Surprise Part III

Sebastian pulled the car over, right in front of my estate, and immediately ran inside. At first I didn't understand what was going on, but then I realized the lights were off. I threw the door of the car open, and jumped out. I was about to tell her to stay inside the car, but she forced her way out.
"Stay here." I instructed her, and she glared at me.
"What? No! I'm going with you, besides being separated is what gets people killed in horror movies!" I couldn't help a small smile at her joke/reference. I sighed, and pulled her behind me.
"Fine, but whatever you do, stay behind me. And if I get shot, run." I cautiously stepped up to the door, right hand gingerly reaching for my hidden gun, the other keeping her behind me. She seemed a little giddy, and when I looked behind me she was biting her lip, and scanning my every move. Was she really that scared? I slowly opened the door, removing my hand from her momentarily, and she seemed to be stifling a giggle. Was she giddy about this? Excited? Oh crap. What if she was a trap? A double agent? I knew I couldn't hurt her, even if she was, and the thought broke my heart. 'You're over thinking it, she probably is just trying to calm herself. Be brave.' I repeated over and over, trying to convince myself it was anything else. I quickly opened the door, and immediately drew my gun. I scanned the room for a moment, but it was pitch black. Then I noticed the shadows adjusting, someone was in here. Two people were. I flipped on a switch and aimed directly for the larger shadow, larder threat. I nearly dropped my gun when Sebastian and Miya were in front of me smiling, but being wary of the gun. They were in front of a small table and a small sign.
"What the hell is going on here?! I could've shot you, Moran!" I was furious. They'd managed to get the drop on me. THE James Moriarty!
"It's a surprise party! I planned it myself, sorry we scared you!" She was giggling, excited. She immediately wrapped her arms around me, making me stumble back slightly as she threw herself to me at full force. My brow furrowed in confusion. I looked down at her, and felt a small blush creep onto my cheeks. Almost hesitant to make a caring, yet non-sexual gesture in front of Miya and Sebastian, yet happy to be able to pull her closer, I wrapped my arms around her, Palm on the back of her head, which was buried into my chest. Confusion was still written all over my face, and it must've looked really awkward.
"I made cake. There is cake." She immediately broke free as realization, in the form of a completely red face, took over. She rubbed the back of her neck, hiding her face from Sebastian and Miya successfully, but I could still see how embarrassed she was. I had no clue what to do. Sure, I'd had parties in the past, but they were mainly forced by my father and brother, and typically ended with arguing and hatred. This was different. It was one of those small, at-home parties. The ones I had heard about, and even attended once as a child. They weren't bad, a lot better than my birthdays ever seemed to be, but I was still confused on why. Noticing my hesitation, my kitten rescued me.
"Happy Birthday, James! There is cake, which I can and will force you to eat, presents which I will, again, force you to open, so let's get started! Don't try to get out of it, if you try, I will force you to have a good time." She warned, but in a kidding, excited tone. A smiled slightly. She had done all this for me? Wow. I pulled her close again, kissing her cheek softly, and resting my chin n her head, a small smile plastered onto my face. Usually, I would've forced it off, but I couldn't seem to now.
"Thank you." I said only loud enough for her hear. She pulled herself closer to me. I decided to just say it loud enough for myself.
"I love you." The words weren't forced, but my voice was so soft that I had to choke it out. Sebastian's eyes widened, and I worried he had heard.
"Sorry, I didn't catch that." Her voice said, apologetically. Well if she didn't hear it, neither did he. Though, he might've just known. He had a knack for that when it came to me.
"Oh, nothing, just me being changeable again!" I sang, and heard the songful sound of her giggling. She broke from the hug, taking my hand in both of hers, and led me to the small table. She picked up a party hat, and snapped it onto Sebastian's head.
"Like I said, Sebby, you are wearing the hat." He grunted, but smiled, knowing he would lose. She went to speak with Miya quickly, and he came up next to me.
"So what was that, earlier?" He cocked a brow, with a smug smile on his face. He knew. I had known he knew, but this made it real.
"Like I said, me being changeable." I snapped in an annoyed reply, but I knew that I was starting to blush as my face began heating up.
"Uh huh. So, changeable in the fact that you were upset then happy, or the fact that you said you'd never love anyone?" He was testing me, and even though he had no right to do so, I felt worried he'd pry the answer from me.
"Doesn't matter." I said a little too quickly, swallowing the lump that had begun forming from the anxiety of the situation. He leaned against the wall, watching the two women, one looking like some sort of goddess in goth clothing. Her h/c dancing behind her as she walked and talked. The other like a poser. Miya had again taken some of y/n's clothing items, and they simply didn't look... Right. Or good for that matter. She looked horrendous, especially when she tried to 'complete' the look, by adding dark eye makeup, a dramatic, dark lipstick, and putting her hair into a high ponytail. The only person who could pull it off was mine, and I knew it, but it still annoyed me that Miya tried to look like her.
"Why didn't you say it so she could hear you? Or so Miya could hear you for that matter? Might get her to lay off." He suggested, but he was being an idiot. Did he want her to die? Because if Magnussen managed to get ahold of this information, that's what would happen.
"Are you thick?" I snapped, and he looked at me, shocked, "Anyone could be listening, for one, and two, I haven't the slightest of what you're referring to." I smirked at my last sentence and he rolled his eyes at the statement.
"I guess you're right." He finally admitted. We exchanged a look, and then made our way over to where my Kitten was. She was focused on her conversation with Miya, and I guess I couldn't resist. I walked up directly behind her, and snaked my arms around her waist, bending down slightly to rest my head on her shoulder, in a way I could still see her. She giggled at my behavior.
"You know, you're supposed to be focused on me right now, it is my birthday." I complained, voice higher than usual. She did her adorable playful little eye roll.
"Quit your whining, what are you turning again? Five? No, six? It has to be six!" She was joking, and my laugh wasn't able to be contained, neither was hers.
"27, actually, and I don't whine." I lightly kissed her jaw line. Kitten dropped one arm to my right hand, and the other lightly rested on my shoulder. I could feel Miya trying to burn holes into y/n, ugh, could she get anymore annoying?
"Really? How shocking, but yes, you really do. Luckily for you, though, I find it utterly adorable." She teased, turning her head so her lips were on mine before I could respond. Smart girl. When she finally broke the kiss, she smirked and I glared playfully in return.
"Smart girl, I like it." I gave her a small wink and she did her innocent little giggle. Before she had time to react, and moved the the side of her, turning her towards me, arms around her waist, holding her as close as she could possibly get, and forcing my lips on to hers. She was a little shocked, but soon melted into the kiss, wrapping her arms around my neck, as I smirked into the kiss. When we broke, she leaned her forehead onto mind, her hand mindlessly tracing the outline of my shoulder and neck.
"Smart boy, I like it." She mocked my previous statement, even faking an Irish accent, smirking in the sexiest way possible. I let my hand move to her face, and caressed her left cheek with the back of my right hand, and she melted into my touch, sending shivers down her spine. My hand brushed some hair from her shoulder, trailing her jawline, and I let it linger to play with her h/c locks.
"I think it's time for cake." She stated as if the moment has never happened. I leaned into her ear, making sure there wasn't any part of us that weren't touching.
"The only sweet thing I need is you, but if you insist." I massaged the area near her ear with my lips before leaving a little lick there. I could feel the swift beating of her heart change to be so fast, that I didn't even think it was possible. I felt her cheeks heat up, and as I pulled away, I was highly satisfied at the very shocked, speechless expression made even better by her rosy cheeks. She tried to hide that beautiful face of hers, but I simply cradled her chin in my fingers, and pulled it back to look at me. I smirked at her reaction. She shook her head a little, trying to clear her head, probably. I chuckled a little, okay so maybe a little maniacally as well, but it was short lived.
"Not funny, James." Her voice was high and shaky, and she soon took the control back, surprising me, as she pulled her self up to be level with me by my suit jacket. She softly, teasingly placed her lips just hovering on mine, only enough to know they were there, but not enough to be a kiss. I tried to pull her into it, then to push myself forward into it, but she evaded me every time. She finally pulled back with a confident smirk, and wicked gleam in her eye. She snigger-laughed a bit. I could feel disappointment set into my features.
"No need to pout, you'll be getting a better gift later." She seductively whispered as she focused on fixing my jacket. I felt my cheeks heat up a little bit, and I knew they were pink like I'd just been smacked. She looked up at me, and satisfied with what she saw, and went to the kitchen. I watched her leave, but we were the only two left. I assume Miya snuck away when I was distracted. Oh well. I retired to the dining room, where Sebastian and Miya anxiously waited. The gifts were in the centre of the table, and my chair had a small-ish wood carving atop it, where the top of my head would be, of a crown. I smiled, knowing my Queen (and Kitten) was behind it. I sat down, making sure to get all the way to the back of the seat, and waited, twiddling my thumbs. She came back with a large two-tiered black fondant cake, with blood red outlining frosting. It looked professionally done, and I was shocked when I realized she made it herself. Then again, she had been quite the chef. She placed it in front of me, and put in a '2' and a '7' candle, and lit it.
"Is this really necessary?" I cocked an eyebrow at her.
"I'm American, so, yes, it is." She proceeded by singing me 'Happy Birthday' along with Sebastian and Miya. I never really had a good birthday, and this was actually really nice. They finished, and motioned for me to blow the candles out.
