Apologies Over Breakfast
Welcome to my season 9 book!
It has been a long time since I last wrote a oneshot, or anything that isn't hermitcraft daycare related really.
This story is based on Cub's episode, "Partying at Keralis'". This is mostly just random crack with some fluff. 👏

It was 4 in the morning, and Keralis found himself standing in front of his boat house. To be honest, he kind of forgot why he came down stairs in the first place. He dazed off before he could do what he set himself to do... It was weird. But after grabbing that one cup of coffee he didn't remember making, his senses finally came back to him. He found himself tired but awake, staring at the mess of his boat house.
... Actually he was just exaggerating things. It wasn't actually messy. The boathouse was just decorated with bushes, ores, boats, and a bunch of other stuff that shouldn't be in the boat house. So while it wasn't a mess, it did clash with the theme of this room.
For context; Cub, Joe and Scar decided to throw a party at his boat house. Well.. First they tried buying off his attic and then decided to rent the boat house for 24 hours. For a party, it was weirdly neat..
Mama Mia- there's something about these hermits and their need to hide inside a part of his base!.. But he would be lying if he said that he didn't enjoy their shenanigans. Just as long as they clean up after themselves then all is well.
But obviously, the 'cleaning' part will come tomorrow morning. The 24 hour mark passed and the three hermits who started this shenanigans were found passed out on their respective boats. The hermit sighed out of endearment as he looked at his sleeping friends.
"Well then. Guess it's a slumber party now."

It was nearly 5 in the morning.
After bringing the extra beds to the boat house, Keralis rolled back his sleeves and jokingly showed off his muscles to no one but his own reflection." Okay, let's get started. "
Alright, first off was Cub. Now admittedly , Keralis wasn't actually THAT strong so he did struggle to carry him all the way to his bed, despite the bed being 4 freaking blocks away from him. But other than that, everything went swimmingly.
Next up was Joe. Now, Joe was... A weirder experience. Just as he was about to drag him, Keralis nearly had a heart attack as Joe immediately jumped up out of fright, glaring at Keralis with beady eyes.
"... Joe?"
"Did the Canadians find the boat?"
" What-"
" Did they find it?" Joe asked, troubled and worried for... the Canadians I guess.
"... Yess??? They found the boat."
Just then, Joe's worried expression formed into a dopey little smile. "Good", he whispered, then walked off to the nearest bed and passed out.
Huh.. That was easy.
Last but not least, was Scar. After what happened with Joe, Keralis was ready to watch him like a hawk the moment he started getting him to bed. Just then, a mumble came from the sleeping hermit in his arm. Keralis quickly held his breath..
Scar stirred, slowly wiggling away from his grasp.
Keralis struggled to keep his friend from dropping head first to the floor.
It wasn't until Scar finally calmed down, mumbling as he tugged on his arm. " Jellliee.. Caats cann.. Fly."
Keralis couldn't help but let out a cheeky little giggle. " That's right, Scar. Cats can fly." He mumbles back. He wrapped both his arms around Scar's sides again and carefully dragged him off from the boat.
.... Alright! Everything's going well-
" Oh crap-" Keralis let out a harsh whisper as he tripped over whatever slippery fabric he just stepped on, tumbling into the freezing waters.
*spLASH*

After what happened at the boat house, everything became a fading memory. Once again, Keralis found himself in a different area of his base that he doesn't remember going to. Seriously, everything's just a blank the moment he wakes up. All he wants is to remember what happened between waking him and asleep him, damit!..
After that angry rant he had in his head, he finally took proper notice of his surroundings. Okay. The warm morning light shone throughout the whole room yet everything felt freezing. He was in the living room, sitting on a soggy couch with an equally soggy fabric, wrapped around his soggy self..
... Now he remembered what happened! He plunged into the water because he tripped on Scar's green cloak!!
And speak of the devil, the man in the green cloak finally appeared on his side. Now, Keralis would've just made some lighthearted joke about how pissed he was with his clumsy self, if it weren't for the fact that an uncharacteristically worried frown was plastered on the hermit's face.
Soon the other two hermits, Joe and Cub, came into view with the same worried expression as Scar.
" Keralis!!" They all blurted out.
Now, Keralis wasn't exactly fully aware of everything that's going on around him and tried to ignore them for his tired brain's sake. Obviously, the poor man needed sleep. Sometimes having a beautiful face can be tiring at times. Lol. But he did not ignore the amount of apologies they tried telling him. Again, he wasn't fully awake, but he could guess that they were either apologizing for overstaying their welcome or the incident at the boat house.
To be fair, the boat house incident was mostly his fault for being unaware of his surroundings. So if he gets sick from this, then that's on him for being an idiot... But who's to say he wasn't already sick? I mean- he's tired and cold and his friends are babbling all kinds of confessions like he was on his deathbed!...
... He should speak up.
" Ohhhh- don't worry sweet faces," he softly spoke, feeling his throat failing on him, but he still managed to show a faint smile. " This isn't the first time this happened to me."
Looks of concern were thrown at me. " You nearly drowning because of unexpected guests is normal? " Cub spoke up.
" Wellll...I did almost drown in a sewer once."
Scar winced from my response. " I'm Sorry.. For the sewer thing, the party, and my stupid cloak."
" No." Joe said firmly. " WE are sorry for causing you this much trouble." The other two nodded in agreement.
" Aww. Again, don't worry too much about it. I accept your apology.... You still owe me an extra diamond though. " He cheekily smirked.
The three were in sync as they opened up their inventories.
" No- wait.. I was joking-"
In the end, he managed to convince them not to sacrifice their wallets to him, much to their dismay.
It was now 6 in the morning. Honestly, who would've thought that he would start the day with slightly soggy pajamas, on a slightly soggy couch, with remorseful hermits who are beating up themselves too much for his own clumsiness, who made the promise that they all owe him some home-made breakfast.
And this time, he accepted that kind of apology. Because his tummy says so.
