every time I see your face I break a little

You heard a ding and glanced down at your phone. A text from Ethan showed across your screen. You quickly swiped and opened the message.

I have an extra ticket for a baseball game tomorrow. Wanna Come?

You smiled and texted back right away saying you were free. Your roommate walked in and noticed your excited expression.

"What's up? Texting Ethan again?" They asked, emphasising his name to tease you.

"Yes," you mumbled, "he invited me to a baseball game tomorrow."

"Oh, so it's a date?"

"Well his other friends will be there like Mark, Tyler. . ."

"Mhm, definitely not a date,"

You decided not to continue the conversation. Everyone assumed you and Ethan were a couple but neither you nor Ethan had confirmed it.

You met Ethan and the rest of his friends at their house. Ethan greeted you at the door and gave you a hug. Then Mark shouted for everyone to get in the car.

You all piled in to a big SUV. Mark and Amy took the front, Tyler and Kathryn in the middle leaving you and Ethan to sit in the back.

The ride to the game was uneventful besides Mark ranting about traffic and Amy reading the directions wrong causing Mark to the miss a turn and make him angrier.

But eventually you arrived and walked to the stadium from the parking garage.

After finding your way to your seats you all sat down and were enjoying the game. Ethan held your hand while his other arm was around your shoulders. You silently laughed thinking about how you told your roommate that this wasn't a date. Ethan obviously thought it was and you weren't complaining.

Nearing the end of the game the temperature dropped enough that you started shivering.

"Are you cold?" Ethan asked, squeezing your hand slightly.

"Just a little," you replied. Ethan took off his hoodie and placed it around your shoulders.

"There. Better?" He asked.

"Definitely," you said, snuggling into the warm hoodie. It smelled like Ethan and that made it ten times better.

"I'm glad you could come tonight. I love spending time with you," Ethan said, holding you close. The game came to a close and everyone was in good mood because the home team won. You barely paid attention to the game because you were too busy talking with Ethan.

Mark dropped you off at your apartment before taking everyone else home and Ethan walked you to the entrance of the complex.

Ethan pulled you in for a hug and said goodnight before running back to the car.

When Ethan got back to the car everyone just had to tease him about liking you.
