Chapter 2: My Love Of Animals Started Young

Okay so me and my family did historical reenactments when I was young. Since I was a baby till I was around near 10 years old. And this is probably the first crazy thing that I did, after being born. Now I'm only a Toddler, probably around two or three years old and this is the beginning of my love for animals. Which sometimes get me in trouble and sends everyone in a panic. Now during one of these Reenactments there was a horrible storm, with hurricane like winds and rain coming down so hard you could hardly see, and this is what happened during that event.

~My Mothers Pov~

"Now girls watch your sister while I go make us some hot cocoa and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches." I told my three eldest daughters as I left to the kitchen tent to prepare food. I was only gone for a few minutes and when I returned my youngest was gone. "Girls where is your sister?!" I asked in a panic. "She was here a minute ago! I swear!" One of my daughters said as they all looked around for their baby sister. "Stay here! I'm going to get help and look for her!" I said as I rushed out of the tepee, and up to one of the dog soldiers(dog soldiers are military assists that help out during these events). "Help! My youngest daughter has gone missing!" I said in a panic "Ma'am how old is your daughter? And what was she wearing last?" The dog soldier asked "she's just a toddler! She was wearing a little pale dress with a pure white bonnet" I said. As the dog soldier talked into his walkie talkie, I was looking around us to see if I could find her. "I'm going to go look for daughter!" I said as I ran around calling for my daughter. The rain was horrible and the wind was blowing peoples tents down and taking them away. I walk over to the farming section and see a tiny white bonnet through the rain. I immediately rush over to my daughter but quickly stop when I see just what she is in the middle of. Shock and fear pulse through me. There my baby daughter is between two mastodon long haired oxen, just barely touching the long tuffs of hair under their bellies. I approach slowly then stop knowing if I get any closer or spook these beasts. All it takes is one kick and I'll have to bury my baby. "Allie  . . . come to Momma sweetie" I said in my softest tone urging her to come to me. "Allie come here. Come to Mommy sweetheart" I urged again this time slightly louder. My baby looks at me then comes waddling over to me. When she's finally in arms reach, I grab her and hold her tightly against me. Not sure if I wanna squeeze her to death in relief or strangle her in rage. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! You could've been killed!! Everyone is looking all over for you!!!" I shouted at my daughter. "I didn't want the cows to be scared" she says so simply. I stare at her in shock. 'This one is going to be a handful' I thought dreadfully.

Yes this really happened and that was my answer to her question. Now for some advice: If you're ever going anywhere always leave a note saying where you're going and what you're doing. And maybe don't stand between two massive prehistoric oxen for your own safety.
