When this person, (I don't know their name) was younger their dad was out of town and their mum had let them have friends over. They lived by a busy highway and had quite a few people knock on their door over the years asking for help, having a broken down car, lost directions etc. One time when their mum was home with them a man knocked on their door asking to borrow their phone.

Their mother tolled the man to stay on the porch while she got her cell phone, the man would continually ask to come inside and if their dad was home, eventually he tried to force his way inside. Their mom shut the door and locked it, call 911 and put them and their friends in a closet. It took the police 20+ minutes to reach them. By the time their mum had called the police, their neighbor had come over with a shotgun keeping the man on the ground until the police arrived.
