"Done. Get changed and go to sleep, I'll wake you at seven."
"Gee. Thanks. Um, but isn't the meeting at eleven?" I rubbed my nose, sniffling quietly.
"Xander just texted me and said the company's sent the contract over on express. It'd most likely arrive at six; seven a.m. latest. We'll order room service for breakfast and go through it once more before meeting up with the coordinators."
I nodded, shuffling behind the couch to change my boxers. "Alright. I'll set the alarm to five-thirty to get the door. You can sleep in-"
Blake began undressing out of nowhere.
"Uh Blake," Ohmybananas he wears Calvin Klein? "You're just a step away from that chair which you could have used to hide yourself-sneeze-or something!"
My superior raised a skeptical brow. "And I should hide myself because...?"
"Well," I paused. Because if you don't, I might faint?! "It's, like. Inappropriate?"
"To see my cock?"
I practically squeaked. "Holy bananas Blake, you didn't have to say it like that ohmyg-I mean, you could have just. You know, said it. Nicely? Blake you're my superior!"
"We're not working now," He pointed out with a laugh, shifting behind the chair regardless. I swear that small action practically saved my sanity that was the cost of my previous encounter with Blake after his shower.
"Yes, yes point to you," I groaned under my breath, sniffling miserably as I slipped on my favorite oversized graphic tee before collapsing on the bed.
I opened a lazy eye to catch Blake, having changed into a new pair of boxers, retrieving a bathrobe from the shower room. "Mffphm?"
He laughed in response. "I have no idea what you're saying." A face towel appeared out of nowhere, landing on top of my head. "Dry your hair before you sleep."
Honestly Blake...you gotta stop being so nice. Look, no one's really...nice, in this world. It's really hard to be, you know?
No one's going to reward you for being nice.
You should...scold me, or something. That way, I won't have this weird feeling in my chest. I can handle insults, at least. I'm more accustomed to those kind of things.
"Thanks."
Blake looked at me weird. "For what, idiot?"
Not this; this strange thing in my chest that's probably-
"I don't know."
Bad for the heart.

"This is my secretary, Ace Salander."
I raised an awkward hand in acknowledgement, and Mr. Hunter extended his in return. "Nice to meet you Salander."
"Likewise, Mr. Hunter." Woah, his handshake packs a punch. I cradled my hand behind my back.
"Mason," He turned to Blake all of a sudden, tone fairly serious. "We have no excuses regarding the miss in the contract; it was entirely a mistake on our part. Forgive us? For all the distress we've caused-unforgivable, really, but I'm sure you're as magnanimous as Jaxon says you are."
"S'all fine, Hunter. No more mistakes from now on then? I hope," Blake replied with a light smile. Haven seemed rather amused by the series of events. Jamie however, appeared nervous as hell.
"You have my word, Mason. In fact, I'll personally ensure that Jamie here will never make the slightest mistake ever again, isn't that right Jamie?"
All eyes turned to Haven's assistant, who looked at his feet meekly and managed a feeble reply. "Y-Yes, sir."
After a couple of reassurances dished out by the one and only Blake Mason; induced rounds of apologies, and Jamie's repeated bowing, we somehow managed to get to the stage of going through the contract and getting Mr. Hunter's approval.
All the while however, I was pretty sure that Mr. Hunter was the one who couldn't quite get over blaming Jamie for the entire incident. And while he was at it, he didn't seem to stop bringing up the word "punish" either.
*
Lunch was a mere formality between the representatives of the two companies. Jamie and I were fairly irrelevant-cast aside in most conversations and left to the dark corners of our mind, which I didn't particularly mind (omg that pun). There's no complaining about the amazing French cuisine I had laid out before me-in fact, I've never tried French cuisine in my whole entire life up till now and I must say it is absolutely exquisite-so the time to myself had all come to good use.
As always, Ace's mind was filled with nothing but holy bananas and the inclination to appreciate good food like instant noodles; therefore, such an event like French lunch was delightfully received.
"How is the food, Salander?" Mr. Hunter turned to me all of a sudden with a very sexy smile. "Jamie came up with an entire list of restaurants but Haven and I narrowed it down to this one. I hope it's to your taste."
"Yes sir, it's um. Very good. My taste is-yes. I should shut up now," I laughed awkwardly, and Haven did so too. I've realized that she was particularly sensitive and apt at saving people from the deathly pits of embarrassment.
"I had no idea you liked French too, Ace. A lucky guess for me it is, then," She said brightly, proceeding to push the platter of escargots closer towards me. "Please, do eat more. You look awfully drained. You should eat more too, Jamie."
"Yes Jamie, do eat," Mr. Hunter agreed offhandedly. "You look like the type to like dessert. How about we order more after we're done with the mains?"
"U-Um, it' okay Mr. Hunter. I'm quite full," Jamie smiled meekly, looking at his lap as he adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"What do you mean by 'look like the type', Chief?" Haven said curiously. "How does one 'look the type'?"
"Fair point Haven. I'm not so sure of that myself," Mr. Hunter replied in a quipped manner.
Blake helped. "I assume there's a certain way someone looks that invites one to make assumptions regarding that person. They may be accurate sometimes, depending on the level of apt judgement that one makes. Do you like desserts Jamie?"
Jamie nodded.
"Ah, then as expected. Hunter is a good judge."
"Why thank you Mason," The Chief laughed, taking a sip of his drink. "I appreciate that."
Haven, who was sitting directly opposite me, was looking at me strangely. "You know Ace, you remind me of...that guy who acted as The Flash, in, you know, 'The Flash'."
I blinked. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Blake trying to control his laughter. "The TV series?"
"Yes!" She nodded vigorously. "You watch?"
"No, not really uh I don't have cable you see. But-you're saying that I look like Grant Gustin?" I confirmed dubiously, since obviously, he was hot and I was...not.
"Yes!" "No." "Nah." "A little." Everyone replied at the same time.
I paused, hesitating in my response. "Um. Okay, I-uh. Thanks everyone." I flashed a quick smile before sort of glaring discreetly at Blake who said 'no'.
