To say it was chaos outside, was an understatement, Alethea could already hear the concerned and scared screams and shouts of the people who were out there. The large groups who had been here readily celebrating and waving flags were now scattering in any direction they could go. Of course, there were still some who were loitering around, watching the fight which was happening before them. Needless to say, no one would've quite seen a fight like a fight between Hank and Erik. It seemed like Hank had managed to deter Erik from flat out shooting Raven in front of everyone, but that had also meant they had gone fighting off to the side near a fountain.
Alethea left Charles to calm Logan down and flew out the window with a sigh. Erik and Hank were busy, totally caught up in their own bubble of trying to hurt each other or get distance, Alethea wasn't sure which was which and by who; but it meant that she could at least fly down and help Raven up and off of the ground. She looked confused, her arm in Alethea's grasp as she hauled her quickly up, the wound in her leg made putting her foot down hard, let alone any weight on it. Alethea looked her over, other than the gunshot wound, she seemed relatively in one piece, even after throwing herself out of a window, especially considering how high that window was.
"We need to get out of here," Alethea said suddenly, the pair were just standing there wasting time. Raven looked her over with a slightly distant expression before nodding. "Can you walk?"
"Just about, with no thanks to Erik." Raven scoffed and shot a look to the fountain; the two males were still fighting it out and she looked back at Alethea when she took a step forward before rolling her eyes. Hovering up into the air, Alethea scooped her hands under Raven's arms and took off flying.
"Yeah, he's an arse, tell me about it. We had a plan, you know? An actual plan!" Alethea said, glancing down at Raven, who looked less than pleased or at least comfortable dangling in Alethea's hands. It wasn't like Alethea was going to drop her, not a chance. "I wish it was under better circumstances, but it is good to see you."
"I'm sorry we are meeting like this, Thea." Raven looked up confused when Alethea stopped moving, Raven's bare feet could touch the ground and she managed to wiggle free and looked confusedly back up at the purple-haired female above her.
"I can't move." Alethea looked down at Raven, she looked back to the fountain to see that poor Hank had been basically strung up, and Erik was climbing slowly out of the water, a hand pointing in their direction.
Alethea cursed any small metallic pieces on her clothing that Erik could manipulate. It was ridiculous the minute metallic items that Erik could interact with, it didn't even have to be a massive piece of metal, just something for him to link to. "I can't leave you," Raven glanced around themselves, well, she couldn't get Alethea down. Her being stuck in midair was certainly weird, funny if it wasn't in such a moment like this.
"Run! Look, he is not interested in me. It's you, Raven. It's you he wants. Just disappear from here, we will find you, or you'll find us; either way, we'll see each other again. I'm not great at fighting Erik, I don't know many who are, but I will distract him enough for you to get away." Alethea said while watching Raven step back awkwardly, while she spoke Raven was backing up more and more. Alethea smiled, happy at least she was listening to her and could distance herself from Erik. Alethea was rather sure he'd still try and kill her, considering he was going to do it in front of a massive crowd, even with the crowd dispersed he'd probably still give it a good bash.
"Be careful." Raven said, her voice low and her expression pained. She didn't want to leave Alethea to try and tackle Erik, just not literally. But even as she backed away, she could see the growing glow coming from Alethea. Her friend, her adopted sister could be a mini time bomb, she understood what Alethea was doing; her powers could displace the attachment Erik had and he'd have no choice but to let her go, just Raven hoped Alethea could control the explosion which would come from her in a smaller scale.
Alethea watched as Raven's blue form shifted and she became just another face in the crowd as she limped off. Truthfully, Alethea tried to keep her eyes on her, to see where she went, which direction, but she soon lost sight of her in amongst everyone still running about. The sirens of police cars bled and melded with the screams of people still here, it seemed no matter everything they'd seen, everyone just couldn't escape the scene quick enough.
Letting out a noise, she looked at her hands, she could feel movement coming back to her fingers, a tingling feeling which wasn't wholly because Erik's control was slipping. Her hands were glowing, a molten glass like droplet coming from her fingers, her palms, the liquid fell to the ground and pooled and Alethea let out a sad sound before managing to fist her hands. Being still connected to the liquid, she could ignite it that way instead of throwing something already charged. All this resulted in was a crackling noise, a very loud bang, and her form shuttling upwards in the air from taking the brunt of the explosion.
She did twirl in the air for a bit before righting herself and looking downwards, the scorch mark and small crater made her wince before her eyes slid to Erik. He was scouring the crowd before he slowly looked up at her. Inhaling slowly, she clapped her hands together and lowered herself to the ground. It didn't matter where she was, he'd still get her. She had no experience of fighting Erik, she just knew that actually, he had her beat. Everything around them was metallic in some way, if she fought back, charged anything up that he threw at her the moment her hands touched them, or threw charged energy at whatever item it was, everything was going to go bang.
She'd opt to try and stop that getting near innocent people, and Erik knew that full well. Didn't stop him from seizing the moment and doing just that, Alethea dodged barriers, the barriers were now pointless anyway, the crowd which was pressing against them were gone. The police and security which were trying to keep the barriers in place were either pushed away by Erik or quickly grabbed and flown out of the way by her.
"Which way did she go, Thea?" Erik asked, watching her stand there rocking on her feet. Did he think she'd answer? Most likely not. He wasn't expecting her to answer, he just wasn't expecting her to dart into the air and charge at him with such speed that he had very little time to dodge and whip a barrier apart and latch some of it onto her ankle.
Alethea let out a startled noise before she was literally whiplashed backwards and impacted against the ground. She hit her head hard, her vision blurry and she was just aware to the sounds of impact, something crunching and cracking in the concrete around her that by the time her ears stopped ringing, she realised she couldn't move. Erik had used the barriers links and bars to encase her body, to keep her pinned to the ground where she wiggled pathetically about.
Kneeling down, Erik combed a hand through his wet hair. "Which way?"
"I don't even know what she looks like anymore, Erik. You literally stopped me in midair and she got away, by the time I tried to see her, she was gone." Alethea said despairingly, the metal pressing down on her was very constricting, not painful, but it was uncomfortable. Truthfully, Alethea was only half-lying, she saw Raven disguise herself as an elderly man and limp off, but she wasn't telling Erik that. Plus, in truth, Alethea did lose sight of her, she was there one moment and gone the next.
Erik sighed and looked around at the people still dawdling about. He clicked in tongue in thought and shook his head, Alethea just wiggled and struggled and ended up just resting her head against the ground with her eyes shut. Her head was really hurting and she wouldn't even be surprised if she was bleeding somewhere. "In the end, you will see that what I was trying to do, was actually the lesser of evils." Erik said at length, waving a hand when police seemed to want to approach them, he frowned and watched them fly off.
Alethea tried to tilt her head to see where they went, but she couldn't move much. "Killing my sister isn't a lesser of an evil, Erik."
"They will come for her, Thea. You know this, right? Now that they know what she can do, now they have seen all of our faces, they'd have come for her; the manor wouldn't be safe, all your students, if and when they reappeared, would not be safe. They would come, at any time, and you'd all have no chance to prepare for it."
Alethea just looked at him sadly, "Erik, not everything has to be on the offensive, straight away." How was that a good way to live? Always expecting to be attacked, paranoid and untrusting over everything and everyone. To Alethea, that sounded like hell.
Erik sighed and stood up slowly, he put his hands in his pockets and shook his head. "That's a nice philosophy. Let's see how well that goes for you." He said while moving away from her, Alethea tried to look for him, but she really couldn't move.
She scuffed her shoes against the ground and tried pushing upwards, but he had rooted the bars in pretty deep. Alternatively, she could turn her hand and touch the metal, or at least some of it. That would mean it melting, it melting would then land on her and that sounded like agony. Being able to heal a little quicker than normal people was good, but molten metal would hurt and it'd be stuck to her and honestly, she'd probably still need a hospital, or Hank.
Her eyes widened, Hank, where was Hank? Was he okay? Alethea turned her head slightly and widened her eyes at the sight of creeping footsteps, seems how she was incapacitated, people were seemingly seeing as it being fine to come edging nearer to have a gawp. Alethea gritted her teeth and pushed again, the bars weren't moving and the people only stopped when something heavy landed near to her.
"You're okay?"
"Doing better than you," Hank quipped back bluntly, Alethea didn't know where he was, she had no idea that Erik had strung him up in the fountain for everyone to see. It was literally the worst situation Hank had been in, for a long time, everyone's eyes and what camera crews which were still around were shooting his way, he could see them, but they were also focussing on Alethea's stuck form.
"I didn't mean anything by it, Hank." Alethea frowned, "Can you help me?" She asked, it wasn't like he was going to leave her here, and Hank was one of the strongest people she knew; if anyone could rip these damn bars out and free her, it was Hank.
"Did she get away?" Hank grasped onto the bars and with ease pulled them free, or at least free enough for Alethea to sit herself up and stand up. The pair stood there looking confusedly over everyone who were looking equally miffed back at them.
"Yeah, I think we need to get away too." Alethea didn't like how everyone was looking at them, they were so confused, she could almost hear all of the gears working in their minds to just figure out what they were looking at, and what they had just witnessed; safe to say, they'd never have seen anything like them before.
"Follow my lead," Hank said while literally springing off, Alethea shot up into the air and followed from above, she'd land when they were away from here, though granted it was obvious she was flying around thanks to the purple trail she left in her wake.
Hank diverted down an alley, he wasn't exactly inconspicuous either, kneeling down and shutting his eyes, Hank breathed deeply and focussed, Alethea hunkered down beside him and shut her eyes. She leaned her head back, only to wince and reach behind herself. She threaded her fingers gingerly into her hair and pulled away, spots of blood were on her fingertips. She knew she had cracked her head open somehow, but it still made her feel displeased.
"I'll check on your injuries once we're back at the jet. I'm sure there's a basic first-aid kit present," Hank said slowly, his voice a little strained, even as they stayed hidden in the alley, they could hear the city beyond; people talking, cars going past, it was busy, even if people saw them enter no one came to investigate.
Alethea looked slowly his way, there was a pressure behind her eyes and honestly, she hoped she hadn't got a concussion thanks to Erik. Hank was back to his every day self, no more blue fur and yellow eyes, he was looking at her worriedly. He may have taken the brunt of Erik's attack, but he had still inflicted damage on her somehow.
"How do we get back there? Where even are we?" Alethea looked upwards, they were, who knew where actually. She hadn't a clue!
Hank shrugged off his jacket, it had survived his transforming and fight, Alethea's shirt however had not survived her powers; the sleeves were scorched and torn and she was looking at her arms and then out of the alley with a worried look. If they were trying to now fit in to get to the airstrip, she wasn't going to do a too good of a job.
Thanking Hank, Alethea slipped the jacket on, the sleeves were long enough that she could tuck her hands inside them. She'd just keep her eyes downcast and try and play off casual while following Hank back to the jet. "Do you know if Charles and Logan got out?" She asked slowly, everything had well and truly gone bad; Raven was still hiding in the city but safe from Erik, Erik was off doing his own thing like Alethea suspected he would, and Charles and Logan were who only knew where while they hid in an alley.
Hank shook his head, "I didn't see them leave the hotel, but knowing them two, they'll be fine. We'll worry about them once we're somewhere safer. If they're not at the jet by the time we get back, I'll go looking." Hank patted his knees and stood, watching as Alethea slowly stood too, Hank couldn't help but worriedly look at her. She was pale anyway, but she seemed a little paler, he could see blood trailing down her neck, not a lot, but it was there. Hank didn't think she was suffering from blood loss, but he had seen her bash her head against the ground when Erik pulled her back.
Alethea nodded, although that hurt now that the aches and pains were really kicking in. "Did we...fail?" She asked hesitantly as they took to walking slowly to the exit of the alley. They stood side by side watching the people mill about, uncaring to them just standing there. Alethea winced and wrapped her arms around herself, she was so going to have bruises on her arms from the damn barrier bars, she inwardly thanked Erik with all the sarcasm she could muster.
Hank pressed his lips into a thin line, he wasn't sure she wanted to hear the answer, but he found himself nodding. "I think we might've."
"Well, I suppose not entirely, right? Raven's still out there. They didn't get her, nor did Erik. So, we didn't totally fail, right?"
"That's clutching at straws, but I suppose you're right." Hank agreed, she had a point, he could give her that. "Come on, I think I know where we need to go." He nodded to one side and pulled out from the alley, Alethea trotted beside him quickly, arms around herself and eyes down, she was just hoping the airstrip wasn't too far away.
—
By the time Logan had come to his senses, all who remained with him was Charles. Hank, Alethea and Erik were outside, he couldn't remember what exactly happened; Erik had a gun, Raven ran, Stryker. Seeing the younger male who'd come to ruin his life, it had Logan spiralling and he had a black spot, he didn't remember anything until Charles spoke to him slowly. They left the hotel, blending in with everyone else who was trying to get away from the scene, they walked down the stairs once exiting the foyer and it was carnage outside.
Police cars were stacked on top of each other, barriers were flung everywhere, Hank was stuck in the fountain and Logan couldn't see where Alethea was amongst the hectic surroundings. He didn't know she was stuck on the ground, encased in a broken-down barrier. For all Logan knew, Alethea had run off with Raven; he wasn't too sure how he felt about that, the two females being loose in Paris, but it if meant they were away from Erik, then that was good, right?
Charles's pace back to the airstrip was frantic, he kept looking about himself as if his friend and family were going to spring back up. But it didn't happen, it was awful, Logan knew he felt just as much because of having to just run from the scene. Hank was capable, like he was more than capable, he'd find his way back to them, that was a given.
But Alethea? It was still a problem, a problem that just rattled about Logan's mind as he looked each way before pulling Charles by the shoulder across a street. Pausing to the side so they didn't get in anyone's way, Logan just watched as Charles ran a hand through his wavy hair and looked despairingly around. Logan wasn't good a pep talks, but the look on his face had Charles just sighing and turning away with a frown of his own.
What happened, happened. There was literally nothing any of them could do now. The plan went awry, and all they could do now was adapt to this new plan, or try and formulate a plan to adapt with what happened. Logan inwardly sighed, why couldn't things just go simply? Just why? Not that he'd ever known any aspect of his life to go simply, but this one time, this one damn time, would it have been too much to ask for?
"Hank will make his way back to the jet, if we cross paths with him during that time, perfect. If not, it isn't like we can leave without him, is it?" Logan stated, he wasn't too great at reassurances either, Charles looked pained by his words but otherwise didn't reply, it wasn't like Charles couldn't see what Logan was trying to do, at any time he'd have been thankful, begrudgingly thankful, but now...he wasn't too sure.
Things had been going well, they'd found Raven, they could've just left, easy as that. But no. No, Erik had to interfere, again, like he always did. Charles just let out an annoyed noise and threw his hands in the air, Logan was expecting him to lose it eventually over what happened, he just wasn't expecting him to come out with it now while they walked down the street.
"He just always thinks he knows best; couldn't he see that he's perhaps made the moment worse?" Charles scrubbed a hand down his face and glared at nothing as he continued determinedly walking. It was a stretch to get to the airstrip, but it wasn't like either of them had any money anymore, so a taxi was a no.
Logan tilted his head and thought over that for a moment. "In my experience, he usually makes things worse." Which Erik did, all the time it seemed. It was like the man liked making problems and watching people clean them up. Or he was just so ignorant to him being a cause of a problem, that there was no problem at all. Logan was rather sure shooting and trying to kill Raven was a glaring problem for a few reasons, he remembered that part hazily.
Charles shot him a look, Logan just shrugged, he wasn't going to sugarcoat it for Charles, honestly right now Logan had no clue what was going to happen. Already he was aware that the past, whenever he got back to the future, was already changed now just because of everyone seeing a fist fight in a street involving mutants. So, everyone was going to know mutants existed a lot earlier than what Logan presumed.
Charles didn't pick up a conversation with him again, and honestly Logan was fine with the silence, he didn't do well being lost to his own thoughts which twisted turned and changed as quickly as the traffic lights which were present. He didn't know where to go from here, other than back to America. From there? Not a clue. They still needed to find Raven, that was a given. No matter what, she was going to continue trying to hunt Trask. Either way, or wherever her hunt took her, his security was going to be more alert and on the lookout. Which meant either way, yet again, they could wind up capturing her.
Honestly, Logan was getting a headache and was more than glad to reach the airstrip and jet to sit down and shut his eyes for several moments, or however long it took for Hank to reappear. He may have helped himself to some of the whiskey onboard and sat and watched Charles take to retrieving Alethea's things out from his jacket. Logan found himself frowning softly, he was handing her glasses and gloves with such care, a sad look lingering on his face, Charles too hadn't seen where the amethyst eyed female was, knowing both sisters were out there must've hurt Charles, a lot.
"She'll be okay." Logan honestly had to say he didn't believe himself either so he wasn't surprised by the scoff that came from Charles.
"Is that some future knowledge?" Charles sounded sarcastic, a wry smile on his face as he glanced Logan's way.
Logan shook his head slowly and looked back at him. "No," he replied at length, though she was rather good at surviving, to a point, but she was tenacious enough to think on the spot. "If she's with Hank, she'll come back here with him."
"We both know there is a good chance she could be with Raven. Even Erik, if he thought she could be useful for him, and she'd always try to get back to us or Raven, he could use that to his advantage." Charles ran a hand through his hair again, patting the gloves on the table before him before sighing heavily. He didn't want to think of Erik blackmailing Alethea for his own gain, but would it honestly surprise Charles if he did do that? Charles didn't know anymore. He just knew this had been a bust. They were no better off now than they were before coming. It was good to see Raven, what relief he had of seeing her was so quickly washed away thanks to Erik.
"There's no point sitting here thinking of all these scenarios." Logan stated, at least not yet. They needed to regroup, and when they did Alethea could very well be in that group alongside Hank. Logan couldn't see Hank not trying to get Alethea though, just like with Raven, both were very close to his heart and Hank was incredibly loyal, if he knew a friend was in trouble he would literally do anything in his power to get them back, get them help.
The pair just lapsed into silence then. Charles was too busy clearly going through loads of situations in his head, maybe even trying to figure out if they could have done something different. Logan was just sitting trying to avoid doing just that. There was no point dwelling on the worst-case scenario if it hadn't actually happened, yet. They did glance at each other eventually though when sounds of voices could be heard from outside.
Logan didn't think he'd seen Charles run so fast, but off he went down the aisle, pushing the door more open than what it was; they'd left it open a bit just for the sake of air and in case they heard anyone coming. Even before he stood and went outside, Logan heard the exclaim come from Alethea, he released a breath he hadn't realised he was holding and moved outside too.
"Well, you two took your time, what held you up?" Logan crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the pair. Hank looked a little dishevelled from clearly fighting Erik, his hair was still a little damp along with his clothes. Alethea was in his drying jacket, keeping her hands tucked away and she looked a little worse for wear for whatever happened to her. Logan and Charles didn't know she had slightly scrapped against Erik, if it could even be called that.
"Traffic was horrendous," Alethea said while reaching up and giving Charles one last hug before pointing his way and holding her arms out. Waving her hands, Alethea just smiled and watched the awkward look flit across Logan's face. He had her do something similar, on her birthday, gesturing at him for a hug and he just stood there dumbstruck, much like he did now. "How's the head?" Alethea at least made the embrace a quick one before looking at him warily, she had zero clue what went on in his mind when he had his moment, but he seemed better now.
"Speaking of, I'm hunting out the first-aid kit," Hank said while patting her gently on the shoulder and running into the jet.
Charles sent Hank a confused look, but he'd gone inside so Alethea got the look instead. Logan sniffed, something was lingering about her and it wasn't until she turned her head that it hit him just what it was. Metallic, iron, she was bleeding. He moved hair from her neck and felt the dried substance before Charles basically leapt to her side and looked at the slight trail with a look which was concerned before anger seeped into his clear eyes.
Alethea laughed awkwardly and waved her hands in the air; she was trying to defuse the moment. She had Charles's usually crystalline eyes staring hard at her, he was ticked she was hurt in some way and instantly blaming Erik, which, to be fair, it was his fault. Whereas Logan's dark eyes looked distant, the prospect of her being hurt clearly triggering something in his mind which had him looking slightly despairingly at her.
"Can I get on the jet to explain? I'd rather not do this out here," Alethea sidled past them, even before they replied. Hank was sitting on the sofa which Erik had occupied for most of the flight, kit in hand and gestured at the cushion beside him. Alethea walked over, shedding the damp jacket and her shirt as she did so. Sure enough, the bars from the barrier had left reddish marks on her arms, she let out a groan. Bruises didn't entirely last long, but at the same time she looked worse than she actually felt.
Parting her hair and letting Hank look at the cut back there, Alethea briefly explained her attempt at fighting with Erik. It was brief, definitely brief, by the time she finished at the point where Hank had freed her from the bars, she was cleaning blood off of her neck. The cut on her head wasn't deep, didn't need stitches and Hank deemed it to be okay to just be left, just to be careful when washing and combing her hair. Alethea reckoned, much like the marks on her arms, it'd all be healed within a couple of days.
"This close," Alethea held her thumb and forefinger together, even squinting an eye. "This close to flying away with Raven. Then that idiot stopped me." She pouted and crossed her arms slowly, hesitantly because they did ache from the bars.
Charles still remained next to her, Hank had gone to the cockpit and had taken to seeing about getting them home. Arguably, Hank and Alethea did more than what himself and Logan did. The man in question sat at his usual table just looking at them with a look which Charles couldn't decipher. He for one felt relieved, even if Alethea was a little hurt, to have her back with them. He was reassured that any situation he was concocting in his head hadn't come true.
"I'm going to see if Hank needs any help," Charles patted Alethea gently on the shoulder and left her side, she looked at him weirdly, Hank very much didn't need Charles's help, so she was confused why he was opting out here. Charles in fact, may or may not have been in his right mind for a little while, but it dawned on him that perhaps even Logan needed reassurance, or he had some choice words to say to her. It wasn't like Charles was happy about her trying to fight Erik so...
Logan did sit in silence for a few minutes before rolling his shirt sleeves up and fixing her with a serious look. Alethea crossed her legs on the sofa and just raised an eyebrow, "What happened to you?" If he wasn't going to talk, then she would.
"The man Erik turned the taser on, I'll come to know him very well." Logan explained, the look of recognition on Alethea's face signalled to Logan she'd pieced together what he was perhaps hinting at. He pointed a finger to his temple, "My mind got rocky," he said with a smirk appearing on his face, he was told not to let things get too out of control because he could slip back, well it almost happened thanks to Stryker. He then pointed his finger at her, mainly her arms, without her shirt and just being in her vest made the red marks very obvious.
"Oh," she laughed awkwardly and nodded, pushing hair over her ears as she did so. "Yeah, I ache. I am not equipped to fight Erik. I'd rather have him on my side, than as my enemy."
Logan quirked an eyebrow at the statement and found himself chuckling. "Trust me when I say, even when on our side, he still makes things difficult."
"We've already seen that," Alethea stated, this wasn't her first rodeo with Erik going haywire on a plan and doing something else. Something told her that Logan too was used to this from Erik as well. With a sigh, Logan looked around the cabin before sliding out of his seat and coming to sit where Charles just was. "I feel like we're all back to square one," she said slowly, watching Logan lean back on the sofa and cross one leg over the other, he did let out a thoughtful noise though, clearly, he may have suspected the same. "So, because we failed, does that mess up your friends in the future?" Alethea asked hesitantly, she didn't know how this all truly worked, but it was clear failing to stop Raven the first time led to Logan's future, but now that they'd failed a second time, Alethea just wasn't sure what was going to happen now.
"I don't know," Logan replied honestly with a slow shake of his head. He really didn't know; it was something which he had dwelt on though. "We'll just change our plan," Logan said, watching as she turned to face him, she looked a little confused. Logan exhaled slowly and looked back at her, "You shouldn't have gone against Erik head on."
"Pfft, I didn't have much choice, seems you were tripping." Alethea rolled her eyes, Logan shot her a look before feeling the jet move, his hands gripped onto the edge of the seat, they both should probably be seated in a chair, but Logan was not moving, not now. With a quiet laugh, Alethea lifted up her hand and held it out to him. "Even with what you say, I do feel like I failed. I could've got her away, if it wasn't for Erik."
Logan's hands still gripped onto the edge of the seat, he was sitting rather rigidly and just struggled to look at her. Honestly moving right now was awful, once back in the air okay, it would improve, but right now, no. "You didn't fail. You did all that you could. Erik is not an easy opponent to beat, trust me, I've learned that well enough. Just, next time don't go head on alone."
Alethea rested her hand back in her lap and bumped her shoulder gently against his, she looked sorry though when Logan just let out a groan, him hating flying did amuse her a bit and honestly, she wished there was something she could do to help him, but she didn't know what. "Sure, next time I'll just leave you to it and go from there."
At least his skeleton wasn't metal, but Logan still didn't like the prospect of fighting Erik. Feeling the jet level out, he looked slowly her way. "Did he hurt you?" Logan asked, it seemed ridiculous seems she was bleeding and the marks on her arms, but there didn't seem to be physical injuries, like what would be seen from an actual fight.
Alethea shook her head slowly, "He was just trying to get me out of his way. Seeing as how I wasn't going to do that, his next best option was to get me out of the way. I just didn't expect him to trap me against the ground." Honestly, if Erik wanted to hurt her, he would've quite easily. That wasn't to say he was holding back or anything, at that point she just wasn't an enemy, she was a hurdle, something in the way to get to his goal.
"Always suspect the unexpected with that man," Logan stretched his legs out and crossed them at the ankles, he crossed his arms across his chest and frowned. Erik was a hard person to gauge at the best of times. He came out of his thoughts and tensed a little when he felt Alethea give a fidget and end up yawning quietly and leaning her head against his shoulder.
"What do we do now?"
Logan glanced down at the top of her head, "We'll get back home, see what's going on, and go from there. We'll just change the plan, remember?" He said quietly, he didn't know what else they could do, there was no point dwelling about it now. He felt Alethea give a slight nod, but she didn't reply to him, in fact she felt like she was getting heavier against him; Logan didn't know what herself and Hank did to get back here, but on top of trying to keep Erik at bay, it was more than clear that Alethea was tired.
