"You seem excited," Hyunjae commented, shooting Yerin a sidelong glance as they waited together at the bus stop.

"I am," she said, looking down at their hands, at their intertwined fingers. "How could I not be? I'm going to school with you, and I'm going to get to show off the fact that you're my boyfriend. Mine," she told him, her voice teasing.

"Wow, possessive much?" he joked, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

She tried and failed to bite back her smile. "You're mine," she told him. "Just like I'm yours. All yours."

"Is that so?" he said, his voice dropping. He tugged on her hand, pulling her closer. He wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned down so that they were nose to nose.

She felt her heart skip a beat. "Hyunjae, we're in public!" she squeaked, looking around. She felt her face heat up and she unconsciously tried to lift her hand to her face to cool it off... except Hyunjae's hug had ended up pinning her arms to her sides.

"Okay, and?" he said cheekily, tilting his head to one side slightly, like a puppy.

Yerin hesitated for about two seconds before she tippy-toed, giving him a quick peck on the lips. He giggled, leaning back a little as he looked at her, an expression of wonder on his face.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she teased. "You're making me blush."

"Because I can't believe you're real," he said simply. "I can't believe that one person could make me this happy. "You're amazing, you know that?"

Her heart felt so full, she thought it might burst. She tippy-toed again, stringing her arms around his neck this time, she examined his face. She memorized everything, the way his lips looked when he smiled, the little mole on his nose that she always had the urge to poke, his beautiful eyes, full of expression. She wanted to hold onto everything. She never wanted to forget. She wanted to remember the way he sounded when he laughed and the way her heart broke when he cried. She wanted to remember the feel of his hugs and the way holding hands with him made her feel like the luckiest person on the planet.

At the corner of her eye, she saw the bus approaching.

"I want to remember you," she whispered. "Forever."

"Then do," he said softly, his hands on her waist as he pulled her closer. Now, their noses were touching. "When you find your way back to your world, don't let me forget you, okay? Don't write in someone else. Let me remember you."

A small smile played on her lips, even as her eyes filled with tears. "I'm not letting you get away from me," she told him firmly. "I'm not losing you. I won't. We'll... we'll figure something out. Some way to stay together."

He nodded, wordlessly bringing down his lips to meet hers.

She felt the tears running down both of their faces as they kissed, and she cursed herself for creating such an awful situation. Such a tragic fate.

Because she didn't know how they were supposed to stay together. It seemed impossible. By falling for each other, the only thing they were going to do was bring each other pain.

And yet she couldn't regret it.

She couldn't regret liking him. She couldn't regret meeting him. Even if it would be painful, she was grateful for the beautiful moments they were having together. She was grateful for the painful things too. She was just grateful for him.

In that kiss, she tried to tell him everything that she was too scared to say with words. She poured in her hopes and dreams. Her fears and her guilt. She tried to tell him that she loved him, she loved him so much that her heart physically hurt any time she thought about the possibility of being separated from him.

Needless to say, they missed the bus.

But it didn't matter. Nothing mattered, so long as she could be in his arms.
