Boring, that's the first word that comes to mind when I try to describe the day at school I had just experienced. It was same old, same old. Nothing new. The school was crazy and hectic, but that was all normal. Me and Grace hanging out at lunch, all the guys gawking at us. Our hair was styled on fleek and our makeup was on point. Per usual for us at least. When I got to the lunch table I noticed something strange.

The guys weren't sitting at their usual spots, but I guess that didn't really matter, they were just annoying the other girls. The mass of grade seveners flooded into the lunch area.

"Look at what the cat dragged in," one of the girls, Megan sneered. I gave her a weird look, but then I saw what she was pointing at. One of the grade seven girls, her hair was soaked in what looked like honey, and she had a look on her face that told everyone that she was struggling not to cry. I nudged Megan and gave her a dirty look.

"We shouldn't pick on the newbies," I reminded her with an eye roll. Her mouth snapped shut and she looked at her feet. One of the guys must have pulled a prank, probably meant for someone else. Not for a little newbie. My lips turned into a slight pout, who had that prank been meant for. I guess I'm glad that the newbie got it instead of me.

After that I can't really remember much, the day had been such a blur. But one little thing I do remember, was being happy. That must have been the last time I had been happy, in a long time. I also remember seeing Chase, the love of my life. His sandy blonde hair was just right that day. And his sea green eyes sparkled with warmth.

I walked home that day, a slight smile planted on my face. We had just won a soccer game, Hillside high against Juniper academy. 3-2 was the score. My house grew nearer in the distance. I saw something strange, my parents weren't home yet. They usually were back by 2:00. I guess there might have been a busy day at the office.

I turned the nob, not knowing what to expect. But little did I know that I was in for the biggest shock of my life.
