I lifted my sun glasses up to my head, smiling at Harry as he came towards me. A quick peck on the lips is all I received as Harry soon turned his attention to champ. He knelt down and pets his ear, Champ reacting the same way as he did with me. I smiled at the sight before turning to look out the window again, scared Erik could still be lurking around. I shook the thought out of my head, scared of what my mind would do if I continued to think so deeply about it.

“His things are still in the car, guards had to carry them out for me.” I cocked my head towards the door.

Harry chuckled, “You had to get someone to bring it for you?”

“It’s a lot of stuff.” I defended.

Harry threw his head back in laughter as I bent down to take off my boots, standing up as he came towards me. I put my shoes into the closet before turning back to face Harry. He took my hand in his, unlocking the door and pulling me out with him.

“Harry I don’t have my shoes on, it’s wet!” I wiggled my arm.

“Stay still.” He ordered.

In one swift movement I was in Harry’s arms, and he was walking me down to the car. Now keeping me up with one arm he opened the trunk, pulling out the three items and piling them onto my stomach. I reached up to close the trunk as Harry kept me steady in his arms. On the way back up the steps he told me about how he just carried me, and all my dog’s items and I couldn’t even carry them on my own.

We got back into the house, Harry putting me down once I grabbed all the things that were placed on me. I wobbled into the kitchen, placing everything down for us to set it up. It seemed that Champ had already taken his spot on the couch, as Ruffles rested in his bed in the kitchen. Although the two had been separated for numerous months, they didn’t seem too excited to be reunited.

Once everything was set up, Harry and I went to the table to eat. We ate in silence for a few minutes, causing thoughts of Erik to creep back into my mind. After numerous attempts of forgetting I just couldn’t seem to shake the thought out of my mind. What if he was up to something? He wouldn’t show up for nothing, and I feel like he was analyzing the property. For what? I have no clue.

“My mum said we should be there for lunch tomorrow.” Harry broke the silence. “I think we should leave at around 10 or 11.”

“Alright, sounds good to me.” I shrugged.

“Wear something comfortable this time.” He pointed at me. “We’re putting up the tree with them.”

I pushed his finger down before answering, “Pointing is rude.”

“I’m sorry.” He brought my hand up to his lips, pressing kisses to my knuckles.

“If you want to be out of the house that early, we should go to bed soon.”

“We’ll go in an hour.”

We began to clear the table, placing the dishes into the dishwasher, and turning it on. Afterwards we went into the living room as usual, and watched random shows for about 2 hours. Harry told me about the characters, having something to say about each one of them, and how stupid they all were. He placed a pillow on my lap halfway through, Laying on his side to face the TV still. My fingers often combed through his curls, watching Harry more carefully than I had been watching the show.

As the show came to a close, Harry sat up again. Taking the pillow off my lap and placing it back at the end of the couch, and then turning the TV off.

“Are you tired?”

I nodded my head before looking down and rubbing my eyes. Harry stood up, and I followed closely behind him as he shut off all the lights. We got upstairs and I desperately took off my clothes, putting on a tank top and my yoga shorts before slipping into bed with Harry. He kissed my lips before kissing my head, and gently bringing me to his chest, steering away from my sore back. Before I could bring myself to kiss him back, I was already drifting off to sleep. The events of today slipping away as I was finally at peace.

I didn’t know where Harry was, he was nearly three hours late. I was hesitant to prepare the dinner I had planned, but decided to go forth with it anyway. I left all the curtains and blinds open as the sun began to set, casting orange rays into the kitchen. The dogs sat on the floor watching me as I filled their food bowls. Once I finished I began dinner, calling Harry and asking where he was so I could know when he would be home.

It was unusual for Harry to not answer his phone, especially when I was the one calling. I didn’t think much of it though, placing my phone back onto the counter as I began to make soup. It was a fairly normal night; things were in order except for the fact Harry wasn’t present. The dogs were fed right on time and I was cooking dinner for once. I couldn’t shake the eerie feeling I had in my stomach, almost the feeling of excitement but replaced with fear.

I placed everything into the pot, lowering the fire on the stove to allow it to slowly cook. I placed myself up on the counter, scrolling through my phone to pass time I wished I was spending with Harry. I sat up straight as I heard a car door slam out front. I slid off the counter, quickly walking to the large window in the sun room.

I peeked out and saw a car in the drive way, but no one was coming to the front. The car wasn’t Harry’s. It was a broken down small blue car, looking even worse as it was parked beside my car. My heart began to pound as I ran to the front door, locking it quickly. I went to the key pad and turned on the home security as well, needing as much protection as I could get right now.

I wished Harry could hurry home.

I dialed his number again, shaking as I lifted my phone to my ear. The familiar buzz came through the speaker again; numerous rings went through before I got an answer.

“Harry someone is at the house.” I frantically spoke. “I don’t know where they are but their car is in the drive way, and I’m scared, Harry.”

“I’m nearly home, hang in there.”

“I’m scared.” I whispered. “Please hurry.”

And with my last words the line went down. I took my phone off my ear only to find it was dead, I had no other way of contacting anyone at this point, sending me off the edge in fear.

I slid down the front door, making it my only hiding spot since I didn’t close any curtains. I wasn’t about to go and do it now.

My fingers crossed in my lap as I hoped for Harry to come and be with me, I wanted him to deal with it and make me feel safe. I knew I couldn’t do it myself. Hell, I was shaking by the front door as someone lurked around the house, I knew I couldn’t do out there and check it out.

My dogs began to bark from the kitchen, as the glass doors rattled. I stood up and carefully walked to the entrance, looking up at the door and seeing an all-black figure. I gasped as the back door was opened and my dog’s barks got louder, now echoing through the foyer.

“Hello Amelia.” I faintly heard through the continuous barks.

I couldn’t move, my body stay frozen in front of the predator.

“Amelia.” They said again. “Amelia.”

I shot up from the bed, panting as my head rested in my hands as I tried to steady my breathing. Harry came up beside me, rubbing my back as I took shaky breaths.

“It was only a dream, love.” His raspy voice whispered.

“Harry it-“ My dog’s barks were heard downstairs, just like my dream.

I quickly looked over at the clock- 2:00 a.m. Harry got out of bed quickly, putting on his sweat pants as he left his chest bare. I got out of bed as well, following behind him until I got to his side, and then taking his arm close to me.

“Amelia, stay here.”

“No, let me come.” My voice shook. “I don’t want you to go alone, I need to come.”

He shook his head at me before we both continued downstairs. The dogs were in the kitchen, barking at the back door. I stopped in my tracks, keeping Harry in his spot before he encouraged me further. He turned on all the lights as we went further into the kitchen. The dogs both continued to bark at the door, as we went up behind them. I let go of Harry and took Ruffles into my arms, allowing Champ to take control. Harry turned on the back lights facing the back yard before opening the dog. Champ immediately bolted out into the yard, running towards the back gate. His barks became vicious, provoking Ruffles who began to squirm in my arms.

“Now you have no choice, you need to stay in here.” Harry ordered.

I reluctantly followed his orders, watching him step out into the dark, closing the door behind him.

I walked to the sun room, pulling open the curtain to look outside. The car I was expecting out front wasn’t there like it had been in my dreams. Champ and Harry came around the corner, searching through the front and going back through the other gate. I shut the curtain, unable to withstand the need to be with Harry. The back door opened and closed, and in came Harry along with Champ.

“No one is there.” He finalized.

I knew someone had to be there at one point. Something would have to trigger the barking, or someone.

“Okay.” I softly answered, placing Ruffles back down.

“Come here.”

I walked to Harry, almost throwing myself at him before he took me into his hold. I took shaky breaths again, still afraid of what could have happened, who could have been there, and my dream. Harry ran his fingers through my hair.

“Nothing will happen to us.” He kissed my shoulder. “We’re safe.”

I nodded into his chest, not finding my voice to verbally answer. Not that I would have trusted it anyways, knowing it would be just as shaky and terrified as my thoughts.

He took my hand in his, leading me back upstairs again. I went onto my side of the bed, lying on my stomach as I raised the blanket up to cover me. I felt like crying from all this stress, although it wasn’t very much it felt like such a heavy weight on my shoulders.

“Are the doors locked?” I shot up. “And the gate is the gate closed?”

“Yes, Amy. Stop worrying; tell me what you dreamt about.”

I felt my throat tighten at the topic, wanting nothing more than to have the horrible images erased from my mind. I often swore that if I could, I would have turned around right when I first saw Erik, not involving myself with such danger in the first place. But I knew if I didn’t pass that point in my life, I would have never come to England. And I would have never met Harry.

Who would have ever guessed such a wrong choice, could lead to such a beautiful being.
