Chapter 11 - Supreme

I was over at Calum's house for the afternoon the next day, and we were just talking. Calum brought up about me being a witch. We didn't talk much about it, mainly because we didn't want his parents or sister to hear since we promised Delia and Fiona that we wouldn't tell them.

"Calum!" I heard faintly from downstairs, but Calum didn't hear, and I forgot about it since Calum had been talking to me. He kept going.

"Calum!" I heard getting closer. It was his dad's voice. His dad walked into the room right as Calum was about to finish talking.

"I just want to make sure you knew that nothing will be different between us now that I know you're a witch. I don't know if I've told you that or not.." His voice trailed off. I looked up at David who was waiting there patiently.

"Yeah, dad?" Calum looked up.

"Your mum wanted to know if Sarah was staying for supper," he looked over at me, smiling.

"Um, yes, if that's okay with you guys?" I smiled back.

"Of course that's okay!" He exclaimed, "thank you guys."

"You're welcome dad!" Calum yelled after his dad closed the door.

I thanked Calum for what he had said earlier, and he smiled. I loved him so much. I couldn't believe that he was this accepting of me being a witch.

"So are you going to be staying at the academy forever?" He asked.

"I don't know. Someday, I might become the Supreme, like Fiona is. I have been discovering new powers, lots of new powers," I got excited. I turned to his desk and concentrated on it. Calum watched as I lifted it up.

"Put it down! Put it down!" Calum exclaimed, "all of the papers in the drawers might fall out!"

"Sorry," I apologized before I showed him my other power, pyrokinesis. That's creating fire with my mind. I took a piece of paper and lit two of the corners on fire. He was amazed, yet blew them out after they started getting too far towards the middle of the paper.

Next, I used my concilium (or mind control) to make Calum kiss me. It's not like I needed to force him to, but I did make him that time. He pulled away and just stared at me, "that's creepy."

"Not as creepy as this," I told him, and I transported myself to right outside of his room, right at the door.

"Where did you go?" He asked, and I walked into the room.

"You're right. That is creepy," his eyes got wide, and he just stared at me. I looked at him and concentrated, "think of something other than how creepy that was."

"Okay.." He nodded when he had thought of something different.

"Really? Pizza?" I looked at him.

"Hey.. I like pizza, okay?"

"Whatever," I rolled my eyes. Calum seemed really interested in my powers and asked me, "can you bring people back to life?"

"I don't know. You mean vitalum vitalis? Yeah, I don't know if I have that or not."

"Instead of teaching you things like they would in regular school, do they teach you things about witches and like the real names of powers and all of the history and stuff like that?" Calum asked, and I nodded.

"Yeah, sort of. They taught us all about the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. They also told us about telekinesis, concilium, vitalum vitalis, pyrokinesis, transmutation, descensum, and divination which are the seven wonders that would need to be preformed to become the Supreme. I can do telekinesis, concilium, pyrokinesis, transmutation, and divination, but I'm not sure about vitalum vitalis or descensum. I don't know if I want to try descensum. Descensum is descending into your own hell, so if you can't do it and you don't come back within an hour, you're stuck in hell for eternity. I think it's sort of scary," I explained.

"Woah," Calum was taken back by all of the information that was just given to him. I laughed.

"A little too much at one time?" I asked him, and he nodded. I laughed again, then apologized, "sorry."

"That's okay," he smiled, "so do you think you'll be the next Supreme?"

"I don't know.  Fiona seems to be getting very weak. We don't know how much longer she'll be with us, so we will soon need a new Supreme. I really hope it's me. Delia is seeming to get stronger, though too. All of the girls are, really," I shrugged, "I'm not sure who's going to be the next Supreme."

"Hm," Calum muttered, "I don't know either, but I'm not as educated in this stuff as you are."

"Yeah," I laughed, "but I just remembered that Madison has a heart murmur, so she can't be the Supreme. The next Supreme should be in perfect health. Who knows who it could be? Maybe before Fiona passes, Madison's heart murmur could be different," I suggested. I was confused on who was going to be the next Supreme.

"I don't know anything about witches, so you're the one to make the call. I'm hoping you're the next Supreme. That would be really cool," Calum smiled. I nodded, "it would be."

"Calum! Sarah!" I heard from downstairs. It was Joy.

We yelled back down, "yeah?" She told us that supper was ready, so we went downstairs and sat at the table. It was a little awkward for some reason, I just couldn't put my finger on it..
