thirty-eight

[I know that i do tend to jump months a lot, but Amy staying on that bus for another week really bored me to be honest. I had been promising that the fan fiction would take a major leap, and i'm keeping that promise! this is basically all just a set up. I hope you enjoy! xx :)]

Alyssa woke me up to inform me that we made it into another state, and said her and Louis were going to get her checked out at a clinic.

I was freezing; the bus’s air conditioning was on full blast because apparently that’s the only way Niall can sleep. I didn’t know how to change the temperature, and Harry wasn’t with me so I had the thin covers wrapped around my body. I shivered as I wrapped them tighter around me, and tried to sleep again. Everyone was out of bed except me, and I was pretty sure Harry was in the shower.

The events of yesterday still came back to me in flashes, thinking of how everything happened and how it could have been prevented. Although I don’t think anyone could have fully prevented it from happening, even if I truly wished that we could.

I tossed and turned in the bunk until I couldn’t take it anymore. I climbed out, and pulled on one of Harry’s hoodies, and then made my way towards the kitchen. Three out of the five boys were in there cooking breakfast, and turned when they heard me come through the door.

“You’re up early.” Zayn smiled as he took a sip from his water.

“It’s freezing in here, I couldn’t sleep.” I pouted.

“It’s cold in here, but it’s really hot outside.” Liam said.

The boys nodded, and I took a seat on the counter.

“Do you want food?” Niall asked as he cracked some eggs into the frying pan.

I shook my head, “No thanks.”

I leaned against the cupboards behind me, and pulled the sleeves on Harry’s sweater down, and held them tightly in my hands, trying to contain my body heat.

“When did Louis and Alyssa leave?”

“About an hour ago.” Liam replied.

I nodded and rubbed my eyes.

“You and Louis aren’t getting along, huh?” Niall asked casually.

“No.”

“It’s his fault.” Zayn said.

I shrugged my shoulders and sighed, “I don’t care. I’m not here for him, I’m here for Harry.”

“That’s the spirit, champ.” Liam praised.

I smiled at the boys, and then looked over at the door, to find Harry just walking in.

“Oh hello!” I greeted.

I didn’t know what it was, but when Harry walked into a room, it made me so happy.

He walked over to my and placed a kiss on my cheek, then tugging at the collar of his sweater.

“Cold?” He smirked.

“Aren’t you?”

“I’m used to it now.” He said rubbing my arms.

Nearly 2 hours later, we were all still in the tour bus, and Alyssa and Louis decided to come back. I leaned on Harry as we sat on the couch, and the boys played a new video game they found.

I picked my head up and turned towards the door, to find Alyssa walking in, with Louis close behind. I waved and smiled at her, and she returned the gesture and came to sit beside me, handing me the ultra sound photos.

“Six weeks?” I gasped as I looked up at her.

She nodded her head and pointed at the picture in my hand.

“That circle is the baby.” She said “And that is my uterus.”

Harry looked over my shoulder and stared at the photo.

“That’s wonderful.” I smiled up at her.

“Truly is.” Harry smiled. “Congratulations.”

“Thank you.” Alyssa smiled, looking back down at the photo.

5 MONTHS LATER

One direction was now in Australia, and Alyssa and I were back in England again. I had recorded most of the songs on my album, and it was set to be released in 2 weeks’ time. Alyssa was now 7 months pregnant, and things were going pretty good. It was September, and the leaves on the trees in our back yard were beginning to litter the ground.

I got out of my bed and went down the stairs. Alyssa was at the table eating cereal as she read through a book she’d been stuck on for the past couple of days. I was surprised when she didn’t gain very much weight throughout the pregnancy. Her face still held the same shape as before, and also her legs and arms. The only growing thing on her was her stomach, which I found truly amazing.

She had often told me about how it felt, how she felt kicks sometimes during the night, or how the baby would already respond to her voice. She had decided not to find out the sex until the day of the birth, but kept many names in mind for both boy and girl.

Louis and I were still not friendly with each other, staying away from socialization and eye contact. This didn’t bother me very much, but it bothered Alyssa. She says that it’s immature of us to act this way towards each other. The only thing that bothered me was that she was moving out in a matter of weeks, when the band got back from tour, and I’d be alone in the house once again.

Alone.

“Morning.” I smiled as I walked towards the fridge and got out a bottle of water.

“How was your sleep?”

“It was okay, how are yours?”

“I slept for once.” She smiled. “I haven’t done that in about a month.”

I opened my mouth to talk, but stopped myself when my phone rang on the counter beside me. I got up and looked at the screen. Harry’s ID popped up, and a smile grew on my face.

“Hello?”

“Hi, Love.” Harry answered.

I pouted at the sound of his voice. I’d been away from him for 5 months, and I was really starting to get upset over that.

“How’s Australia?”

“It’s nice here.” He replied. “We should come here sometime.”

“That would be great.” I smiled.

“13 days and I’ll be home, cheer up.”

“You’ve been counting down?”

“I couldn’t help it.” He said. “I wrote a journal.” He randomly mentioned.

“Have you?” I said as I took a seat.

“Yeah, I’ve been writing in it since you left.”

“I miss you.” I sighed.

“I miss you.” He repeated. “Just think, I’ll be home before you know it, and then we can have a sleepover and bake a cake, and wash your rat.”

“Can’t wait.” I replied.

HARRY’S P.O.V

Amy and I stayed on the phone for nearly an hour until she had to go record. She refused to sing me any of her songs after I begged her numerous times. She said it was a ‘surprise’.

Shit I missed her.

I occasionally looked up videos of her interviews on the internet, or videos of her just meeting people. When I watched then it gave me a sense of comfort, making me feel like she was there with me, although she wasn’t, she was actually nowhere near me. She was 10538 miles away from me.

We were in a hotel room, and I was rooming alone for once, which I didn’t mind very much. I enjoyed my own company from time to time; it gave me time to write in my journal. I pulled it out from under my pillow and flipped through the thick pages, reading the words I messily scribbled, some of which were song lyrics, but most of them just narrated my day, and how I thought of Amy.

I landed on the page which held a full body description of Amy.

I started at her hair, and worked down all the way to her feet. Writing every little detail I had loved about her, well, every detail in general.

I wrote about the small freckles on her shoulders, and the birth mark on the back of her neck, which she completely hated, even though she couldn’t see it. I wrote the most about her eyes, taking up nearly 2 pages, of just my thoughts.

152 days without Amy and I remembered her eyes the most;

I missed them the most.
