(I hope this was at least decent, haven't written a one shot in a while. I'll never be as good as MegaFangirl1, but I hope she'll like this. I owe her so much for the one shot she wrote for me, and the many other things she has done for me. I hope you all like this ^^ )
