Chapter 9
Seto's Point of View (haha, finally!)
I sniffed the air silently. A soft aroma, which was barely noticible, especially to normal players, swam around me. The bristling of the leaves in the forest trees sent chills down my spine. The crawling feeling across my skin left a trail of goosebumps.
Something had definitely happened here, and it had to do with the sorceress.
And I plan to find out.
I scouted the nearby area for any peculiar places that could give me any clues as to what occured. The smell grew slightly stronger when I walked up to a certain tree in the area, which was a definite clue that she was here. I inspected the bark of the tree, hoping to find a clue, for anything really. Just something that could tell me a bit of what happened.
Sadly, I found nothing the first time I searched.
Or the second time...
Or even the fifth time...
I growled to myself in frustration. "Argh! Are you kidding me?"
I'd been at this from the night I talked to Sahjan, which had been two days ago, non-stop. I was fatigued and ready to give out, but I wouldn't stop, even if it offered me a million dollars.
The only reason being that I need answers.
How is she a sorcerer? What happened to the rest of our clan? And does she possess mass amounts of magic? And has she mastered the art of potions and enchantments?
So many questions bubbled in my mind, building one question on top of another. Out of exhaustion, I collapsed onto the ground, resting my aching feet and staring up from under the tree.
Directly above me was the peaceful, blue sky washing by. The rustling from the tree leaves and the soft feel of grass under me was calming and relaxing. The mere beauty of the scene left me slightly breathless. I feel like I could just fall into oblivion if I could just close my eyes...
"No!" I suddenly shouted, officially jolting myself awake. "I need answers..." I thought to myself as I stood up once more.
Since this tree didn't seem to have any information on it, I continued to follow the wafting residue of the missing sorceress.
Soon enough, I came to these bushes. Her smell was strong here, and I don't know why. The smell was radiating off the bushes, so I took a closer look.
Sure enough, I'd found something; it was not at all pleasant.
Blood.
If I looked a bit closer, it seems to be on the sharp branches that jut out from the bush. She must've run through this area, in quite a big hurry. Could she have been running from something?
I don't think she'd make such a rash decision to run through something as simply obviously dangerous as this, unless it was an emergency.
I turned away and started walking again, in search of more information, when I suddenly tripped on something. I can tell you now, the floor is not very friendly with a face.
After shaking off the little chunks of dirt that happened to stick to my face, I realized I had walked over a very important detail.
Tracks.
I took a closer look, hoping to figure out what species it was. Frankly, it was one I'd known that belonged to an old ex-friend. I growled lightly; it being barely audible. So, I'm his territory...
I hated him. I hated him a lot.
But there was no time to glare at the past. Right now, I'm even more concerned for the girl than before. If we're in this area, there's an extremely high chance that she'd been captured already and is being kept captive.
If so, then I guess I've automatically signed myself up for a rescue mission.
~*~
Sorry, it's a really short chapter!!! :(
Laziness sorta took over. School starts for me in about a week, and man, I'm honestly dreading it. ;(
Well, yah. That's it.
Bye! XD
