I'll be home for Christmas
The week before Christmas Ethan arrived at his former home in Maine. He was enjoying his time with his family by wrapping gifts, drinking hot chocolate and sharing fun memories from the past. One night he was scrolling through his Facebook feed. He never went on Facebook anymore, it was just a mess of political posts and moms trying to be cool.
He saw a post from an old high school friend on his timeline. damn she got hot. He thought, looking at the profile picture. I wonder if she's single. Maybe she has time to hang out before Christmas.
Before he second guessed himself he sent a message.
Hey Y/N We haven't talked since I moved to LA and I wondered if you wanted to hang out since I'm home for Christmas??
He looked over his message a thousand times and slowly started to regret sending out. He started to wonder if you even remembered him or if you just thought he was a creep. Before he even closed his Facebook you sent a message in response saying how you would love to hang out.
His heart did a flip in his chest and quickly made plans with you to meet up on Friday night.
.•°☆°•.
Ethan got ready in his dark blue jacket, his favourite red skinny jeans and a grey beanie. He borrowed a vehicle from his parents and drove to a nearby coffee shop where you had agreed to meet.
He awkwardly stood just inside the door and waited for you to arrive. He was surprised when you walked in and gave him a hug. He hugged you back and rested his head on top of yours. His warm embrace was a lot nicer then the bitter cold of the outdoors.
Ethan insisted on buying you a drink and you thanked him graciously for being such a gentlemen.
"So how is LA?" you asked, sipping your hot drink.
"It's pretty great. It's kind of like a dream come true of getting to goof around for my job. I have so much fun with my friends too," he said, smiling and laughing just thinking about all of his fun memories.
Ethan told you all about his adventures in LA and you told him about everything you've done in Maine since he's been gone.
"Do you want to walk down the street and look at the lights?" Ethan asks when you finish your drink.
"Yeah sure! But if I get pneumonia and die it's your fault," you said.
The two of you walked down the empty street together and gazed at the sparkling lights on the buildings.
"I'm so cold already," you shivered.
"Will this warm you up?" Ethan took your hand and held it in his own. It didn't do a lot to warm you up physically but you felt as if you had a warm sensation in your chest that spread throughout your body and made you feel as light as air.
"That helps a little," you said quietly.
"Thanks for hanging out with me tonight. It's been great catching up," Ethan says, stopping and looking you in the eyes.
"No problem. I love hanging out with you," you replied sincerely. Ethan looks up at the overhang you were underneath.
"Look," he points up, "Mistletoe."
You laughed and your cheeks grew warm. "If you think I'm gonna kiss you Nestor then you're wrong."
"Damn," Ethan fake pouts.
"Maybe a kiss on the cheek will do," you lean in and place a delicate kiss on his cheek.
"That'll do."
