Rubbing the tears that flowed down my cheek, I clutched my jacket around my tiny form, trembling as chilly air whirled around me.

It was winter, and I just lost my family. When I mean lost, I mean they were killed by hunters. So now, I'm roaming around in the cold, seeking to find some shelter until morning, when it's sunnier. The sun was setting, telling me it was going to get a lot colder soon.

Wrapping my fuffy tail around my shaking legs, I watched as my breath turned into fog, generating a slight smile to appear on my face.

The only thing I don't like at the moment was that these woods make everything echo, so it sounds like footsteps behind me, but I know my mind is tricking me. Just to be on the safe side, I glanced over my shoulder to see nothing.

Sensing my ears flatten, I assumed those evil men are coming after me.

"Hey!" Yelping, I spun on my heel and began to run. I don't care where I'm going, but I'm not going to let those men get me.

Huffing, I sensed the icy air seep into my lungs, feeling like glass shards are stabbing me. Coughing, I gasped for air until I tripped on a hidden root. Letting out a cry, I plunged down a hill, the snow getting under my clothes and sting at my skin. Once a tree prevented me from rolling, I laid in the snow for a minute, welcoming the pain welling up in my body.

My ankle hurt the most, informing me I twisted it so I couldn't run anymore. Sitting up, I rubbed all the snow off me, detecting my heart hammering in my ears. Grasping ahold of the tree next to me, I lifted myself off the snowy ground, wincing when my foot brushed against the ground.

"Are you okay?!" Tensing up, I snapped my head up to see someone running down the hill towards me. Since I didn't know this person, I instantly backed up and hid behind the tree. "Hey, it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you."

Eyeing the person in front of me, I could recognise it was a male by his voice. He seemed a little older than me, but that didn't matter at the moment.

I watched as he took off his frowning mask, showing his gleaming brown eyes and fluffy chocolate hair. Digging my claws into the tree bark, I gently hobbled out from behind the tree, avoiding eye contact with the boy. "Are you okay?"

Shrugging my shoulders, I rubbed my arms for warmth, shying away from the boy. "I understand you're shy, but I'm here to help you."

I tensed up when I noticed something go over my head, understanding that the boy was giving me his hoodie.

"W-Why? Why did you give me your hoodie?" Tilting my head to the side, I clench the hoodie closer to my body, eyeing the male.

"Because you need it more than I do, now come on, I want to help you." Yelping, I shot my arms out of the hoodie sleeves when I felt the boy pick me up. Wrapping my arms around his neck, he made sure I was okay before carrying me somewhere. "Names Hoodie, you?"

Glimpsing up at Hoodie, I snuggled into the crook of his neck.

"(Y/n)."  Hoodie gave me a low chuckle, tightening his grip on me.

"Well, nice to meet you (Y/n), and welcome to your new family."
