This happened during the Alaska Earthquake of 2018.

I was in my first period Math Class. I was just talking to one of my friends before packing up to go. Suddenly, the room began to shake and my first thought was a gym class was running up on the floor above us, but then it got worse and someone said "Earthquake!!" And we got under our desks. I made texts to my friends and family to see if we were okay. One ceiling tile actually got wedged in between the frame and got stuck. We all evacuated over the next three hours. The cafeteria served PB and J's and bottled water to us to pass the time. The school gym was unused for 3-4 months and the stairs got blocked for a couple of weeks. What made it more saddening was that the school play was to open that night, but we got moved to a one night only show at the church across from us, and we pulled through with an amazing performance.
