chapter one
Third Person's POV
Maybe she'll just check to see if the homework is actually done, and Y/N will be able to get away with just putting random words and numbers on her homework assignment.
Y/N's back is pressed against her cold locker while her non dominate hand is holding her heavy math book up in the air. Y/N looks up slightly flicking my eyes side to side quickly to see if anybody was coming near her. When Y/N sees that the sight is clear, she takes a chance and begins to scribble random things on her notebook page.
Y/N nearly drops her school supplies on the ground when she feels a sudden hand against my shoulder. Thinking that it's her math teacher, she becomes slightly nervous.
"Fuck-ah, sorry. Look Ms. Collins-oh, it's only you," Y/N says, rolling her eyes once she realizes she panicked about her profanity for nothing.
Dante smiles at Y/N as he wraps his arm around Y/N's shoulder. He get closer to her, and she ignores him and continue to work.
He looks down at her assignment when his eyes widen slightly.
"There was math homework last night? I totally forgot about it after my game!" Dante slides his backpack off his shoulder dropping it harshly against the floor. He bends down to pick up his assignment and leans against the locker behind him beginning to copy of her. "Mind if I copy you?"
Y/N lifts an eyebrow at the blond boy. "You're already doing it so be my guest. Most of it is wrong anyway. Besides, if I wouldn't have gone to your game last night, I wouldn't be stuck in this predicament right now."
"You wanted to go to my game. Anyway, I'm going for past fail anyway. At least I'm actually doing the homework for once."
Y/N ignores his comment, and a few more of their friends walk towards them. Y/N quickly finishes up with her homework and slams the book shut. Dante begins to pout and makes things up on his paper.
"You guys seriously would make the perfect couple," Katelyn says towards the two. Aphmau begins to frown at the thought, but Dante's flirtly smile to her makes her forget all about Katelyn's comment. Sometimes Katelyn means the comment or says it for a reaction. "You both are constantly forgetting about something school related, mainly something that concerns your grades."
"Vylad would be so disappointed in you Y/N," Garroth laughs, his head tilting backwards with his breathy chuckle. It was incredibly different from Dante's full sounding laugh.
"Come on bro, don't pull my little brother's disappointment card on me. Where is he anyway?" Y/N looks around for Vylad, but she doesn't see him and frowns once more. She wanted to see her little brother even if she saw him that morning.
"Showing some new kids around or something."
Y/N nods and Dante looks back at his homework and becomes slightly relieved that it's finished even if he can't promise that half of it is right. Dante slaps his homework into his math folder wrinkling it up greatly and ends up placing his backpack back over his shoulder in a single smooth motion. If he cared enough to make sure it was shut, he would've realized that his zipper is slowly moving down the backpack almost making everything inside fall. They begin to snicker and watch the backpack, but Dante can't help but be confused as of why they're acting so strange and what they're looking at.
It hits him right when he feels the weight on his back be lifted, and his supplies around his feet fall onto the ground.
He groans as he begins to pick everything up, and Aphmau decides to help him.
"Hey Aph, we're going to be late to class," Y/N states, staring at the raven haired girl on her knees. Aphmau looks up at her in fear. Who knows what her mother would do if she knew that Aphmau was late to a single class. "We'll see you there when you're finished with that."
As they walk away, people begin to gawk near the entrance and the front office. It's all because of a certain male, but he's completely oblivious to the stares.
Requested from the principle, Vylad is showing the three new students around school. He talks to the eldest as the other two linger behind in their own conversation. At least, a somewhat conversation.
"Can't you at least smile?" Laurance asks his little sister.
He looks down at her as she pops her earbuds out of her ear. She didn't understand why their family had to move from Meteli to Phoenix Drop. She at least made friends with some of the sophomores she would've going to school with but here she knows nobody. It upset her too because she didn't see the need to move when everything was alright there.
"Hmm." Alex wiggles her nose slightly before answering back. "No." The distaste in her voice was visible to any ear around that was listening which thankfully wasn't many.
Laurance tries to compromise with that young female that she doesn't need to enjoy going to a new school but to at least try and make it appear that she doesn't mind it. This of course makes Alex think again about what could happen and what her answer would be. In the end, she decides to pretend she enjoys the new school.
"See, it wasn't that hard," Laurance says, tapping on Cadenza's shoulder. She turns back to him with a smile. Cadenza enjoyed meeting new people and wanted to make the most out of everything. It bothered her that she was starting her senior year in a new school, but she decided that she would make the best of it since there was no changing it. "They're all staring at us."
"Silly Laurance, they're all staring at you," Cadenza states, confused as of how Laurance didn't notice it because it was obvious.
He decides to test out her statement and winks at a group of girls staring in their direction. They gush over him, and he relaizes that Cadenza was right. Alex scoffs at him and wonders how much it's going to effect his big ego that more girls find an interest in him in this school as well. He continues to wink at random girls as they walk, and he'll occasionally smile as well. All is fine and glory until he falls on his butt.
"Hey, what the hell?" He hisses at the sudden pain on his tailbone, and he looks up to see a girl regaining her balance. An extremely pretty girl in fact. So pretty that he was willing to overlook what just happened. "Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention."
"I can tell," she says, annoyed. She crosses her arms and narrows her eyes at the newly found stranger. "The pain in my lower back proves it."
"Is there anything I can do to make up for it? What about coffee after school on Friday?"
She looks at him annoyed. Laurance begins to pick himself up from the floor. He was trying to ask her out in the slyest way possible and prayed that the girl didn't have a boyfriend hate was ten times the size of him that would beat him up for flirting with his girl.
"Are you seriosuly trying to hit on me?"
"Is it working?" Laurance asks, an eyebrow raising as the hope in his voice does as well. He didn't realize that she was growing annoyed very quickly at a drastic rate.
She smiles through clentched teeth at him. However, Laurance can't see it because her smile is a closed off with her lips in a tight thin line. If he would look at the muscles tightening, he would notice. However he didn't, and he would only have his hopes crushed to pieces because of it when she turns him down.
They're left on an awkward note when Y/N begins to walk away. Vylad greets her with her name and a hello, and Y/N returns the greeting just as cheery. Vylad then faces Laurance, mentally sweat dropping
"I thought I lost you. I should probably get you to class before I get in trouble."
The thought of losing one of the three Zvahls right away the first day was not on his agenda nor did it look good to any grownup around.
"Sure," Laurance says, watching the newly found 'Y/N' walk away with her hips slightly swaying left to right.
