Creatures of Madara
Wyatt carried Benji out of the room in his arms just as Reina placed her hand on the wall, sending a wave of power through the room. Edgar stared at the door, feeling the same aura he had felt around Reina in the Recovery Room. It was as if she was the room.
"What did you just do?"
"I barricaded the room. No one will be able to come out or go in." She glanced at him. "Why do you ask?"
"I felt it," he stated then looked back at the opening. He reached his hand out to pass through it, but something invisible, hard and cold stopped him.
"We don't have time for this, Reina," Wyatt spoke up, distracting Edgar from the force that prevented him from going into the room. "We need to get him out of that room. Can you teleport him to the deck?"
"I wish I could. I need to touch Silas for that. The only thing I can do right now is send him to sleep, and I need him to make eye contact with me."
Wyatt hissed then looked away. "Is Xavier still here?"
Reina turned to him and frowned. "There's no time for a Magic Circle."
"Magic Square." Wyatt corrected, adjusting Benji in his arms so his head rested on his chest. "He could seal him in a magic square and then we can move him to the deck."
"But that would need physical contact, and as you can see, Silas is on fire." She turned away to stare at the curly haired boy in the room and bit her lip.
"Then all we need to do is put out the fire and get Xavier to do the ritual right?" Edgar spoke up, causing both eyes to fall on him.
Reina glanced at Wyatt and some silent message passed between them because they both nodded. Reina gripped Edgar's arm and said, "I'm going to get Xavier. Tell me if he moves or if anything happens, okay?"
"Yes."
"Hold Benji," Wyatt said quickly just as Reina dashed off. He handed his friend to him and added hurriedly, "I'm going to get a pail of water. We don't have much time. If the flames get larger, scream."
"Got it." Edgar nodded then adjusted his friend in his arms just as Wyatt turned a corner. Benji had always been so heavy to lift, but now, he felt oddly lighter. It had to be the Bloodboar helping him.
Looking back into the room, Edgar felt the heat from it. It made his body feel warm, and he dared not move any closer to the opening. Suddenly, Silas moved for the first time since he had seen him, dropping his hands to his sides lazily and throwing his head back.
The next sound Edgar heard was a cry. Almost like a small whimper. That confused Edgar since Silas had been screaming before, so he tried to read his emotions. Everything was red, but not the light red that meant happiness. It was dark with anger, and Edgar only had a little bit of time to scream before the room blew up, destroying the barricade.

Where am I?
Where are you?
Am I dead?
I wouldn't be here if you were.
"Who are you?" Silas managed.
"Call me Vera."
A twinkle of light appeared between them, illuminating Vera's white fur and her bright yellow eyes. She sat on her hind legs in front of him and a purr escaped her when her eyes met his. Silas instantly took to his feet, expecting her to jump him again but she didn't move. She lifted her paw to her face and licked it before looking up at him.
You should sit. I wouldn't attack you again.
Her lips didn't move, but he heard her voice loud and clear.
"I don't trust you."
Then stand.
She continued licking her fur, no longer minding him.
Silas took a step away from her then stared around, seeing nothing but the candlelight in front of the Madara. He had no idea where he was. Was he back home? In his real home? Or was he in the middle of nowhere? Middle of nowhere seemed like the right answer considering everything he was seeing.
He tried to recall what he had last seen, but all he could muster was the huge cat's face trying to rip his throat open. Was Benji even okay? Did that man kill him? Did he charm Benji?
Stop with all the thoughts. I can hear them loud and clear. You want answers? Shut up and sit down.
Vera growled, dropping her paw down and meeting his eyes. You need to sit down Silas.
"How do you know my name?" He gaped at the beast, wondering how much she knew.
I am in your mind, Silas. Just the way you saw the Fang in Benji.
That got Silas' attention. It made little sense since he could actually understand what she was saying. However, he did not enjoy the fact that she knew things about him and he knew nothing. Worse than that, he had no idea where he was. At least, when Benji and Edgar encountered their Runes, it looked like a piece of memory.
That's because the Runes were being controlled by someone else and they were able to subdue the beast. In your case, it's in your hands. You pull the reigns, boy.
A memory of when Reina had told them the Witch's hold on the Runes would soon leave appeared like a giant screen in a cinema room beside him. It was on repeat until he looked back at the Madara and everywhere went dark again except the small candle light.
"How do I get out of here? I don't feel in control. Can you tell me what is going on?" He walked back in front of her. Now, he was sure he was in his own mind. He just needed to get himself together. Mentally and physically.
Right now, your power type is trying to get control of your body. Meaning it's trying to regulate its ability to match with your body. That way, it doesn't give out too much and hurt you, and therefore itself.
"How can I tell it to stop?"
Just take control of it.
"How? Where do I start? Oh god," Silas panicked, rubbing his temples before dropping to his knees in front of the beast. He no longer cared if the creature jumped him.
I said I wouldn't, didn't I? Vera stood up on her hinds then took a step forward, causing Silas's heart to drum in his chest. However, he didn't move, trusting his instincts and the beast used that chance to nuzzle his cheeks. Silas nearly sneezed from her whiskers brushing his nose but held it back as Vera nuzzled down his neck all the way to his back.
Raising a brow, he asked, "What are you doing? You might be able to read my mind, but I can't do the same to yours."
I am trying to calm you down. The control you seek is within yourself. You just need to be calm. Vera appeared on the other side of him and pushed his arm away so she could crawl into his lap. The large cat-like beast hardly fit into his lap then turned to him and said, Make me smaller.
"How?"
Just want it.
Silas gaped at the beast, wondering if she understood how confused he was. Just want it? It was easier said than done. Taking a deep breath, he sat down and tried to cross his legs with the large cat on top of him. When he finally got to his desired position, he took another deep breath and closed his eyes.
Just want it. He repeated those words to himself, but when he opened his eyes, the Madara was still the same and met his gaze with a bored stare.
Don't just say it. Imagine it. What size? What color? Imagine, boy.
She scoffed then continued playing with her tail. After rolling his eyes, Silas closed his eyes again and tried for an image like Vera had said. He ran a hand over the Madara's fur, down her slim body to her tail listening to her purr. Her thick and fluffy fur felt soft against his fingers. It felt easier to picture Vera's features, her body, tail, head, but smaller.
A small meow slipped passed her, and Silas had to pop an eye open. Instead of the large glistening silver furred beast, there was a white kitten, and it jumped on all fours. Silas stared, surprised as the kitten circled itself then looked up at him.
This is how you see me?
Vera was offended, it was evident in the way she sneered, but Silas couldn't help but chuckle. He couldn't believe how she went from scary monster to absolutely adorable kitty.
"Well-"
Enough about me, Silas. Focus on that candle light. She pointed with her small sharp claw at the little light in front of them. Vera got off him and circled the candle. If you can control this, then we can get back in control of your body. Right now, we don't know what the power type has done to your body or your surroundings. Turning back to him, Vera's eyes narrowed. It could have hurt someone and very badly.
Silas swallowed. He had no idea where his body was, if he was still in Omar or even on the ship. If he was on the ship, that would put Reina and so many people in danger. It would put Edgar and Ava at risk of getting burned. Silas didn't want that at all.
Staring at the candle, he reached his hand out over the flame and bit his lips when he felt the heat on his palm. The fire was very well real. Glancing at Vera, he expected some kind of advice, anything that told him if there was a trick to it, but the kitten just stared at the fire. Silas took a deep breath before reaching for the wick and killing the only light visible.
It became so dark that Silas could hardly sense where anything was. He looked around hoping to find Vera or at least a light from somewhere in the darkness, but nothing. Groaning, he said, hoping Vera would hear him, "What now?"
Light it back up.
Silas sputtered, cupping his face in his hands. How did I get into this situation? He should have gotten his beasts and powers earlier like Edgar and Benji.
"How am I going to do that?"
You felt the heat, right? Create one just like it. You have a 'create and control' kind of power type. One thing you must know is that they both work hand in hand. Good luck.
Silas blinked, instantly feeling some sort of loss. He called out to Vera, but the beast didn't respond. What was happening? Silas had no idea. All he had left was Vera's final words, and they did nothing to clear up his confusion. He only hoped as he began to work on the candle light that he wasn't someplace where he could hurt someone.
