Morgan Quinn once seemed to have it all: a bright future as Oklahoma's next All-Time Champion Bull Rider, a supportive adoptive family, a loyal circle of friends who celebrated every victory and mourned every failure with him, and the love of his life by his side. He felt at the peak of his life and believed that he had everything he could ever desire. Tragically, with one cruel and sick twist of fate, none of that seemed to matter when one of his best friends dies and he's plunged into a dark spiral of grief, sabotaging his chances at his championship title and shattering the bond with the only girl he'd ever loved, only to still pay for it almost a decade later.

Adriana Cruz had once embodied everything she believed a good southern girl was supposed to. With a wholesome nature, striking beauty and strong faith, it was safe to say that she was every good ol' country boy's dream girl. Yet, beneath her seemingly perfect exterior hid a closet full of skeletons she wasn't quite ready to reveal yet. Especially when it came to exposing them to the only boy that'd had the ability to make her feel like her utmost self. Now, nearly a decade later, she's a little older and she's back in her hometown to help plan her mother's wedding, hoping to escape from the new skeletons she's accumulated since her departure all those years ago.

Fortunately, Morgan and Adriana are brought back together during a night out with friends, giving them the hope of one final chance to make up for the time lost between them. However, the universe seems to have other plans as ghosts of their past and the skeletons they buried deep in their closets resurface, forcing them to decide if the love they have for each other is strong enough to withstand the choices they've made and the consequences that follow or if they'll let more time slip away, keeping them from the things they can't bear to live without any longer.
