Vaut mieux vivre avec des remords qu'avec des regrets

Have you ever missed something?

Or maybe you've missed someone?

The feeling of loss that can't be replaced by anything else.

When you went away for a weekend and missed your warm, familiar bed. When your dog went missing and you cried for them. When your best friend was busy and you missed their company.

Missing something is hard, but missing someone is painful.

The problem was that she saw him every weekend yet she still missed him. He would nod and smile, maybe say hello, but it was distant and not enough.

Her heart longed for his presence. His true presence. Not just the empty form of who he used to be that greeted her every Friday night.

What happened to the hugs? What happened to the laughs? What happened the genuine happiness that he brought into her smile?

She missed him, but he didn't know.

He never realised how fragile a heart can be.

Nothing could fill the space in her heart that he left. Missing her bed, her dog or her best friend couldn't compare to this.

She didn't have to courage to confront him. She threw away her emotions to cope with the heartbreak. She wouldn't laugh or cry anymore. Her words were empty with no meaning or thought. Just like his.
