The next 90 years, you spent looking for Elijah. You used your vampire network to gather any and every piece of information you could on Elijah, but no one was able to find him. The trail was even colder than before, giving you many false hopes and a lot of unhappy turn-outs.
You looked in every city you could for him, but you couldn't find him. The first piece of good information you had gotten about the Mikaelsons since the 1920s was from a werewolf on the run.
Normally, werewolves only killed vampires, but, you found this one, injured and terrified. He was even more scared when you approached him, but you immediately put him at ease. You knew he would heal, so you brought him to the motel room you had rented in the city you were staying in to search for the Mikaelsons.
You had asked the werewolf what had happened to him, and at first, he was unsure whether or not to tell you his whole life story but realized that you meant him no harm. He started explaining how he was just a normal werewolf, living in a pack.
But, now, he was turned into a vampire/werewolf hybrid. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion at this point. The only hybrid you knew was Niklaus. There was no possible way that this man was a hybrid as well. But, it all became clear when he told you that the one who turned him into a vampire was none other than Klaus Mikaelson.
It was weird, hearing the man call him by the second part of his name, Klaus, instead of Nik, but you were entirely more concerned with the fact that he had known the Mikaelsons.
But, you also noticed that when he said Niklaus' name, he sounded scared as if he was cursing himself by saying his name. Niklaus was like a brother to you. He was sweet and caring, why would anyone be scared of him? What had you missed in the Mikaelsons' life while you were away?
"Why are you running from him?" you asked him. "When he turned me, he sired me to him. He made me do awful things for him, me...and my friends were so tired of being his slave. So we ran away from him, and he found us. He slaughtered my friends, and I ran but he swore on his life he would find me and kill me," he explained.
You looked at him sympathetically and then asked, "Where is he now?" "I don't know, I swear, he left town. He said that he had more important things to worry about at the moment. He's gone, but if I were you, I would stop looking for him, before he kills you too," he warned.
You looked at him, slightly distressed by his words, and then told him, "Thanks for the warning. I have to go." He watched, confused, as you walked away, leaving him to heal in the motel room.
You got in the car that you had compelled someone to give you and started driving. You searched the entire city once more looking for any sign of Nik, Rebekah, or Elijah. Why was it that you always came so close, but never succeeded in finding the people you called your family?
You never found any clue that signified where the Mikaelsons went. You searched day and night, and the only eye witness that Niklaus was even in town was the werewolf who had no idea where Nik had gone.
You had no energy left in you. You needed to take a break from the search. Traveling constantly from city to city, never ceasing to look for the love of your life. It was killing you faster than any vampire, werewolf, or witch could. So, reluctantly, you started driving. You only knew of one place that could calm you down long enough to gain your energy back: Mystic Falls.
Your thoughts of seeing Damon and Stefan again raced in your head. To say you were excited was an understatement. You were ecstatic. You hadn't seen them since the 1920s, and you had so many questions for them.
You wanted to know what they had been up to, and if they still looked and acted the same. You wanted to know everything, you had missed them. You had really grown close to the Salvatore brothers back in the day, and you couldn't wait to see them. You were only a couple of states over, and it was around 9 PM, so you knew that if you drove all night you would make it there by morning.
You quickened your speed, and honestly, staying up all night wasn't much of a problem for you. You were in Virginia by 7 AM, and using an old paper that Damon had given you in the past that had their address on it, you found their house.
It was pretty big, and you were impressed with it. You parked your car, and got out, walking up to the front door. You decided to play somewhat of a trick on them. You knocked on the door, and after a moment, Damon opened it, but you used your vampire speed to speed past him, into the house.
Damon was shocked; he knew that a vampire had just entered the house...if only he knew it was you. You quickly found a hiding spot and Damon yelled, "Stefan!" Stefan soon came down the stairs, seeing what all of the commotion was about.
"What?" Stefan asked. "Someone's in the house," Damon said, quietly. "What do you mean?" Stefan questioned. "Someone knocked on the door, I opened it, they used their vamp speed to come in," Damon responded, snarky. Well, that had definitely changed about Damon, he was more of the sweet one when you met him.
"Okay, let's find whoever it is, before they kill us," Stefan stated. Damon gave him a "Really?" look and Stefan just gave a small shrug of his shoulders. They then walked together, scanning the house with their eyes. You were hiding in a small closet which they passed.
Once they had gone a little ways past the door, you opened it quietly, and then leaned against it. "Wow, would you look at that? I never would have thought that the Salvatore brothers would be united to defeat a common enemy," you said with a smirk.
Both of the boys stopped dead in their tracks. They slowly turned around, at the same time, and their jaws dropped. "Y/N?" Damon asked. You smiled and bit your bottom lip before telling them, "But then again, I'm not common, and I'm not an enemy. So, what are you really united against?"
Stefan and Damon glanced at each other, both of them smiling, and then Stefan came up and hugged you, which you gladly returned. Damon then did the same, pulling you in tight. "It's so good to see you," Damon told you.
"You too, I missed you guys," you replied. "Please, stay for a drink or something," Stefan said, motioning to the parlor room. "Okay," you agreed, walking towards the room. Damon began pouring the drinks while you and Stefan sat down next to each other on the couch.
Damon fixed you the drink that you had ordered at the bar in the '20s and you smirked at him saying, "Awe, you remembered." Damon chuckled before sitting down next to you on the couch and handing you the drink.
You happily took a sip before you asked, "So what's been going on in the Salvatores' life?" Damon and Stefan shared a knowing glance and you looked at them confused. "What?" you questioned. "Well, there's something we have to tell you," Damon replied, and you situated yourself on the couch more comfortably, preparing yourself for whatever Damon wanted to tell you.
Damon opened his mouth to speak, but suddenly there was a feminine voice that sounded throughout the mansion. "Damon? Stefan?" the woman asked. Stefan and Damon looked at each other once more before the woman came into the parlor room.
Your jaw dropped and your eyes narrowed as you saw the woman. She looked exactly like Katherine Pierce. You had never seen Katherine in person, but Stefan once showed you a picture he had of her and used that as motivation to help him want to be fixed. You and he looked at the picture every day, and you memorized her face.
The woman was startled to see you and asked, "Who's that?" Damon looked at you with a small smile and replied, "This is an old friend of ours, Y/N. Y/N, that's Elena." You looked at Damon and gave him a bitch-face.
Katherine was the entire reason why Damon and Stefan weren't as close as they used to be. She was the entire reason why Stefan became a ripper. She was the cause for ninety percent of their problems, and you fixed them. Only to find out that they both went for Katherine's doppelganger.
You remained calm and in control, though, and just stood up, walked over to Elena, and put on your best smile. You extended your hand, and said, "Nice to meet you." She smiled back and replied, "Likewise," shaking your hand.
You then walked behind the couch, positioning yourself in the middle, behind the two Salvatores. "Anyways, Ric wants to know when you want us all to meet up so we can discuss what to do about the Mikaelsons," Elena stated, directing her attention to Stefan and Damon.
You tensed at the mention of their name and looked at Stefan and Damon. If Damon had thought your bitch-face before was bad, then he really needed to see the look you were giving him right now.
The Mikaelsons were in town and they didn't try to contact you? They knew how much the Mikaelsons meant to you. Damon glanced back at you, and when he saw the face you were giving him, his eyes widened slightly, and then he turned back to face Elena. "How about we all meet at the Grill in an hour?" Damon suggested with a small, fake smile.
Elena nodded her head and then said, "Okay, I'll see you then." She then left, and as soon as she left the room, you calmly and powerfully used both of your hands to slap each Salvatore over the head, one hand per Salvatore brother.
"Ow!" they said in unison. "That was for falling for Katherine's doppelganger. I mean what the hell were you thinking?" you asked them. They just shrugged their shoulders and looked at each other, and then you repeated the action, slapping them the same way over the head. "Ow! Would you quit hitting us?" Damon responded.
"And that was for not telling me that the Mikaelsons were in town. You knew how much they meant to me! Hell, we wouldn't have even met if it wasn't for them," you explained. Damon let out a small sigh and replied, "I know, that's what we were going to tell you before Elena came in."
You raised an eyebrow, and Damon explained, "Klaus, and his sister Rebekah, have kind have been ruining all of our lives here in Mystic Falls. So, we brought their Father back to life to try and kill Klaus, but Klaus ended up killing Mikael instead, and now he is royally pissed."
You processed the words Damon had said, and then asked, "What about Elijah? Elijah would never intentionally hurt someone." "I know, and he didn't. He was one of the good ones. But, he won't be coming around anytime soon," Stefan responded.
"Why not?" you questioned. "Because Klaus daggered him," Damon replied. "Daggered?" you asked, what did that mean? "Yeah, there are these daggers that exist, and if you stab an Original with them, then they remain unconscious as if they are dead, but they will come back to life as soon as you pull the dagger out of their body," Damon explained.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, and told them, "I have to go see Nik and Rebekah." "Y/N, they are dangerous now. The people you knew, are not the same as the vampires who are in town now," Stefan replied.
"They're my family, Stefan. They won't hurt me," you responded. "Please, just come to the Grill with us. Help us figure out a plan to stop the Mikaelsons, maybe even without killing them," Damon suggested. "You said that they ruined your guys' life. Why would you help me save them?" you asked.
"Because we know that they mean a lot to you, and you mean a lot to us," Stefan told you. You smiled and thanked them, and then said, "Now, about this Elena thing." "It was Stefan's fault," Damon quickly responded, making you smile.
You then looked at Stefan, giving him an expectant look, asking for him to elaborate. "Well, I saved her from dying, got to know her, Damon came in town, and she took Katherine's place, but she is nothing like Katherine, I swear, Y/N. She's amazing," Stefan told you.
You scanned his and Damon's face and noticed that they were both genuine. They loved her, which meant that she wasn't even close to being as bad as Katherine. They would never go there twice.
"Fine, but if she causes a fight between the two of you, I'm going to kick your asses, just because I would have been right," you told them. Damon chuckled and Stefan nodded his head with a smile. For the rest of the hour you had before you met all of Stefan's and Damon's friends, you just hung out and caught up.
Finally, the time came for you all to go to the Grill. You had never been there, obviously, but apparently, that was where they spent a lot of their time. You were going to just follow Damon and Stefan in your own car, but they insisted you come with them.
You agreed, and you all got in the car. Damon drove to the Grill, which didn't take very long, and then you all got out. You hesitated before you walked in though. "Are you sure they are going to be okay with this? They don't know me. They aren't going to trust me with some diabolical plan, especially when they find out that I know the Mikaelsons. They're going to think I'm a spy or something," you told them.
"Don't worry, it'll be okay. We aren't really forming the big plan today, we are just gathering our senses together after everything with Mikael went down," Damon replied. You nodded your head before following the brothers into the Grill.
Stefan opened the door for you, and you thanked him before entering the Grill. As soon as you entered, everyone's eyes were looking at you. "What are they looking at?" you quietly asked Damon. "You," he responded. "What? Why?" you asked. "Well, Y/N, I'm not suggesting anything by this, but you are really hot. The 21st century looks good on you," he responded.
You looked at him and then looked down at your clothes. You were wearing some black skinny jeans and a red hot halter top shirt. You had your favorite shoes on that looked perfect with the outfit, and your make-up was done to perfection, along with your hair.
"I heard it was the latest style," you stated, confused. Stefan laughed and replied, "Yeah, well so are sweat pants." "What are sweat pants?" you asked. Damon and Stefan just chuckled, and then you saw the table Elena was sitting at. There was a group of teenagers and one man who was a little bit older than them there. The older one had brown hair and blue eyes.
Then there was a tanned guy with black hair and brown eyes. Next to him was a beautiful blonde girl with blue eyes, and next to her was Elena. Then there was a broody-looking brunette guy with brown eyes sitting next to a dark-skinned woman with black hair and olive green eyes.
Last, but you were assuming not least, was a sandy blonde guy with blue eyes. He gave you a small smile and you heard the blonde girl ask Elena, "Who's the supermodel with Stefan and Damon?"
Elena looked your way and replied, "An old friend of theirs, apparently. Maybe she'll be able to help us." You looked at Damon and he gave you a comforting smile that set you at ease and then the three of you made your way to the table where Elena and her friends were sitting at.
"Who's this?" the older one asked, giving you a small smile. "This is Y/N, she really helped me and Damon out back in the '20s. She is a really good friend of ours," Stefan stated. Then Damon continued for his brother, telling you the names of every person at the table. "This is Alaric," Damon said pointing at the older one. "That's Tyler, Caroline, Elena, Jeremy, Bonnie, and Matt," Damon finished, just going down the table.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," you told them with a full-hearted smile. "You too," Tyler responded. You smiled and then looked down, unsure of what to say. "So, about Klaus," Caroline stated, and you snapped your head up, listening to the words coming out of her mouth.
She looked at you and asked, "Have you heard of him?" You looked at Stefan and Damon and Damon told the group, "Right, we forgot to tell you guys the best part of Y/N being here."
"What is it?" Jeremy asked. "She knows the entire Original family. In fact, she is the love of Elijah's life, and a sister to the rest of them," Stefan responded. They all reacted differently. Some were confused, others shocked, and others impressed. "So you can help us," Elena stated.
"Yes, I can. I understand that Niklaus has made somewhat of a mess in your lives, and I am very sorry for his actions, but, I can assure you that he will no longer torment you," you told them.
"What are you going to do?" Caroline asked you. "I'm going to talk to them, and if that doesn't work, then there are other ways to make Nik obey," you responded. "I doubt it. The guy daggered his entire family," Tyler stated. "Exactly," you replied, making them all confused.
"Niklaus daggered his family because he didn't want them dead, yes in a sense, he killed them, but Nik loves his family, he would do anything to save them. I was there the night one of his brothers was brutally murdered; in fact, that's how I died. I know Niklaus, and the fact that he considers me family is what will save everyone, including himself," you explained.
"So, you're just going to what? Talk to him? Klaus isn't much of a talker," Alaric told you. "Trust me, he is going to want to talk to me. He thinks I'm dead," you replied. "Why does he think that?" Matt asked.
"Because Mikael drove a stake through my heart, well, he tried to anyway. He missed by a centimeter, and I was left to bleed out when Mikael went after Elijah, Rebekah, and Nik. Finn and Kol had already left, and it was a tragically big mess. I've been looking for them ever since, but I have never found them, so, that means that Niklaus has never seen me, and therefore thinks that I am still dead," you explained.
They again all looked at you confused, shocked, and impressed, and you were doing everything in your power to not burst out laughing at their reactions. "Please, just let me talk to my family," you pleaded, with begging eyes.
"Okay, but Stefan and Damon are going with you. Just in case they try anything," Alaric stated. "Thank you, Alaric, but I am stronger than both Damon and Stefan. I can handle myself," you replied. "Please, I don't like when other people risk their lives for us. Just take them with you to put me at ease," he responded.
You nodded your head, before ripping a napkin in half, and taking a pen from a waiter. You wrote your number down on it and said, "Call or text me if you need anything, or have any questions, or would just like to know how it's going with Nik and Rebekah in general."
You then stood up and motioned for Stefan and Damon to get up as well. "It was great to meet all of you. I'm sure we will see each other again, sometime soon," you said before taking your leave with Damon and Stefan following suit.
"That went well," Damon told you. "Yeah, better than I expected," you replied, as the three of you approached Damon's car. "So, are you ready to see Klaus and Rebekah?" Stefan asked you. "Not even close," you responded. You had missed them so much, but, you haven't seen them for centuries. What were you going to say? Would they even be happy to see you?
Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sounds of Damon's engine roaring to life. "Well, I suggest you get ready, because you are going to see them in about twenty minutes," Damon told you before starting to drive.
