The cursed peridot
I like this one. It's still not my fave though. The last one was my fave. This was written after the IOS update that allowed italics, bold, and underline. I may have to redo parts of it because this is all copied and pasted. All the ones before it were written before that update!
The Cursed Peridot
"Come on Cobra, you don't wanna be late for breakfast at the oasis do you?" I shouted over my shoulder as I ran through the crowded streets of the Scorpion Den, the sunlight glinting off my amber necklace. "Come-ing," I heard my best friend pant back, Diamondback had already flown to the oasis. I saw that the street we were running down was blocked by a few market stands, one of which was owned by an IceWing, which is crazy since this is the desert and IceWings live in the arctic region of Pyrrhia, which is north of the desert. I skidded to a halt right in front of a cactus juice stand, only to be knocked into it by Cobra. "COBRA!!" I shouted at her, at least neither of us got scratched by our poisonous tail barbs. "Sorry," she apologized. We jumped into the air and started flying in the direction of the oasis, "HEY GET BACK HERE!!" The owner of that particular stand shouted after us. Finally, we got there, and just in the nick of time too. "Hey where's your brother?" I asked peering around the oasis with my amber eyes. "I don't know where Scorpion is Amber." She responded also peering around with her black eyes, you see the thing is, most SandWings have pale golden scales or white scales the color of desert sand, black eyes, a forked black tongue, and a poisonous tail barb that looks like a scorpions, oh and did I mention that SandWings also radiate heat and can breath fire? Also some SandWings have light brown patters on their scales. But I'm a little different from the rest of my tribe, I have amber colored eyes, while my scales have pale amber swirls that are a little rough around the edges. Like the rest of my tribe, my main scale color is pale gold and I radiate heat. "Hey there," said a voice from behind me. Instinctively, I arched my scorpion-like tail over my back and whirled around hissing. "Whoa there it's just me Amber." Scorpion said. "You know better than to sneak up on me like that!" I say a little harshly. I curled my tail into a safe little spiral so it wouldn't scratch anyone, which happened quite often in the crowded streets. "Now everyone get in a line youngest to oldest so we can hand out your breakfast!" I hear one of the Outclaws saying. Scorpion, Cobra, and I got somewhere in the middle so we can receive the four roasted lizards that all the dragonets in the Scorpion Den are given every morning at sunrise.
After we received our lizards, we chose a nice quiet spot under a shady Palm tree to eat. Gnawing on one of the roasted lizards, I grab one of the coconuts on the ground. As we finished our breakfast, Scorpion asked, "Hey what should we do today?" "Let's play hot coconut," I answer. Tossing the nut in the air, I breathed a plume of fire on it to heat it up. Cobra caught it shifting it from talon to talon then quickly throwing it at her brother who juggled it for a minute then passed it to me. As I bounced it from talon to talon it started to cool down. When I tried to toss it back to Cobra I fumbled and the coconut fell into the oasis. "Oops," I say, slightly embarrassed. As I go to pick it up from the water it suddenly cracks in two. Revealing a large greenish-gold gem. I picked it up to take a closer look, and realized that it was a peridot. "Huh, I wonder what this gem is doing here." I said. We were in the middle of a terrible drought. I hope it rains before the oasis dries up. I thought filling my head with refreshing rain, then, all of a sudden, it started to rain. Confused, I looked at The Cursed Peridot

We were in the middle of a terrible drought. I hope it rains before the oasis dries up.I thought filling my head with refreshing rain, then, all of a sudden, it started to rain. Confused, I looked at the sky and saw storm clouds gathering. "Everyone get to your homes, or if you live in a tent seek shelter with someone who lives in a house!" I heard Thorn, the leader of the Outclaws, shout. "Come on Diamondback, let's go home!" I called to the two year old dragonet that my mother was in the process of adopting. "Coming Amber," I heard the small desert sand brown dragon call back to me. "Come on let's go home Diamondback before the storm gets any worse." "Ok." The four of us flew back to my father's house where we were all living at the time. While Diamondback, Cobra, and I flew through our bedroom window Scorpion went around back to fly through his window. As soon as I saw the pattern that looked exactly like a diamondback rattlesnake's disappear through the window, I went inside followed by Cobra. I still had the peridot in my talon. "It's strange," said Diamondback. "What's strange?" Cobra asked. "I mean it's strange how we were just in the middle In a large drought and this storm comes out of nowhere," she responded. "Hmm" I mused looking at the peridot. For some reason it gave off a feeling that reminded me of the good times I had when it rained at the stronghold.
Rain, rain, rain, and more rain pitter-pattered outside as we played a game of find the leaf. The leaf is actually one of my necklaces that has a green, leaf-shaped pendant. "Found it!" Cobra cheerfully shouted. After I put the necklace back on I looked out the window to see that all the streets were a mess of mud. I picked up the peridot that I found earlier, Maybe it's animus touched. I thought. I tried filling my head with rain, and the rain got harder. "Uhh guys," I said nervously while looking at the gem in my talons. "Yes?" They answered in unison. "I—I think this peridot is animus touched!" I said, panic in my voice. They looked over at the gem. "H—how do you kn—know?" said a slightly panicked Diamondback. "When I filled my head with rain it started raining harder." I explained. "Then fill your head with sunshine!" Cobra said sounding really panicked. Sunshine, no rain at all, just warm sunny days, chase the rain out with sunlight I thought, and for a moment, the rain let up a little. Then it started pounding even harder than before. "Maybe everyone needs to think about warm sunny days," Diamondback offered hopefully. "How about the three of us think about the sunshine and the sun?" Cobra asked "It's worth a try," I said and filled my head with the sunlight and warmth of the bright desert sun. I thought about sunshine so hard that beads of sweat popped up on my face. Suddenly the rain decreased greatly, and after an hour stopped completely, still for another 30 minutes or so we stayed like that until we were sure it had stopped. We decided to hide the peridot in our little secret hideout, which we had tunneled underground to make. I won't say where it is, but I will say that we hid it in our hideout, locked in a small treasure chest, made from emeralds and decorated with gold. Buried deep under our hideout. If you're thinking about finding it and using it, you're out of luck, because there are no maps of where it is, and no one even probably knew of its existence before now.
Ok, at one time I considered making a book with these dragons in it.
