Chapter 12

"What the hell just happened," Yuhan hollered.

Kai was passed out on the vines, while lay on the floor in a ball. I couldn't stop shaking and crying. I was so scared.

Yuhan sat down beside me and pulled me into his arms. I began to fiercely cry. I became so hysterical, that I couldn't control myself.

Once I began calming down, I noticed Kai was breathing steady, and his body no longer had the tension it did earlier when he was in pain.

I scanned over more and saw all the cuts and scars had disappeared from his skin. I gently pulled away and look closely at Kai's skin. Yuhan began to notice as well, and got up to walk over to him.

He shifted Kai onto his side, and Yuhan and I stared with awe. He was completely healed. No scars, but brand new looking skin.

"How...?"

"So you really are the life magician..."

I turned my head to the door, and there stood the girl from the camp I has seen dog herself underground.

She crossed over to me and sat on her knees. she grazed over me, inspecting every inch of my body. " You know, when I first heard that a new life magician had risen, I was doubtful. Yet, here you are before my eyes. On top of all that, you're also the dead Princess, isn't that right?"

"I didn't know I was supposed to be dead."

I have a light laugh. Her emerald eyes showed something behind them however. Some kind of remorse or regret, I could sense it.

"So, explain to me how a life magician healed someone. Isn't that only for the Healers."

"Well you're a life magician. You control the speed at which things can grow or the certain qualities that something looks. You can change the very being all together. You simply sped up the skin cells."

Yuhan was listening in on our conversation while trying to occupy himself with something so I wouldn't notice him snooping. I certainly didn't need powers to determine his horrible acting skills.

Then, I realized going to the Healer and making Kai hike all that way, was a waste of effort. I could've healed him myself if I had known about my ability. I guess the powers are still locked up, slowly releasing over time. I'm thinking if I did receive all my powers at once, my body wouldn't be able to handle it well.

"Now Life Magician, do you know who I am?"

I nodded, "You're the earth magician."

She smiled genuinely and bowed her head a bit.

"Wait what?" Yuhan chimed in. "So the earth magician we've been looking for, that's her," he motioned to the girl.

"He's slow, huh?"

I burst out into laughter. She didn't know how right she was. Seems she picks up on things quickly.

All of a sudden, Kai began having a coughing fit, and waking up. I silenced my laughter and ran over to him. Kai clutched his forehead, and was breathing heavy.

"What's wrong? What can I do?"

Kai cleared his throat, "It's nothing, I'm fine. Just had a bad dream is..." Kai stopped abruptly and stared down at his chest. He skimmed his hand over the fresh new skin, then raised his head to me, looking for answers.

"I healed you Kai, no more pain."

Kai looked at me with admiration. Those endless eyes, as purple as the the clouds in a sunset. If only I could stare into them forever...

The girl cleared her throat, and our connection broke. She swayed on the balls of her feet, hands clutched in front of her.

"Listen, I came here because I know you need me to take back the castle. I've been trying to track you down for a while. I went to that camp, but by the time when I got there, I was surrounded. So, I got lucky when you came here to the same place I was."

"You want to join our group."

She nodded eagerly,"I want to help you become our rightful ruler. Oh! I forgot to tell you my name!" She reached out a hand,"My name is Gaia, and ... you're Scarletta right?"

I clasped her hand back, "Scarlett, I'm Scarlett. Scarletta died a long time ago."
