Sapphire's Pov

I walked into the cafe and sat at my usual table. I looked at the gems filling up the cafe and sit at their usual tables. I then looked over and seen Ruby and Jade. Jade was sitting on Ruby's Lap and Ruby had her arms around her waist and they where laughing. I looked away and put my head down on the table.

I hate feeling unwanted. I mean I know I should be used to it but...nevermind.

"SAPPHIRE!!"

"AHHHH!!"

I looked up and seen Amethyst. She looked happy.

"I gotta put you in on a lot."

"What...like what?"

"Jasper and Pink Pearl Got cought making out in the janitors closet." She let out a loud laugh.

"Hehe really wow! Thats actually surprising. Considering they are always arguing over stupid things."

"Yea but that's not all. Don't you know the red hot newbie?"

"Uhhh..Yeah. why?"

"I heard her and jade are dating."

I just looked at her with a blank expression. Then I looked down. I sighed.

"what's wrong?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh...Nothing I'm fine just ....thinking about dance practice"

"Oh well ill be back I'm going to go get lunch"

"Ok...cool"

I sat there for a few more minutes looking at the wall.

Why am I not pretty enough.

I looked down and back toward Ruby and jade. I sighed.

Finally School was over and I can go home and relax. I walked to my car unlocked the doors and climbed inside. I put the key in the ignition and turned it. I pulled out the parking lot and drove down the road.

I know your thinking I left Amethyst. But I didn't she has soccer practice.

I pulled up to my house and parked the car. I took the key out the ignition and opened the door I climbed out and locked the doors. I walked to my house and unlocked the doors. I decided to go upstairs and lay down for a bit. I got on InstaGem and scrolled down my timeline. I took a cat nap and woke up at 4:30. I got up out my bed and walked toward my closet and opened the doors. I grabbed my dance clothes and some shoes. I went into my bathroom and put on my onsie top it was white with a blue diamond on my chest, put on my shorts they were black and my dance shoes. I Brushed my hair in a tight donut bun ...still kepted my bang tho. I walked out my bathroom and back to my room to check my time it was 4:45. I grabbed my phone and keys off my nightstand and walked out my room and down the steps and out the door toward to my car. I got in and made my way to the dance studio. I parked my car and got out, walked inside and signed my name in on the time sheet.

"Well hello there Sapphire Lovely to see you here early as always" Ms Opal said with a smile.

"Hey Sapphire nice to see you again" Ms.Quartz said.

"Hi Ms.Opal Hello Ms.Quartz is there any dance routines i need to work on?"

"Um well we can save that for later, today you guys will be working on your routines for the talent show next Friday. You can just stretch or do what ever you want until the rest of the class comes" Ms.Opal said.

"Well alrighty then" I said walking away from them and over to the mirror.

I began my stretches first I did a full split i reached for the foot that was facing upward and counted to 30. I then bent backwards and counted to 25. I shifted my position and faced forward toward the mirror and laid down still doing a split and counted to 35. I got up and did 20 back bends. I then walked over toward the support bar and held my leg in the arm for 1 minute. I didn't notice how flexible Ive gotten. Soon the class was filled up and i was bored. I looked over toward the door and seen .....

"LAPIS!!!" I said running toward the her with open arms.

"Sapphire!!" She said getting ready to embrace the hug.

I jumped right in her arms and she swung me around then sat me down.

" Hey where have you been? Why haven't you been coming to dance practice? I've missed you like crazy!" I said give her another quick hug.

"Well for starters i have been at home relaxing because i sprained my ankle, and I've missed you to boo."

" How'd you sprain your ankel?"

"Well that one day when you couldn't come in, me and Topaz where dancing and she had dropped me while i was about to spin into her arms. It hurt like heck. They rushed me to the hospital and told me i had a sprained ankle. They said i wouldn't be able to dance again until 3 weeks."

" Wow, did Topaz say sorry to you?"

" Yea, she was at the hospital with me and wouldn't stop saying it. It was getting annoying."

We both let out a giggle.

"But enough about me tell me more about you. Whats been going on with you? Any romance yet?" She said walking over to and empty area to start her stretches.

"Umm.. No im still the loser at school so yah know nobody is going to talk to me."

"What about Amethyst? Isnt she your friend?" she said looking at me confused.

" Yes. Hehe, She is my friend but we really arent that close as we used to be all she does is make sure im ok and tells me juicy details about things the popular girls do.

"Oh well..ok then"

"Your asking me about romance, what about you laps?"

"Oh..no not yet but there is this one girl who i would love to call mine."

"Really, Who?"

"Y--"

"Hey everybody today i will be assigning everybody partners for the Talent show next week. Each of you will be doing 2 solo dances and 2 team dances. I want everybody to get along and get ready to so you stuff" Ms.Quartz said.

"The teams are Lapiz and Jordan, Topaz and Marcasite, Moissante and Janet, Larimar and Moostone, Spinel and Amber Ruby and Sapphire, Lynx and..."

Wait wait wait..wait a freakin minute. Did she just say RUBY?! Why is she involved in this stuff what the heck man! Everytime I turn around she is there ...WHY CAN SHE DISAPPEAR!!

I huffed and looked down the line at Ruby. She didn't seem to care that she was partners with me. Ugh ....what ever.

I walked over toward Ruby. She looked at me. We traded looks for alittle until Ms.Quartz Broke the silence.

"Now each person gets to pick a song they would like to dance to. I dont wanna hear any bickering or arguing. Ok? Ok?" Ms.Quartz said.

"Oh Rose you forgot to mention that they are competing against each other and will be going into separate classes working with different teachers." Ms.Opal said.

Just then 4 teachers came in. They assigned the gem teams with each teacher and left out. The last gems standing there was Me, Lapis, Ruby and Jordan.

"Ruby, Sapphire you'll be working with me. Lapis And Jordan you'll be working with Ms.Opal now time to get started" Ms.Quartz said.

I looked at Lapis and seen she was happy. She walked up to me and Ruby.

"Can't wait to see you bus a move out on stage Sapphy. I haven't seen dance in a while. Atleast I know I got good competition." She said walking out the door with Jordan and Ms.Opal.

"Ready Girls?"

We looked up at Ms.Quartz and nodded.

"Any song ideas?"

"Yes actually Ms.Quartz I have one. I wanna dance to Sevyn Street Ft. Chris Brown it wont stop."

"Really? Well alright. And what about you Ruby."

"How about the way you are by Timberland" Ruby said.

"Alright lets get started."

7:30 pm.

"Lift your leg like this Sapphire." Ms.Rose said.

I did as told and we kept dancing. This Routine kinda distrubs me.

"Now Ruby take your hand and spin her around making sure you don't let her fall to the side."

We did as told and kept dancing. This dance was perfect. Until I had to jump around her waist and slide threw her legs and back up. The hole point of this dance is to make it seem like we are arguing and or having a disagreement. Just then Ms.Quartz got a phone call and had to step out the room. She told us to keep practicing.

"Alright again from the top" I said walking over to the CD player and restarting the song.

I walked back over to Ruby and noticed how quiet shes been. But she was staring directly at me. She seemed focus on this dance. There was no talking for a little while just dancing and us watching our moves in the mirror to make sure we didn't mess up until she said something.

"Your a pretty good dancer" she said looking down at me still keeping her focus and not messing up.

"thank you." I said not breaking my focus.

"You know with that bang in your face you cant tell what your emotion is. It makes you seem like u have a straight face" she said giving alittle laugh.

"Cant you just focus on not letting me drop." I said sternly.

She spun me and locked back onto me and pushed me back out by my hand and not letting me go, spinning me around back toward her then dipping me.

"Happy?" She said.

We paused for a moment, my cheeks began to turn purple. I was staring into her beautiful eyes. I then turned my face away from her.

"Mmm I'm pretty sure your girlfriend wouldn't like you flirting with a lame like me. Plus this isn't even part of the dance" I said moving my lip to the side little.

Ruby stopped dancing. I looked at her and she looked at me. She gave me this look. I couldn't read her emotions the face she made, made me nervous. I looked at her with my lip quivering. She soon stopped looking at me and walked over to the CD player and stopped the music.

"We need to take a break."

And with that she walked to her locker and pulled out her phone. She sat down on the couch and laid her head on the arm rest with her leg up. This began to get really awkward. Thankfully Ms.Quartz walked in and said we can go home.

I walked near Ruby and she got up and didn't even look at me. What did I do to her? Why is she so quiet?...She just walked passed me grabbed her bag said bye to Ms.Quartz and left.

I did the same. I took my phone out my bag amto check the time. Man it was late. It was 10:30pm. I said bye to Ms.Quartz and walked out. I walked out the building and walked to my car. I unlocked the doors opened the divers door and climbed inside closing the door beside me. I stuck the key in the ignition and turned it. I put the car in reverse and pulled out the parking lot. I drove down the street and seen lapis at the bus stop. I rolled down my window so I could speak to her. She looks sad.

"Hey lapis"

She looked up at me.

"Hey Sapphire"

"You wanna ride?"

"Oh, no its fine, I'm catching the bus"

"Oh girl c'mon I insist"

"Well alright." She said walking toward the car and climbing inside.

She got in and I pulled off.

"So where were you going?"

"Oh, I was going home. I really don't wanna be there" she said looking out the window.

"Why not?"

"Well because..."she trailed off putting her head down.

"Yes?"

"My mom an dad are always arguing and fighting. I been trying to bring the peace but they just ignore me and its just so stressful at home." She seemed like she wanted to cry.

It was silent for a moment.

"Do you wanna stay over?"

"Um. I cant maybe some other time."

"Awe, C'mon Laps. I insist you need to relieve some stress. You don't need to be in that environment, exspecially since we got a talent show coming up. Come over."

"Ill come this weekend, alright?"

"Sure, but don't we have to practice then too?"

"Yea. Ill bring clothes for that."

"Well alright"

Eventually we pulled up at her house and she got out the car and closed it.

"See you at school"

"Bye lapis"

I waited until she was safely in the house, she waved at me throught the window and I honked my horn and pulled off. I looked at the time and seen its gotten really late it 11:05pm I drove alittle fast and eventually reached my house. I pulled up in the drive way and parked my car. I got out and locked my doors. I walked to my house and unlocked the door and went inside making sure I close and lock the door. I went upstairs took a shower laid down and went to sleep.
