Y/N and Espio now arrived their destination as they emerge with other travelers, pushing luggage carts as they emerge from custom. Y/N looks around the shiny arrival hall in wonderment.

"I can't believe the airport has a Chao garden and a movie theater. JPK is just salmonella and despair."

"Espio!!! Espio!!!"

Through the crowd runs a female anthropomorphic rabbit. She has mainly light orange-blonde fur with brighter fur around her muzzle. She also has jungle green eyes and purple eyelids. She has mechanical limbs, with her both left arm and legs as she was clutching balloons, rushing up to meet them with an excitement yell. She throttles Espio, wrapping her legs tightly around his waist. Behind her is a brown-furred Mobian coyote about a meter tall with blue eyes, a black nose, and pale yellow fur on his front torso, muzzle and cheek turfs that point upwards. He also has short and neatly combed blonde hair on his head. He's holding a placard that reads 'Best Man.' Espio lights up to see them.

"Espio!!! Espio!!!"

"Bunnie!" Espio wheezed out, hugging Bunnie back.

"I missed you."

"I missed you, too."

Bunnie releases Espio and imediately grabs Y/N in a tight hug. Y/N reacts, surprised, amused, and a little sore from the tight robotic arms that's squeezing her to death. The coyote named Antoine grabs Espio in a hug.

"Y/N." Bunnie greeted.

"Hi." Y/N greeted back with a smile.

"Hey, Antoine." Espio greeted.

"It's great to zee you. How are you?" Antoine smiled.

"I'm good."

"It's so nice to finally meet you." Bunnie said to Y/N.

"It's so nice to meet you, too."

After a good minute of hugging and greeting, they pulled away.

"You guys didn't have to pick us up." Espio said.

"Of course we did. We had to!" Bunnie said.

"Of course I had to come welcome my best man properly."

Antoine turns to Y/N and smiles.

"Hi, Y/N."

"Hello."

They embrace warmly.

"Lovely to zinally meet ya."

"Nice to meet you, too, Antoine."

"Shall we? Let me help you with this."

Antoine took Espio's luggage for him as Bunnie handed the balloons to Y/N.

"And these are for you, Sugah."

"Thank you!"

Y/N handed one of her bags to Espio since his hands were free.

"I know they're a bit over the top." Bunnie giggled nervously.

"Let's get you all localized." Antoine suggested as they walk out of the airport.

"Are you hungry?" Bunnie asked Y/N.

"I'm always hungry. So let's eat everything we can."

"Okay."

Bunnie pushes the luggage cart out the door, flanked by Y/N, Espio, and Antoine. They then head to the open-top SUV with Antoine taking the wheel as Espio sat up front while Y/N and Bunnie took the back as they drive down the highway.

Y/N looked around in awe at how beautiful Japan is as Antoine made it to their destination as he parked in a public parking lot. The group of four stepped out of the vehicle and walked to a large street full of stores. Y/N stares in wonderment at an endless hive of food. Even though it is late, the place teems with hundreds of diners. All eating with great relish. Espio, Bunnie, and Antoine move like seasoned locals. Antoine scans the seating area, spots a table.

"Minty, three o'clock!"

Bunnie hurries over, buys tissue packets from an old Mobian woman.

"ありがとうございました。(Thank you.)"

Bunnie nodded and turned to the group.

"Hey, guys! Here!"

She tosses a tissue packet to Espio and Y/N as they quickly catch it. They then split up from Bunnie and Antoine to grab a few dishes as Espio is excited to share this world with Y/N.

"Many of these places only sell a dish or two. That's because they've been perfecting it for generations. They even have the most popular places you should really try."

Just then, an elderly Mobian gentleman hugged Espio who hugged back.

"エスピオ、お会いできてうれしいです。ここここ。家に。(Espio, glad to see you back. Here, here. On the house.)"

"ありがとうございました。(Thank you.)"

He took a long plate of takoyaki that's clearly Y/N's favorite as he passed it to her and moved on to the next stall.

"1皿に6つのくしやきをお願いします。(6 kushiyakis in one plate please.)"

The Mobian worker handed out the plate. Espio searched briefly before spotting Bunnie and Antoine at a table across the street in a seating area as the pair hurried over, dropped their dishes, and dove into the masses again. Time and time again as they ordered their food until they had enough to feed a small army as Espio and Y/N bought some shave ice. They were all having a good meal. Y/N nearly took all the takoyakis since she loves eating them and Espio has to quickly take some away before she could eat it all.

"Oh, before I forget, I need your help tomorrow. Uh, I need to do some groomsmen stuff and I don't wanna do it alone with Scourge." Antoine said while shivering the last part.

"I still cannot believe that you got that guy to be your groomsman." Espio said.

"Thank you. Thank you. I rest my case." Bunnie said between her bites.

"Well, it wasn't up to me, was it? It's not my choice. Yes, he's a womanizer, but there's no other groomsman better than him and I would love to have Rotor as the next groomsman, but sadly he's been busy."

"That's true. Scourge is the most richest man he manage to afford all by himself. I'm surprised that he accept this offer. Probably to seek some other women."

Antoine raised his glass.

"A toast, guys. To my best man, Espio the Chameleon, who can't fight for nutz, but vill always have your back!"

Everyone cheered to that and drank their glass, and Bunnie continued.

"A toast to married life."

"Not yet, sweetie. Too early, remember?"

"Oh, shoot."

"This time next week." Espio said.

Antoine and Espio carried on with their conversation as Bunnie leaned over to Y/N.

"Listen, Y/N, I know we've only just met, but it's my bachelorette party this weekend and I would love for you to come."

Y/N is surprised, happy to be embraced by Espio's pals.

"Also, I have to say, I can't remember the last time I saw Espio like this."

She turned to notice Espio is smiling happily as he and Antoine were joking around while laughing.

"He's just happy to be home."

Bunnie made a face.

"Oh, yeah, he's just happy to be home. With you."

Y/N keeps looking at Espio until he glances at her with that smile and she falls that much more in love with him. After a good dinner, the four of them driving down the highway in the open-top SUV enjoying the beautiful city. Espio points to various landmarks with glee. We see a view of Mount Fuji that's up ahead, people walking through the forest filled with cherry blossom trees, etc. The girls, in the back seat, put their arms around their guys' necks and snuggle. Bunnie raised her arms up with a cheer.

"Espio's in Tokyo! Whoo-hoo!!"

"It's good to be home." Espio said, looking up at Y/N who smile down at him.

Rouge

Rouge enters her apartment after her steal at the jewelry store as two maids quickly swing into action, taking the bags and unpacking them.

"Is Geoffrey here?" she asked, feeling cautious.

"Not yet, ma'am. Also, your son woke up. He wants to see you."

"Alright. You know what to do. Quickly." Rouge nodded.

The maids nod, knowing the drill. The head Maid hides two bags in a drawer. They begin scurrying around the apartment in a frenzy. One maid puts a small jewelry-sized box tied with a bow in a metal tin and places the lid back on. Another maid stashes a small box in a kitchen drawer and covers it with the cloth napkins. In the bathroom, Rouge places the two boxes that has her earrings and a ring that she bought above the mirror. They received a special spot as they are her favorite.

After changing into something comfortable, she lies by her son, who's half-asleep in bed as she reads The Little Prince to him in perfect French. Since she can speak both English and Japanese, she can also learn French in case she wants to go to Paris she likes to travel.

"Cette visite fut très courte, mais elle plongea le petit prince dans une grande mélancolie..."

Rouge pauses when she hears someone enter the apartment. She looks to her son, now sound asleep, and heads out. Geoffrey the Skunk was already taking the shower as he finishes and exits the bathroom in a towel. He walks to Rouge, who's on the bed as he dries off and gets ready for bed.

"I'm sorry. Got stuck stuck in a meeting. Doing work as a Commander is hard."

"It's okay, sweetie. I get it. But don't forget, wedding festivities start on Wednesday, so no emergencies next week."

Geoffrey sigh at that, looking bitter as he emerged from the closet in his pajama pants.

"I know. Wouldn't dream of missing a second with your family and their friends."

"Come on, it won't be all bad. Espio and his new girlfriend will be there. You'll like her. I heard she's very pretty and smart~"

"Oh, yeah? Why? 'Cause she's a commoner like me?"

"You know that's not what I meant."

"Oh... You know, I thought I caught the maids trying to shove a pair of brand new boots behind the dryer. Yeah, I don't know why you bother trying to hide your shopping or... stealing from me. You can buy or steal whatever you want. I get it. Besides, everybody knows you wear the money pants in this family."

"Pants are overrated." Rouge said, kissing his cheek and remembering something. "Oh, I got you something, too. To celebrate the launch of your startup. I know you don't like expensive gifts, but you're not a captain in the Army anymore. You're a Commander. You should look the part."

She takes the gift out from under the pillow revealing an expensive men's watch.

"I—I love it. Thank you."

Geoffrey leaned in and kissed her and she kissed back.

In the next morning, radio alarm goes off. It's playing Loving Caliber's "You Will Always Be The One." This woke Y/N up with a groan and sleepily turn it off. She smiles when she remembers where she is as she's in a luxurious hotel that's better than her Hawaii's apartment. Espio's arm is around her waist as she turns to see him awake, smiling.

"What time is it?"

"Morning. I'm afraid it's time for me to do some groomsman duties."

"Mmmmmm... Stay in bed." Y/N whined.

Espio chuckled.

"You stay here. I'll get you a breakfast tray."

He gets out of bed as she lazily sits up, putting her headband on.

"You know, I have to get up, too. I told Amy I would meet up with her today."

"Ah, a little reunion." Espio smiled, putting on his gloves. "But don't forget. Dinner at Rosie's tonight."

"Mhm." Y/N nodded.

"The whole family's gonna be there."

"Yeah."

"I can't wait to show you off."

She catch a glance at those nice abs she enjoyed so much. Espio notice it and smirk.

"Like what you see?"

"Can't help it."

Y/N looks at him lovingly. He comes back for one more kiss.

"You're so cute~"

A few hours later, Y/N stepped out of the taxi wearing the blue dress her mother picked and faced the large mansion with a big fountain. She was surprised at how rich this place is and was amazed.

She heard a buzzer, then the gate opens. Another buzzer was heard and the front door opens to reveal Amy Rose as she emerge out with an excited look on her face, jumping up and down.

"EEE!! Y/N!! You're here! You're here!"

She rushes in and hugs her very tightly.

"Aw! Amy!!"

"Yeah!!"

"Oh, my Chaos. You look amazing."

"I know. Some things never change, right?"

"And this is q-quite a place."

Y/N gestured to the mansion she saw earlier. Just then, a lovely rabbit comes out.

"Amy? Sweetie? Who's out there with you?"

It was Vanilla the Rabbit as she look over and gasp.

"Oh, Y/N! Welcome!"

"Hi, Ms. Vanilla!"

"It's getting hot out here. Come in and enjoy the aircon. Come, come. Whole family is waiting to see you. Very excited."

Amy and Y/N followed Vanilla into the home. It was large and grand, and Y/N takes it in, amazed.

"Wow! Your house is amazing, Ms. Vanilla."

"あなたはとても甘い女の子です。(You're such a sweet girl.) Please, call me Vanilla."

"Right."

"These beautiful architectures inspired us. Well, mostly Vector, but it is rather lovely. Come. Lunch is ready."

They are now in the dining room as the family was interesting. Along with Vanilla and Vector the Crocodile she introduced Y/N to and along with Cream and Cheese who greeted her with a lovely flower crown she gladly wore it as she loved it. She even met Charmy the Bee who doesn't hesitate to greet her and then there's Tails who's in daze to see something so beautiful and shyly greet her back. Y/N sat next to Amy across from Tails at a long dining table as four maids serve the anything but 'small' lunch. It's free-for-all as everyone reaches for food.

"We'd like to thank you, Y/N. Amy would've been a mess without you."

"I wasn't that messy!" Amy exclaimed with a pout.

"Yeah. When it comes with dealing with your anger..." Vector mumbled, making her blush in embarrassment.

"Oh, no. If it weren't for Amy, I'd be a big mess of not knowing what I want to do for the future. She was a huge help to me. It's nice to meet you, Vector."

"Nice to meet you, too, Y/N. You're always welcome to come by sometime."

Vanilla comes over and shows her a tray of sweets.

"Here, you should try this. Don't be shy. I made it special with the help of Cream and Cheese."

"Oh, thank you."

Y/N took one and bit it and her eyes gleamed.

"Wow! This is delicious! You've really outdone yourself, Vanilla! You too, Cream and Cheese."

"Thank you, Ms. Y/N." Cream smiled.

"Chao-chao!" Cheese smiled.

"Why, thank you! You could always take some for leftovers."

"Gladly."

Vanilla smiled and went back to her seat to let the family have some desserts.

"So, you're not a model." Vector said, taking a sip of his tea.

"Nope. Never. Not a fan of being checked out or wearing something fancy."

"I see."

He then brought out a large plate of dumplings and put some on Y/N's plate, which she didn't mind.

"Thank you."

"Make sure you eat it all. 'Cause I'm watching you."

"Vector, don't scare her like that." Amy scolded with her mouth full.

"Don't talk with your mouth full, Amy." Vector said.

"Father, can we go on the trampoline?" Cream asked.

"Oh! Can we? Can we??" Charmy excitedly asked.

"Ay, you haven't finished your nuggets yet, sweetie. Okay, there's a lot of children starving in America, right? I mean, take a look at Y/N. She's American. Huh? Really skinny. You wanna look like that?"

"No." Cream shook her head.

"Nope." Charmy said.

"Chao-chao." Cheese shook his head.

"Then eat your nuggets! Please..."

The kids and the Chao dutifully return to their food. Y/N smiled in amusement, remembering her father caught her trying to throw away her veggies she doesn't like to eat and was forced to eat it in front of him, watching her closely.

"So, Y/N, what you do in America? I heard Hawaii sounds lovely." Vanilla asked.

"It is. And I'm a martial art sensei."

"Whoa. Very impressive. A martial art, eh? Wow! You must be very smart and strong. I bet you taught them some ninja moves. Good for you." Vector nodded in approval.

"Mhm." Y/N nodded.

"Let me get this straight. You both went to the same school, yet someone came back with a degree that's useful. And the other came back as a crazy girl with crazy skills as a fashion designer and a matchmaker."

"I'm not that crazy..." Amy growled in her food.

Vector leaned to Tails who's busy eating his food and stop to see him nodding to Y/N.

"Look over here. She's a hottie. This is the kind of girl you should date. Smart, beautiful. Not those, like, K-Pop skanks, with, like, no brain, big eyes and small backsides. She has an amazing backside. Don't be shy. Just talk to her."

Tails looks up from his food, clueless and whispers.

"I love you..."

Y/N giggled at how cute he is.

"Okay, a little bold. But..." Vector said, sweat dropping a little.

"She's here with her boyfriend." Amy pointed out, knowing Vector is also a matchmaker like her.

"I don't see no ring on her finger."

"Oh, well, my boyfriend's actually from Tokyo and that's why we're here. We're here to go to his best friend's wedding where he's gonna be the best man." Y/N said.

"What's his name, sweetie? I bet he sounds handsome." Vanilla said.

"Espio the Chameleon."

The food drops out of Vector's jaw. The whole table stops eating. Eyes go wide. Jaws drop. Even the kids stop what they're doing and look at Y/N. Y/N becomes self-conscious. Amy faces her in disbelief.

"The Chameleon you're dating is Espio?!"

Vanilla puts together as she realizes who he is.

"His best friend... You're invited to Antoine's wedding?!"

"Yeah. Like you know them or something?"

Tails snaps a quick pic of Y/N on his cell. He smiles and admires it.

"Yeah, I mean, who doesn't know who they are? Espio's like my bud. He's part of the Chaotix until we all retired from it and separated. His family and the clan, though, they are so rich and so cultural! The Shinobis, the Yagyus, the Gossamers, Raijus—They're the biggest families in Japan, even in the world. And-and—" Vector explained excitedly.

"She gets it." Amy cut in, calming him down. "Antoine and Bunnie's wedding is, like Tokyo's event in the century! The Clans are like royalty. Did you not know? Did she not know?"

"What are they like?"

"I don't really know what they're --I, I mean, I haven't met them yet. I'm gonna meet them tonight. I'm going to Espio's grandma's house."

"You're going to Espio's grandma's house wearing this? Wearing that?" Amy gestured to her blue dress, making everyone laugh.

Y/N looked around in confusion as she look at herself.

"I thought blue was a lucky color, right?"

"Yeah, if you're an envelope. Zing! Nailed it!" Vector said, making everyone laugh more, except for Y/N and Amy.

Amy is looking Y/N up and down, shaking her head disgusted with her outfit. She pulled Y/N upstairs towards her bedroom to her closet. Amy throws open the doors to her massive walk-in closet. Clothes are color-coded, wrapped in plastic, with a string of polaroids over them showing the different looks. Y/N looks around, in awe.

"Y/N, these people aren't just rich, okay. They're crazy rich. These people are so posh and snobby, they're snoshy. Here you go."

Amy hands her a pair of golden shoes.

"Yeah, but Espio's not like that." Y/N said.

"Even if he isn't, I guarantee you the family is. Which is why tonight, you need to not look like the full female version of your brother Sonic."

Amy then throws her a dress... Y/N looks at the dress in awe.
