Tell tale sequal
This is one I did for my old school last year! It's been FOREVER!! At least, that's how it feels to me. Well, on with it!
I looked at the apartment complex that would be my home while I worked on creating a pegasus using science like what I had done with my pet gryphon, Snowdrift, using a bald eagle and a snow leopard. My gryphon took one look at the house, squawked, and pulled on her leash trying to get away. "What's gotten into you Snowdrift?" I ask her, she just squawks and pulls harder on her leash. Shrugging I enter the old house that was turned into an apartment complex a year ago. I find the owner and ask her where my apartment is. She introduces herself as Mary Hanning and leads me to my new apartment, but she stops when she sees my gryphon, who is still pulling at her leash. "What is that?", she asks. "This is my gryphon, Snowdrift.", I answer. "Wow did you use science to create her?", she asks curiously. "Yes, I did.", I patiently answer. "Oh, well here we are at your new apartment", she says. By now Snowdrift is pulling so hard on her leash that I almost lose my grip. I quickly get out one of her favorite things, a small amethyst that I got when I was a teenager. She immediately stops pulling and grabs the amethyst in her talon. Mary opens the door and I see the new apartment is perfect for me and Snowdrift; it has three rooms attached and each one has a window large enough for a seventh grader to jump through, but the bathroom has a small little window. Snowdrift walks in and settles down on the couch that, like all the other furniture, I had brought in before I got here. "Wow, did you arrange the furniture before I came?", I ask Mary. "Yes, I did. Why? Do you like it?", she says. "I sure do, and so does Snowdrift.", I say. She just simply nods her head and asks out of the blue, "Do you like Greek mythology?" stunned I answer, "Yeah I really like the legends.". She nods and whispers, "They say this place is haunted by an old man you know." I'm stunned by this news so I whisper back, "Really? I had no idea" then after a quick glance at Snowdrift I continue, "that's why Snowdrift wanted to get away when she first saw this house.". Mary simply nods and walks over to the gryphon and puts her hand in front of Snowdrift's beak; "I wouldn't do that if I were you.", I warn her. Then my jaw drops open as Mary starts to pet Snowdrift. Shocked I say, "Snowdrift doesn't usually let anyone but me pet her, she must think that your a good person to let you do that.". "Really?", Mary asks. I nod then Snowdrift raises her head as Mary stops petting the gryphon; listening I feel the color wash out of my face as I hear a dull sound such as a pocket-watch makes when enveloped by cotton. I see Mary's face pale as the sound gets louder, and louder, and louder. Snowdrift starts growling. Then my gryphon leaps onto the floor and walks to a spot where the sound seems loudest. She pulls up the floorboard and we see a perfectly preserved heart and eye. Mary and I scream then I stop screaming, look at her, and say, "Have you read the Percy Jackson series?". She looks at my like I'm crazy and answers, "Yes I have. Why?". I answer, "You know that symbol for warding off evil, the three fingers in the shape of a claw and pushed outwards?" She nods and I say, "Well I was thinking, if we both do it at the heart and the eye maybe they will disappear.". Mary says, "Your crazy but it's worth a try.". Together we make the Ancient Greek gesture of three fingers in the shape of claws and push our hands towards the heart and the eye; they disappear never to be seen again.
*cringes at the grammar, punctuation, and (possible) capitalization mistakes* this is horrible.... Well, after all, it IS one of my earlier pieces.
