The air felt awfully cool traveling in through (Y/n)'s nostrils. There wasn't a salty scent that she loved or even a whistle of wind. A feeling of discomfort ran through her barely conscious body. Her 2 senses quickly told her she wasn't home. Her third sense of sight confirmed her fear.
The ceiling was white and awfully tall; a theory of entering the light people claim to see before they almost pass came to mind, but a soft beeping told her otherwise. Glancing to the side she saw a heart monitor, it had a pulse so she knew she wasn't dead.
A new feeling wandered along and a pain rang throughout her head. She carefully rose her hand to grasp her head, only to feel another sharp pain from an injury that had been bandaged. (Y/n) closed her eyes once more, too many feelings rushing through her pained mind.
"(Y/n)! Thank goodness you're awake!" A shrill voice shrieked, a voice she quickly recognized as her mother's, as well as a voice that sent another throbbing pain throughout her head. She felt her body forcefully be risen as her mother held her tightly.
(Y/n) smiled slightly and returned the elder woman's hug. It had been a while since she had seen her mother, so she was quite relieved to see her here. The question still remained though: how did she get here?
"I'm alright, mom... but... how did I get here?" (Y/n) asked, quickly being released by her parent. The woman brushed (Y/n)'s hair behind her ear and sighed. Her mother looked over to the doorway and Agent Fowler entered the room.
"Ms. (L/n). I'm glad to see you're awake. Me and my employees were on our boat when we found you unconscious in the water. We got you to the hospital as fast as we could. I hope you're feeling okay." Fowler said, walking over. (Y/n) smiled, though her mind told a different story. She felt a deep guilt inside of her as a "thank you" left her lips.
"Is (Y/n) awake?!" (Y/n) heard her brother ask as he rushed into the room. His eyes fell on her and he smiled. He quickly hugged her with tears in his eyes. "I'm so happy you're okay!"
"I-I'm fine, Eric! Really!" (Y/n) said with a soft laugh, seeing as it had been longer since she'd seen her brother. Her brother pulled away and sent her a glare of disbelief.
"No you're not. You're found unconscious in the middle of the ocean, bleeding. You're definitely not fine. What were you thinking?!" Eric exclaimed, now sounding pissed. (Y/n)'s lips stayed a smile, however, for she was not upset. Out of anything, (Y/n) was happy she was still alive and accompanied by two of the people she loved the most.
"I had went out to surf; I didn't know that there was a storm coming. It was dumb of me to go out without checking the weather reports and I'll be sure to do so next time." (Y/n) replied calmly. She sat up and sighed. "I'm just happy to see you guys... I-is anyone else here?"
"Your father is talking to the doctor. Patty and Hailey are at the island taking care of Anchor." Her mother answered. Patty was her sister-in-law and Hailey was her niece. (Y/n) nodded and smiled brighter.
"When will I be able to go home?" She asked, looking toward all three of them. Her eyes wandering between each person.
"You're not going home. You're coming back to the mainland with us. At least until you're healed." Her mother spoke with a stern voice, one that was usually only used by her father.
"Alright... thank you." The room fell silent once more, the beeping from the monitor could only be heard. "May I speak to Agent Fowler please? Alone?"
The two relatives were surprised, but nodded and left the room. Agent Fowler took a glance back at the door and looked at (Y/n), an eyebrow of suspicion raised.
"What seems—"
"I'm sorry."
"What?" Agent Fowler asked, completely caught off guard. "Sorry for what?"
"I-I'm sorry that I misjudged you. Usually the people who work with animals in ocean facilities aren't very good people... and yet you saved my life. I-it would feel wrong to not apologize." (Y/n) spoke softly, a flush of embarrassment on her cheeks.
"Well... that's perfectly alright." Fowler replied. He hadn't even noticed (Y/n)'s so called problem with him. He just thought she was uncomfortable by a male presence due to her past, but that could've been it too.
"And I have reasons to believe your facility is doing some good. Before anyone showed up, a creature moved me onto rocks. It didn't feel like a dolphin and it is rare for whales to swim so close to humans. It was also too big to be a sea lion." (Y/n) said. "So I can tell you definitely aren't hurting these animals or I would've been dead way before you found me."
Agent Fowler was shocked. She said she felt it, but she didn't know what it was, or better yet, who. Agent Fowler instead nodded to not show his shock.
"We didn't see anything nearby, but if it was one of the creatures we helped, Well they chose the right person to save." He said with a small grin. (Y/n) let out a weak laugh and smiled at him.
"Thank you, Agent Fowler."
"Please. Call me Bill." Fowler replied, calmly.
"Of course... Bill. Maybe once I'm healed up we could get dinner as a thank you?"
"Sure. You have my number, just text me the details." He replied, (Y/n) nodded.
"Agent Fowler, would you please leave the room. We're going to do some final examinations on Ms. (L/n)." A nurse said after entering the room.
"Of course, ma'am. I'll talk to you later (Y/n)." Fowler dismissed before walking out of the room. He bid a farewell to her family and went up to the helipad. Fowler left back to the facility.
The sky was blue once more with no signs of any storm. It was always strange how the dark always came so quickly and could fade out like it wasn't even there.
The helicopter soon landed on top of the facility. Fowler exited the helicopter and went into the building. He headed toward the automers, for he knew they were extremely worried about (Y/n), especially Bulkhead.
He saved her after all. He was the one who informed them. There was a deep feeling of disappointment in his eyes when the others asked him why he didn't bring her to the facility. The big guy immediately felt like the biggest idiot in the seven seas. Optimus has to reassure him that (Y/n) would be fine, even though he didn't truly know himself.
Agent Fowler entered their area where they'd come in to relax from swimming around the ocean and see the children.
"How is—" Optimus started before Bulkhead quickly interrupted.
"Is she alright?!" Bulkhead shouted, his flippers holding him up on the glass. Fowler looked up at the bigger mer and sighed, feeling bad.
"She's perfectly fine. She'll just be spending a little time with her family till she heals."
"How is she feeling?" Optimus restated the question, just to be sure. Fowler scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"With that woman? You'll never know. She didn't seem upset about almost dying if that's what you're asking." Fowler said. "But it's also not her first close to death experience."
"What do you mean?!" Bulkhead asked with a more worried tone. Fowler then realized he said that out loud.
"Well... she's had a lot of bad experiences with people which is why she works in the ocean instead. But that's another story for another time." He said with an awkward tone of voice. "She actually apologized to me which was strange. She said something bout thinking I was bad because she thought I was doing some inside job with this facility, but she now has reason to believe otherwise."
"What reason?" Arcee asked, an eye roll in her voice.
"She knows a non human being saved her. In other words, you got caught Bulk, but not seen." Fowler said.
"How? She was unconscious." Bulkhead questioned.
"Just because she seemed unconscious doesn't mean she was. Clearly she was subconscious leaning toward unconscious. She's not suspicious of anything, but she is curious as to what species saved her. She won't try anything though. She's too timid." Fowler rambled. "But that doesn't mean this injury is going to stop her from swimming."
"Why not?" Ratchet asked, knowing she might be stressing an injury, though he didn't even know where she was injured.
"She's like Moana, just drawn to the ocean. Her family says it's the one place she feels safe. Even though she knows it isn't." Fowler said. "She just doesn't like people. A lot of traumatic experiences according to her family."
"Will we ever meet her?" Bulkhead asked, clearly wanting to. Most likely to see if (Y/n) was alright.
"Well. Even though I was considering it, the island she lives on has a cove if you can get into there. I mean she swims everyday, so you could probably run into her just about anywhere." Fowler rambled. He seemed to know more about (Y/n) than he let on.
"Would she work here someday?" Optimus asked, seeing as she was a professional. Fowler shrugged.
"That's up to her." He said, then looked down at the time. "The kids will be arriving soon and I have a meeting to catch."
"Be safe, Agent Fowler." Optimus said whilst the others bid him a goodbye. Fowler nodded and left the room.
Bulkhead began to swim out of the tank. This easily caught everyone's attention.
"Bulk? Where are you going? Don't you want to see Miko?" Arcee questioned. Bulkhead turned his head back.
"I'll be back, just want to go for a quick swim to clear my head." He said before swimming off. Arcee was about to go after him, knowing well that something was wrong, but Optimus stopped her.
"Leave him be. He'll be back." Optimus stated, then let her go and turned his attention back to Ratchet, who he was speaking to before Fowler had even arrived.
"This human sounds as reckless as the rest. It's a miracle she's even survived this long." Ratchet said with a scoff.
"She's just running. Probably feels like that's all she can do." Arcee commented, seeing as she related to that feeling. Ratchet frowned at that comment, before shrugging and pretending like he didn't care.
"When we meet her, we'll truly be able to decide that for ourselves." Optimus replied, he didn't want to judge a book by its summary. This (Y/n) could be any of the people Arcee or Ratchet described. All he knew now was that Bulkhead was off upset and the children would be arriving soon.

When (Y/n) arrived at her parents house, she was surprised and happy to see Anchor, Hailey and Patty. She heard Hailey gasp in surprise, which made her smile brighten. (Y/n) knelt onto the ground; when she did, both Anchor and Hailey charged at her. Hailey hugged her tightly and Anchor was licking her face and wagging his tail.
Despite all the events that had happened, (Y/n) was relieved to be with her family again. It's not that she never sees them, it's just rare for everyone to be together in the same place. Usually (Y/n) visited her brother, his wife, and his daughter; then (Y/n) would also just visit her parents.
It was a huge difference going between her parents house and her brothers house. Her parents had a large, mansion of a house, while her brother had a medium, middle class home. However, just because her parents had a big house, doesn't mean they dressed rich. Like most rich people, they dressed pretty casual. They didn't flaunt their wealth like people usually assumed they would when (Y/n) said her parents were wealthy.
"Yay! You're ok!" Hailey exclaimed excitedly, bouncing up and down. (Y/n) gave a soft laugh and nodded. She moved Hailey away from her slightly and brushed her hair behind her ears.
"Yes yes! I'm alright! Are you ok?" Hailey nodded before hugging her again, making (Y/n) smile. She picked up the little girl and bounced her on her hip, making her way to the kitchen. "It's nice to have everyone together. Maybe I should almost die more often."
"No!" Hailey giggled, nuzzling her face into (Y/n)'s neck. No one else laughed though, making (Y/n) frown slightly.
"We should do a big ol dinner, for old times sakes. We're rarely together anymore and I'd like to spend time as a family while I'm here." She said, her bouncing pace slowing down slightly as she didn't feel as happy as before.
"Alright, (Y/n). Just don't miss dinner. You need to rest. Stay inside." Her mother ordered. (Y/n) nodded and retreated to the couch to spend time with her niece and dog.
Today had been hectic.
