Muffling my laugher, I ducked behind a raspberry bush, careful not to poke myself. I was playing Tag with Jeff and Liu since we had nothing else to do. I live right next to them, so my parents don't even care if I spend half of the day at the Woods house.
Noticing that Liu was hiding under their porch, I gave him a little wave, which he gladly returned.
Peeking out from behind the bush, I watched as Jeff was looking under the trampoline before heading towards the shed. I took this opportunity and ran behind the tree that sits in the middle of their backyard.
Peering out from around the Cheery tree, I saw Jeff tapping his cheek, scanning the yard around him. I was about to join Liu under the porch, but Jeff saw me.
I instantly began to run as he chased after me. I made sure to keep him away from Liu, so I ran into their garden where all the rocks are.
Of course, I tripped over my own feet, but I hastily got back up. My hands stung a tiny bit as I scrapped them on some pebbles, but I continued to run. Running for my life.
I was just about to leap over a huge rock that rested on the end of their garden, but I felt someone shove me.
"Tag! You're it!" I shrieked as my foot slipped on the rock, causing me to tumbled over it and collapse to the ground.
As I slipped, I felt my leg bend painfully, creating me wept as I sat up. My knees prickled and my leg throbbed. Glancing down at my knees, I saw them all shredded up. Tears started to fall as my face began to boil under my touch.
"JEFF?! WHAT DID YOU DO?"
With a blurry vision, I watched as Liu dashed over to me. Squatting next to me, his hands hovered over my legs as he examined them.
Jeff apologized before shuffling away, not wanting to be yelled at anymore.
I felt bad for him, it was his fault.
Liu wrapped my arm around his neck, helping me get off the filthy ground. As I stood, I heard my knees crackle and pain rushed through them.
"Ow! It hurts!" I cried, taking my time to get entirely off the dirt. As we strolled back into the Woods house, Liu kissed my palms and my knees once they got cleaned up.
It stung, but at least they feel better now. Snickering at Liu's silliness, I gave him a firm hug.
"You're silly." I beamed, causing Liu to smile down at me.
"I know, so are you!" Chuckling, Mrs.Woods came in to check up on me before providing us with ice cream. "Thank you! And tell Jeff it wasn't his fault, and I forgive him." I smiled, making Mrs.Woods nod in response.
"I will surely do that, (Y/n)." Peeping back at Liu, I see that he got ice cream all over his face.
"Thank you for helping me today." Cleaning Liu's face, I booped his nose, causing him to cringe.
"Anything for you, (Y/n)."
