◎Nephilims◎
There was this documentary I'm about to watch, and it is about the Nephilim.
Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
-NIV
The Anakim or Anakites - supposedly were offsprings of the Nephilim with human beings. They were giants that walked in this earth, one example is Goliath.
Numbers 13:33
And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them."
-ESV
As it was about to start, I remembered the story of David and Goliath.
And from that it was impressed unto me...
I realized that giants are huge and very intimidating.
Giants these days can be our problems as well.
Debts, addiction, enemies, hopelessness, depression, anxiety - things that are "impossible" to overcome or beat, depending on how we "see" them.
So how did David win?
David battled it head on with the strength that comes from GOD - targeting Goliath's weakness - its head! He used a simple weapon, a stone. Our rock is the Lord!
Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
- ESV
Its strength comes from the head and so does its weakness.
Giants are as big as our minds allow them to be.
They have the power to control and intimidate us if we allow it inside our head.
May the Lord help us become overcomers through Christ Jesus!
None of us is perfect but we are more than conquerors through Him that died on the cross for us.
The one whose head had been pierced with thorns. Thorns that signify the curses that were cast upon us.
Genesis 3:18-20
Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return."
-NKJV
Matthew 27:27-29
Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said.
-NIV
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- ESV
To God be the glory and may we remain in HIM and His presence from this day onwards.
