"So, are you liking this evening?" Susan asked.

"Yes. You're an awesome person." Nate replied.

"Thanks." Susan replied as she blushed.

After dinner, they were now heading home. They were walking in the parking lot.

"I brought you something." Nate said as they reached near the car.

"Really? What?" Susan asked.

She blushed again as she tucked her hair behind her ear. Nate opened the door of the backseat and pulled out some fresh pink tulips. He slowly handed them to the pretty Susan whose eyes had dilated out of joy.

"Wow. They are lovely!" Susan complimented as she took the gift.

Her smile became wider and out of happiness she gave Nate a warm hug.

"Thanks." She said.

"You deserve this princess." Nate answered.

Susan gave him a sweet smile.

"Well. I should leave now." Nate said as he leaned against his car.

"Already? It's still 8 PM." Susan replied.

"Yeah. I'm sorry. I have an appointment and it's very urgent. I'm so sorry." Nate explained showing a sign of regret.

"It's okay. We'll meet next time." Susan said with a comforting smile.

"Thanks for being so understanding. Do you want me to drop you somewhere?" Nate asked.

"Oh no do not worry. You'll be late for your appointment. I'll call an uber." Susan said.

"Alright then. Bye. Take care." Nate replied and got into his car. He waved at Susan and drove away.

Susan called an uber and waited in the parking lot itself. She felt so happy after this evening date with Nate. She blushed as she thought about him. She looked at the flowers with happy eyes. Suddenly, she noticed something weird. The pink colour of the tulips were fading. She looked closely and she saw that parts of the petals were becoming white. She was still staring at them when she felt something pricking her hands.

She felt an intense pain, so, she let go of the flowers. The latter fell on the ground.

Her hands were all bloody with cuts on her fingers.

She looked at the flowers and noticed that it was transforming into something else. Thorns were grown on the stems, the petals were all white and they were no longer tulips. It looked similar to a carnivorous plant.

Seeing this creepy transformation, Susan wanted to scream but her fear didn't permit her to. Her body felt numb. She watched the plant growing into a giant monster in front of her, not even daring to cry for help. Finally, she started to take tiny steps back as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Alas! Too late. Her pretty flowers had turned into a monstrous carnivorous plant that took only 5 seconds to chew her alive, in the parking lot.

Nate stopped by a house after a 20 minutes drive. He walked into the yard and found a girl sitting outside on a bench.

He quietly sat down next to her.

"You are late." The girl said as she made a pouting face.

"I'm sorry Laura. Some urgent work came up. But I made it." Nate replied.

However, Laura was still mad. She gave no reply.

"Okay. I know how to cheer you up. Here are some fresh flowers for my girl." Nate said with a smile as he pulled up some pretty sunflowers from his bag.

Laura looked at them and her lips curved into a smile.

"They're pretty." She said as she took them.

"You like them?" Nate asked.

Laura nodded.

"Good. Take them inside, I'll go and get the champagne from the car." Nate said as he caressed Laura's cheek.

"Be quick. I've cooked Italian." Laura replied excitedly and went inside the house.

She was keeping the flowers in a jug of water on the dining table when she noticed the change in colour. The yellow colour was fading. Soon, the whole structure of the flower was changing. She felt goosebumps all over her skin when she noticed that the flowers were turning into a deadly thing. She screamed with terror as she ran towards the window of the kitchen and called for Nate.

That's when she noticed that Nate was gone. His car was nowhere to be found.

Laura turned back to face the monstrous plant.

Nate smiled as he drove his car away from Laura's house. His phone rung. He pulled over and took the call.

"Hey Madeline..... I'm on my way.... I'm sorry, I was buying something special for you. I'll be there soon." He talked as he turned back to see the pretty lilies on the backseat.
