You just arrived at a Halloween party. The only one you were invited to this year. You had dressed up as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a classic movie and you thought it would be fun to recreate the look.

You walked in the house and was instantly taken in by a group of friends who were all dressed in crazy costumes. There was music that was slightly loud, but it was all good halloween jams like Thriller and Monster Mash.

"Woah, did you and Ethan plan to match?" some guy says, walking up to you.

"Uh..." you waited for more of an explaination. Who was Ethan and how did you match? The guy didn't even wait for an answer, just walked away and started talking with more people. You shrugged it off. Maybe he's just not quite right in the head.

You walked into the kitchen to get a drink and some food. At parties you'll usually at the food table anyway. As you were taking a sip of your punch a familiar face appeared beside you. The face - or lack of it - was Jack Skellington.

"Jack?"

"Sally!"

"Your face painting is pretty awful," you said, noticing all the flaws in this person's blotchy makeup.

"I'm aware, but don't act like yours is perfect," he fired back.

"Are you Ethan?"

"No, I'm Jack, remember?" then he leant in close to your and whispered, "but secretly, yes I'm Ethan. How did you know?"

"I heard someone earlier say that I matched with Ethan and didn't know what he meant," you smiled, now knowing what the guy was talking about.

"It's pretty cool that we go together so nicely. I can say I've finally found my match," Ethan says enthusiastically.

"We're like a stereotypical love story," you say.

"Jack and Sally, however are not stereotypical," Ethan announces, "they're love story is so weird and different from every other love story."

You nodded in agreement. You actually liked Ethan. He was funny and obviously had good taste in movies and characters. You talked for a while about Halloween stuff, Christmas stuff and then about normal life things.

"Your costumes are amazing! Jack and Sally is a great couples costume!" someone said, walking over to you and Ethan.

"Thanks, but we're not a couple. I actually just met him tonight," you say awkwardly.

"Oh well, I think you'd make a cute couple anyway." The person walks off.

Now it's just awkward.

"Is now a bad time to ask for your number and social media?" Ethan mumbles shyly. You laugh and the awkward tension goes away. You swap numbers and social media with him.

While you were on the phone you realised how late it had gotten. You had stood by the food table all night talking with Ethan. Honestly you would have stood by the food table all night anyway, but didn't think you'd be talking to a charming boy who had a matching costume to you.

"I'm gonna head out now. Nice meeting you and maybe we could hang out another time," You said, slowly walking away.

"Right. See ya! I hope we can do a couples costume next year but actually plan it first," Ethan calls out before you leave the room. You chuckle to yourself. I hope so too.
