A young Rosewing was walking through the forest, I am mostly green with an brown underbelly, I have vines that grow from my head, which is different from most other Rosewings because the others usually have flowers on their heads, I also have sky blue eyes, my name is Evergreen.

I hear the distant sounds from her village. "Hey there, Ever!" I turned to see her friend Bloom walk up to me.

Ever is a popular nickname with my friends though my brother Mushroom was the one to give me the nickname.

"Hey Bloom!" I say.

"It's nice to see ya today!" Bloom said.

"Yeah it's nice to see you too." I respond.

"So, what's up?" Bloom askes tilting her head.

"The sky." I smirk and respond.

"Hehe yeah the sky is up." Bloom snickered.

"Well Imma be going now, Mushroom is probably waiting for me with our dinner done. See you later, Bloom." I say.

"Alright bye, Ever." Bloom replied.

I walked to me and my brothers house, I opened the door and walked in, I close the door behind me, inside I saw her brother in the kitchen, it looked as though he may be still preparing dinner.

I suppose he hasn't finished dinner already then.

I smile at him."Hey Mushroom." I say, walking closer.

"Hey there Ever, did you do anything interesting while you were out?" Mushroom asked, casting me an glance over his shoulder.

"No, not really." I answer. "Well, besides catching up with Bloom."

"Fern is trying to take over the council... again." Mushroom said the last bit with a roll of his eyes and an large sigh.

"Seriously?" I asked. "Doesn't she ever quit?"

"Apparently not." Mushroom answered. "I wish though..." He must be getting pretty frustrated with the constant annoyance Fern has been giving the council.

"Is it time for dinner?" I ask.

"Yup." Mushroom answered.

"Thats good, I'm hungry!" I say.

They sat down and gobbled up their food with pleasure. "Oh, that was good!" I exclaim.

"Thanks, I'm glad you liked it." Mushroom smiled.

"Yeah, it was amazing!" I reply.

"I think I'm going to head to bed now." Mushroom said with a yawn. "I think I will too actually. " I agree.

I walked to my room, heading in to my bed which was actually hanging off the ceiling and climbed inside.

I close my eyes and fade into sleep, when I re-open my eyes I stood in the forest and I cloud see an rainbow crystal and what I'm pretty sure is an snow leopard sitting next to it just up ahead, I gasp at the sight of the cat I had never seen one before.

"Hello Evergreen." the cat greeted me. I have always had the ability to understand animals.

"Who are you? And how do you know my name??" I ask.

"I'm the Prophecyer of Palera. " the cat smiled kindly up at me.

"Seven dragons from different tribes, a human and a Aquakitty, all United together as one, they will save our beloved land, if they fail... all of Palera might very well be Doomed." the cat stated, his voice suddenly seeming to have the strength of thunder, booming throughout the forest and echoing in my ears.

"What does that mean?" I ask.

"You will find out on your own Evergreen, you don't need me to tell you." The cat answered, standing up and beginning to walk off.

"Why can't you tell me!" I ask, my voice raising in volume.

"Because you wouldn't go to find all of the others, and if you didn't do that... well, then the prophecy would be failed." the cat answered, glancing back to me from where he stood.

"But I would still go find them!" I respond. "Please! Tell me!"

"Sorry Evergreen, I cannot help you now." he replied.

My vision started to blur around the edges as I begin to regain my consciousness, as the dream faded the last bit, I realize I had never told the cat my name.

I awake with an gasp, leaping to feet, I still felt startled by the events of last night's dream.

"Ever! Its time for breakfast, you sleepy Owl!" Her brother called from a different room, most likely the kitchen.

I get up and out of bed, walking down the hallway to see Mushroom had made breakfast for us.

We lived on our own together our parents preferred the quiet of the forest while we lived in town.

"I'm not a sleepy Owl!" I told my brother.

"You are if I say you are!" Mushroom replied, setting a plate of food in front of me.

I munch on my food in silence while I think over the night's dream.

"That was delicious thanks." I say. "I think I'll be heading out to the market."

"Alrighty bye." Mushroom replied, giving a wave of acknowledgement.

I began to walk away when I heard my brother call after me. "Bye Ever...the sleepy Owl!"

He is not going to let that silly nickname go, is he? I thought to myself as I used my plant powers to open the front door, the vines curving out of my way so I can walk through.

I took off from her porch, tilting my wings to angle towards the market island, I was always excited to see what the shopkeepers had to offer in their stalls, the best part was how close the island was to where I live.

I spotted the island within seconds, tipping my wings to fly down to the island, landing in the least crowded spot I could find, market was surprisingly popular considering some of the Paleran tribes disliked each other.

I look around at all the shops and started walking along a well worn path path, looking at the stalls I pass with wide, curious eyes.

(<On the other side of the market>)

I walk alongside another dragon of my tribe the Winterhorns, her name is Crystal, she was extremely annoying Winterhorn which my parents decided was to be my future mate, so they forced me to spend time together with her.

I was in quite a snowstom of a mood, as the prince of the Winterhorn tribe, I figured he should get to choose who I fell in love with, but that was one of many things my mother kept under her firm grasp.

"Prince Permafrost?" Crystal spoke, inclining her head toward me.

"What now Crystal!" I snap, turning an icy glare on her. I didn't really like Crystal but his mother insisted on having her with me all the times in hopes they would start to like each other in due time.

"Why don't we go check out that stall over there?" Crystal suggested, pointing towards a stall practically overflowing with jewelry.

She wasn't at all bothered with me growling at her or at least she didn't show she was.

"Don't we have enough jewelry." I respond.

"You can never have too much, but there's always too little." Crystal answered. "And we have way too little." Crystal said.

I only have a semi-translucent cloak and a Saphire earring for my accessories. And I think that's quite enough

"No we are not stopping. " I reply with a growl.

If they want someone important to be my mate why not choose Quartz she is a nice dragon and she happens to be the Winterhorn's librarian, but nooooo.... he had to be stuck with Crystal the most annoying Winterhorn ever, actually the most annoying creature ever. I thought with a annoyed flick of my tail.

"You have been quite thoughtful today." Crystal observed.

"Yeah? so what..." I respond.

"I was just saying what I see." Crystal answered.

Hm so I'm actually the one annoying her now? Oh, how the tables have turned... I thought with a small smile that quickly disappeared.

"Was that a smile? Did I make you happy?" Crystal asked, giving a grin, obviously excited at the prospect that she may have cheered me up.

"No, it wasn't a smile." I answer.

"It looked like one." Crystal replied.

I let out a annoyed growl.

"Prince Permafrost, what's wrong?" Crystal asked.

"You being annoying, that's what!" I snapped and walked away from her, she followed me because of course she did she had hang out with me.

(<Back with Evergreen>)

"That's her, your Stormtalon." A voice in the back of my mind spoke, it sounded a lot like the Prophecyer from my dream.

I glance around until I spotted the, rather ordinary looking gray dragon, A Stormtalon. her mind echoed... "The Stormtalon."

I walked towards the dragon, is she really the dragon from the prophecy? She looks like pretty much every other Stormtalon I've seen here...

"Um.. hi, my name is Evergreen but you can call me Ever, I'm a Rosewing." I say, catching the Stormtalon's attention.

"Well hello there, I'm Gale." The Stormtalon replied, taking my talon to shake it as a greeting.

"So do StormTalon control the all storms? Like everywhere?" I ask curiously.

"Not all storms, we just control a few at a time, we stop stuff like hurricanes coming to Palera" Gale answered, stretching out her wings, and I noticed a little bolt of electricity run along them.

"Oh ok, that makes more sense, that's actually really nice of the StormTalons to do. " I say. "I'm gonna go and see what else is for sale now... see you later?"

"Sure, bye Ever!" Gale replied.

I walked off, I look down in her bag to look and see how many Shards I have left, not that many... I observed, running the small crystals through my claws, I glanced up at one of the stalls, a beautiful flower contained in a vase sat upon one of the tables.

"Hey uh how much does that flower cost" I ask.

"One hundred Shards." the stall owner said, staring down his snout at me. "Why? Are ya interested?"

"Why so much?" I ask "Because it's rare little Rosewing." the stall owner replied. "Obviously."
the stall owner was a male Swiftclaw, I knew some of the cat-like tribe thought lowly of my tribe, although I wasn't sure as to why.

"I'd like to buy it" another Rosewing said, holding up a light blue 100-Shard piece.

"Alright, that'll be one-hundred Shards." the Swiftclaw said, holding out a talon so the Rosewing could hand over the payment.

"ok here you go" the Rosewing said, the stall owner handed over the flower to the Rosewing.

It's not that rare I've seen it all over the island she thought but maybe it's more rare at other places and maybe it's also because I've never seen that color before for it. I thought, turning away.

I looked around to see what the other stalls have to offer today because the one I was at was extremely expensive and I couldn't afford anything from that stall

"Hey Rosewing! Over here!" came a voice. "What?" I say as I turned my head to see a TideStream called she had a stall of her own.

"I've got some stuff to buy and sell." the Tidestream stall owner replied waving me over.

I walk over to the stall and I offered a piece of crystal that I'd uncovered from the dirt in my village.

"That is really rare! Or at least it is rare in the my kingdom, it sells for 200 Shards at least!" the Tidestream stall owner said. "Are you alright with selling it?"

"I think I'll sell it." I say with a smile. "I could use the extra money."

"Thanks!" the Tidestream said, passing over two 100-Shard pieces. "You're welcome!" I replied, putting the Shards in my bag.

I looked at some of the other stalls and what they were selling.

That Tidestream was nice to give me so much for a little crystal bit, they pointed out their stall, but then again I guess that's what they need to keep there stall open. I thought.

I noticed the sun was starting to set. I should probably get home now. I thought, I walked to a less crowded area so I could take off without crashing my wings into someone, I found a place and took off flying back to the Rosewing island.

I wonder if there are more tribes beyond Palera? Maybe there are other tribes somewhere else. I thought to myself during my short flight. I had read in history books that the Swiftclaws and Cometflights came to Palera from somewhere else, I often found herself wondering if there were other islands out there, other places where other dragons might live, I knew my brother pondered that theory too.

I landed down in front of my house and opened the door to find Mushroom was getting ready to make dinner. "Hey Mushroom, do you mind if I help you make dinner?" I ask.

His head flashed up "Not at all, I could definitely use some help." Mushroom answered, she sittled up beside him and they worked on dinner together, playing around with each other, they ended up needing a small break because they were laughing to hard.

"Okay now I think we are done" I state as we finish up."Well let's eat" Mushroom suggested, carrying our plates over to the table, we sat down to eat and began to eat.

"Wow! This tastes amazing!" I say, stuffing my mouth full with the delicious food."Remember Ever, you helped make this." Mushroom tells me. "You deserve some of the credit."

We had made a salad and cut up some fruit to go with it, soon enough we had finished eating our dinner. "It was fun to make that together" I say "Yeah it was" Mushroom agreed with an nod.

"So what should we do now?" I ask. He shrugged. "I'm not really sure..." Mushroom replied. "We could....take a sunset walk?"

"We could find a place to watch the sunset!" I added to the plan, I hopped up and began to excitedly bounce in place. "Let's do it!"

"Yeah, let's go!" he agreed. I follow him outside and across the village.

"How about we watch the sunset from the beach?" Mushroom suggested. "Yeah! That's a good idea!" I agree. We reached the edge of the island and dropped from the cliff onto the soft sand of the beach.

"I don't think many Rosewings come down here." Mushroom said. "Maybe cause they like being in the forest or in town" I suggested. "And I'll admit, it is more comforting to be surrounded by the power of plants."

"But it makes this place our little spot to watch the sunset." He said, tenting a wing around me. We sat down and watched the sun slowly set under the sea.

"The sunset is beautiful" I comment. "Yeah, it really is." Mushroom agreed. "If only more Rosewings knew how beautiful it is." I say with an sigh. "Imagine how fun it could be to have a party with the tribe at sunset."

Stars were now twinkling far above us. I wonder if any dragon has tried to get closer to the stars?

"Should we head back now?" Mushroom asked. "We probably should but it's nice being out here." I respond.

The cool wind blew across her scales, it was relaxing, as was the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach.

"Yeah, it really is nice out here." Mushroom agreed.

"So is there a council meeting tomorrow?" I ask, turning to look at him.

"Yeah..." he sighed, his wings drooping by his side. "And Fern is probably going to try and make a huge deal about 'purifying the tribe' like she always is... so that'll be annoying."

"You know." I begin, casting him a smirk. "I think she might like you."

"Uh, no way! Not happening." Mushroom replied with a snort.

"How do you know Fern-Shroom is not gonna happen?" I ask.

"Because I don't have any of those kinda feelings for her." Mushroom answered with a wing flap, which showed he was annoyed with this conversation.

"It's pretty surprising, how different Lichen is from Fern." I say, remembering Fern's calm younger brother. "Yeah, he is a nice dragon, it would be better if he was in the council instead of Fern." Mushroom replied.

"Okay, I think it's time to head home or we will be tired in the morning." Mushroom states. "Okay" I respond,
We got up and walked home

Mushroom let out a huge yawn as we walked up the stairs of our house and walked inside. "Let's head to bed." Mushroom said.

We walked down the hallway to our bedrooms, I went into mine and Mushroom went into his which was across the hall from mine own.

My room is filled with random stuff I find interesting at the market, like stones that I thought were cool looking or carvings that dragons did or even jewels I found to be interesting, I have an desk where I well keep scrolls from my parents or friends which my Hawk Windrider delivered.

Windrider was quite friendly, both me and Mushroom could understand him as well as the rest of her family and he wouldn't question my requests no matter how silly, so me and Windrider are close, I well give him rest as long as he needed to before delivering the next message.

But he was currently delivering a message to my parents, my mother has vines that grew from her head like mine, but my father is an normal Rosewing with a flower on his head, but he didn't seem care that some of his family were, as Fern would say, misfits.

I climbed into my bed and closed my eyes, slipping immediately into a relaxing dream where I lay on a beach with the wind blowing across my scales and the sounds of the waves, it was nice and peaceful and I wanted to stay in that dream forever but I couldn't, I found myself waking back up for another day on the Rosewing island.

It was early the sun was barely above the trees. why do I have to wake up this early? I tried to get back to sleep but I couldn't, it felt as though I was barely asleep before I woke back up.

I got up out of bed, maybe I could try doing some carving herself but I didn't have anything to carve,
I had decided since she woke up so early she would make them breakfast.

Mushroom walked out, not realizing that I was out there. "Morning sleepy snail" I teased.

He jumped and looked over and saw me. "I'm not a sleepy snail" Mushroom said. "Are you sure your kinda slow and you woke up way after me." I ask.

He sighed. "I guess your right about the being kinda slow. When did you wake up?" Mushroom asked.
"As the sun was rising, I couldn't get back to sleep." I answer.

"Oh Ever, you can't wake up that early! Then I can't call you a sleepy Owl!" Mushroom complained. "Is that your only reason I can't wake up early?" I ask.

"No. You'll probably be tired today." Mushroom answered. "So you actually have a good reason?" I ask. "Yeah I do." Mushroom answered.

I scooped some of the food I had prepared onto one plate, handing it to Mushroom before filling the second plate with the rest of the food for me.

We sat down at the table, chatting and eating our breakfast.

"Alright, I should probably head out... see you tonight, Ever." Mushroom said, walking out of there house.

I decided that she would head out to see some of her friends, I walked out of the house.

Will my friends even be up at this time? because Mushroom was coming out to start making breakfast when we ate...

I saw Lichen out in the village. "Hey Lichen" I greet him.

He turned his head in my direction, Lichen was a blind dragon. But that didn't mean he wanted to be treated any different

"Hi Evergreen. How are you?" he spoke in his usual calm tone as he made his way over to me. "I'm good how about you" I respond.

"I'm doing good. Fern is too." Lichen answered.

"Where is she?" I ask though I'm pretty sure I already know the answer.

"She went out to the council meeting a little while ago." Lichen answered. "Oh, so did Mushroom." I say.

"Fern likes him, I think they could be good together." Lichen said. "Mushroom doesn't think so, he isn't very fond of her for some reason. " I reply.

"Hm, my sister can be secretive but she is still nice if you spend time to get to know her." Lichen said.

Lichen always acted as though he could see, even though he was blind, he had said before that he could see through the plants but no one really believed him because there had been no Plantseers in a long time, many years, some even thought they didn't exist in the first place.

"I hate the fact others think I need all this help just because I'm blind" Lichen complained.

"Yeah it definitely sounds annoying to deal with after awhile" I agree.

"I noticed you and Mushroom were out late last night." Lichen said.

"Yeah we watched the sunset, then talked for a while and then Mushroom decided it was time to go home because it was really late and we didn't want to exhausted today." I reply.

"Ah that makes sense, the sunsets are actually quite nice at the beach." Lichen nods.

"So would you agree with me that the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore is relaxing?" I ask. "it is indeed." Lichen agreed.

"I just really like the feel of the breeze against my scales and sound of the waves." I say.

"Yeah it must be easier to feel the breeze on the beach then it is in the forest with all the trees blocking the wind." Lichen replied.

Lichen was a misfit, just like me from the fact he had a bit of lichen covering his eyes.

We talked for a while, Lichen was one of my friends a close one. "Why don't we take a walk together" Lichen suggested

"Alright let's go." I agree.

We walked out into the forest together which Lichen knew his way around like he wasn't blind.

I noticed something in a lilac bush shift almost as though a branch just disappeared without being broken off.

I noticed something off about a lilac bush a few feet away, it seemed as though a branch was moving, though none of the other branches on the bush were "There is another Rosewing watching us." Lichen commented.

As soon as he spoke, a mostly light purple dragon stepped out of the bush, she had green around her eyes, mouth, and legs and she had lighter purple horns and instead of the normal flower she had a branch of lilac on her head, and an fierce expression on her face.

"I was wondering what you two were doing out here and so close to my home as well." the new Rosewing said, eyeing Lichen curiously, not even seeming to notice me.

"We didn't realize we were close to your home, we can leave if you'd like?" I offered, the dragon's gaze drifting over to me. "You can stay around here if you don't go in my house." she replied.

"We won't we promise." I tell her.

The female Rosewing paused before giving a sharp nod And turning away. "Good."

"Let's get back to the village." I say. Lichen gave a nod to show he agreed, and we walked back to the village, my brain already trailing off to think of the prophecy, I wonder where the other members of the prophecy are.../ her mind spoke. /and... above all that, I hope they are willing to help me.. or all Palera may be doomed after all...
