Underworld Takeover
Hades was once again extremely bored by the God's meetings, he pretty much ignored everything that was going on until he heard the one name he hates almost as much as Zeus. Hecate.
"Huh? What the?" Hades looked over to see a skinny woman appear with two winged wolves at her side.
Hermes flew over. "Babe, the winged pooches are too nutty babe, but huh, no minions, policy babe."
"I respect that." One of the wolves grinned.
"Policy is policy." The other agreed before they flew away.
"Hello." Hecate came over and complemented a God one by one. "Aphrodite, darling, lovely as always. Oh Demeter the Spring is your freshest yet. Ares I love what you've done with Sparta."
Ares gave Athena a smug look. "You hear that sis?"
"Oh go polish your spear."
Hecate then spotted Hades. "Oh I'm not talking to you."
"You're on my list." Hades replied back before they gave each other phony air kisses. "Witch." Hades mumbled when she was finally away from him.
Hecate flew over to a presentation she had planned out. "Mighty Zeus, Gods and Goddesses." She made a pointer appear in her hand.
"A magic pointer, oy." Hades rolled his eyes.
Hecate pointed to a line graph she made. "As you can see, the Underworld is under preforming, underachieving, bottom line is it's underwhelming. Now I don't want to point fingers but.."
Hades flamed up and turned her pointer into ashes making Hecate growl at him. "Listen." Hades spoke up. "I moan, but hey, I run one tight Taurus, NEVER had a customer complain got it?"
Hecate flew over to Zeus. "He's old news, he's been doing the same thing since time immemorial. Simply put I can do better."
"Hecate dear." Zeus says calmly. "Queen of the night is a very responsible position. Be a team player huh?"
"Oh I get it, he's your brother and I'm just a witch."
"There's nothing wrong with being a good witch."
"I am a GREAT witch!!" She snapped before floating to Hades wrapping her arms around him. "No hard feelings?"
"Please, what huh? You gave it a shot and hey, you came up short. Boom, done, we'll do lunch." What no one saw was that Hecate trapped some of Hades hair into a crystal and hid it behind her back.
"Can't wait." She gave him a phony grin.
"Me either, good, have your minions call my minions."
"Thanks all you're the mightiest, so long." With that she disappeared.
Hades turned to everyone. "What can I tell ya, when you own your own market share you always gotta watch your back. Is it a little drafty in here?"
"Back to business." As soon as he said that Ares and Athena started arguing again. "Oh I hate these meetings."
Meanwhile in the Underworld throne room with Pain and Panic were playing table tennis with an eyeball again. Pain missed and went to get it but someone else got it first.
"Nice shot" Hecate said as she held it.
Panic nervously chuckled. "Uh Hecate, what a surprise."
Pain came over to. "Hades is not in now."
"What a shame." Hecate smirked while her wolves landed next to her.
"Bad timing." One of the wolves said.
"And timing is everything." The other grinned.
"Well as long as I came all this way, I'll just wait." She floated forward till the imps stopped her.
"No no, not possible." Panic shouted. "No body is allowed in this room when Hades is gone, sorry."
"But you're in here." Hecate pointed out.
"That doesn't seem proper." One of the wolves growled.
"A clear violation of ...." The other wolf was interrupted by the imps suddenly screaming and running around.
"PRINCESS CARISSA!! PRINCESS CARISSA!!"
The two wolves looked at each other till Carissa came in. "Alright, who's the unwelcome guests?!"
"Oh that's right, Hades has a little princess." Hecate grinned at her. "Carissa was it? My have you grown."
"Get out of my home before I really get steamed up!" Carissa snapped before the wolves surrounded her. "Hey! Back off you flying freaks!"
"Oh I like her." One of the wolves grinned.
"Clearly that fire isn't just for show." The other one said.
Carissa swung her fist getting one of them right in the nose as Hecate flew up to her and used the same crystal to trap her as well.
"CARISSA!!" Pain and Panic cried as they saw their princess now trapped.
"As the flame within this crystal grows, The king and princess's fire shall end slow. Until the Godly powers dim, and I can do away with him." Hecate chanted.
Already the spell took effect on Hades as he held his arms shivering while Ares and Athena continued to fight. "Hey, backwoods." Hades caught Artemis's attention. "Is it cold in here? Do you feel a draft in the neck kind of thing? What I wouldn't give for a fur coat." That got Artemis to give him a glare making him back up what he said. "No, you know foe fur. Seriously? Did Zeus forget to pay the heating bill or what?"
Pain and Panic were now as helpless as Carissa when they stood in front of the witch. "Refresh my memory, what purpose do you serve here?"
"We're Hades go to guys and we helped out with taking care of the princess." Panic explained.
"Yeah, speaking of which can you let her out of that crystal? Please?" Pain begged.
"Hmm no, the princess stays with me, she can be a pawn against Hades." Hecate chuckled as she gave them a look. "And since I don't need a couple of babysitters consider yourselves downsized and outsourced."
"Excuse me?" Pain asked.
"You're fired." Hecate clarified making the two of them scream as they were chased by the flying wolves and thrown out into the River Styx.
"NO!!" Carissa cried as the imps were taken away.
"Oh don't worry dear, you're staying right here with a great witch." Hecate laughed as she shook the crystal.
"You're the only one that thinks you're a that." Carissa reminded her.
"Why you little, just wait till the crystal grows."
Meanwhile Pain and Panic quickly swam out of the river throwing dead souls off them. "We gotta tell Hades!"
Sadly when they got to Olympus they weren't allowed in cause they're minions.
"But it's really, really important." Panic tried to explain to Hermes while Pain leaned against the gate.
"Sorry, the no minion thing is absolute." Hermes said before he slammed the gate shut.
"YEOW!!" Pain screamed as his hand got stuck. "Ow! Ow!" He pulled with all he had till he was free. "We gotta get rid of Hecate."
"Now you're talking crazy." Panic waved it off. "That would take someone really brave."
"And strong."
"And heroic."
"And affordable."
Sadly they could only think of one guy.
Hercules was bored out of his mind, his mortal father was injured and gave Hercules the most boring job on the farm. Watching their sheep.
"Surprise, remember us?" Pain and Panic showed up in front of him making him wave his Shepard's cane around ready to attack them.
"Hercules, the hero! We come in peace." Panic promised.
Hercules hesitated for a moment. "This better be good." The two of them explained their problem while he listened. "And you want me to break the crystal and get rid of Hecate?"
The imps nodded. "Uh huh."
"Look, even if I wanted to help you, which I don't, I can't leave the sheep, I'm responsible for them." Hercules explained.
"Who cares about the stupid sheep?" Pain whined.
"The future of the Underworld is grimmer than usual." Panic reminded him.
"I swore the sheep would never leave my sight. Sorry."
Pain screamed freaking out. "Listen to us! Hecate is worse than Hades! The devil you know is a lot better than the devil you don't."
"And our princess is in danger just as much!" Panic added.
Hercules froze. "Wait? Carissa? In danger?"
"That's why we need the crystal broken!" Pain shouted.
"Not only does Hecate have Hades flame she has Carissa prisoner." Panic explained.
Hercules took a second to think. "Well I am responsible for these animals if they stay I stay, if I go they go."
"Whoa, hold it! I don't think so." Panic shook his head.
"The fluff balls stay here!" Pain demanded.
"Take it or leave it." Hercules told them.
Panic groaned. "Fine, whatever, they're your problem just move it!"
Hercules gathered up the sheep, all but one followed quickly Pain glared at her and got behind the sheep shoving it forward. "Yeah, step lively Pokey, we're in a hurry."
Carissa glares as the crystal was now taller than Hecate who was gloating. "By the time to council of the Gods is over Hades power will be drained and I'll be sitting pretty."
"Not possible you wanna be." Carissa told her. "You aren't exactly cover girl material."
"Shut up brat, even if your father does still have a spark left in him when he gets here I can always use you against him."
"My father can't give up the Underworld for anything and you know it, he's the only one capable of running it."
"Oh but he will for you, I remember so well the last time I wanted to use you to take over."
"Last time? What are you talking about?" Carissa asked confused.
"Well you don't remember you were so small and innocent but I was going to take you away from Hades, I thought I was doing him a favor."
"WHAT?!"
"Oh yes, I thought I had the whole God of the Underworld figured out. I take away the crying distraction he'd be so grateful he'd gladly give me the Underworld. But no! He LOVED you! HE ACTUALLY LOVED YOU!! You turned him soft and I had to wait all this time to get another plan."
Carissa's listened closely to what she had to say and couldn't help but smile at knowing that her father has always loved her she almost missed what Hecate said next.
"My focus is to bring in new admissions, lets start with... EVERYONE ON EARTH!!"
Carissa widened her eyes. "What? You can't just go around killing people!"
Hecate gave her a cruel smile. "Watch me."
Miles away down the river the boatman spotted Panic waiting. "Hey Panic, you guys really blew it."
Panic rolled his eyes. "Ha ha, yeah real funny." He gave out a sharp whistle making the sheep and Hercules run forward into the boat.
"Hecate's not going to like this." The boatman sighed.
"Maybe you'd like to explain that to Hades." Panic smirked.
Pain coughed up some wool. "Yeah, he should be back any minute."
The boatman gasped. "Wait now, I don't want any trouble, I just row the boat." With that they were off.
Meanwhile on Olympus Hades wasn't his usual self. He felt like he was going to pass out any minute as he listened to Ares and Athena continue to fight. "Yacka de yack. Can we break for nap time what do you think?" Hades request went ignored as the two continued. "Too much talk, blah blah blah, and too loud Oy."
Pain and Panic weren't doing much better. "Back off pal, you're crowding me."
"Out of my face Pokey."
The boat then jerked making Pokey fall off the boat into the river.
"Oh my gosh! Hang on big fella!" Hercules dived in.
"Guess he's taking a sheep dip." Pain shrugged.
"Oh leave him! You're here to help us not the stupid sheep!" Panic called after Hercules but it went ignored as Hercules grabbed Pokey.
"It's ok, I got ya." He held Pokey up to Pain and Panic. "Grab him."
"Ew!" Pain and Panic covered their noses grossed out at the wet sheep smell.
"Hey, these sheep are OUR responsibility remember." Hercules reminded them.
Pain and Panic grabbed Pokey just in time before Hercules got attacked by a sea monster.
As Hercules fought Panic glared at the sheep that keeps slowing them down. "What are you looking at Pokey?" Pokey licked him making him push her away but he liked how her wool felt. "Soft."
With one mighty punch Hercules sent the sea monster away and him back in the boat.
"Remember, I just row the boat." The boatman reminded them when they all got off.
Up the stairs Hercules went first followed by the sheep then Pain, Pokey, and Panic at the end.
"Hurry Pokey, you can do it." Panic encouraged her to keep going.
"You and that sweater shedder are becoming awfully chummy." Pain pointed out to his partner.
Panic nervously smiled and shrugged.
"If anything happen to those sheep while I'm gone the deal is off." Hercules told the imps.
"Trust us." Panic assured.
Hercules scoffed as he went over to the heavy door lifting it with his strength only to get attacked by Hecate's minions.
"Welcome to the Underworld." Hecate laughed.
"Under new management." The minions said in unison.
"I'll be happy to bring you in... Permanently." Hecate grinned as they dragged Herc in not noticing Pain and Panic with the sheep.
"Shh." Pain kept trying to get the sheep to shut up while Panic counted.
"7, 8, 9... someone is missing."
"Pokey!" The two said together before they looked outside the safe zone.
"Pokey's asleep." Panic groaned.
"Wake up wooly!" Pain shouted.
"Rise and shine sheepy head." Panic tried but she was out cold. "We gotta bring him in."
"Not me brother." Pain refused.
Panic groaned as he started to pull. "Come on, get up." When that didn't work he got behind her. "Move it!"
Pain sighed when he saw Panic was getting no where. "Oh alright." He went to help only to get crushed by the big sheep.
Unfortunately Hercules wasn't doing any better. "Hecate! I must ask that you release the princess, leave the Underworld, and return to haunting the neither regions of night."
"Such a polite young man, get rid of him." Hecate ordered her minions.
"Thanks so much for coming."
"Bye now."
Hercules screamed as he ran away from them making Carissa sigh. "Wish dad was here."
Hades however was crying as he hugged Zeus. "You are so special to me, I love ya like a brother ya big lug."
"Huh.. we are brothers Hades." Zeus pointed out. "Are you feeling alright?"
"I feel different, I do." Hades chuckled before he turned to his other brother. "PoPo, oh I love you like a brother you big slimy fish head."
"You know is it just me or is the H man getting mellower by the minute?" Hermes asked as Hades went around hugging everyone.
In the Underworld Pain managed to get out from under Pokey.
"Um... Pain." Panic started sweating and shaking. "I don't think Pokey is a he."
"He's not?"
Panic shook his head very fast and gulped. "Pokey's... going to be a mommy."
"Ah! When?"
"RIGHT NOW!!" They both screamed freaking out and getting the wolves attention.
"Better go check that out."
"Dig in, I'll handle Mr. Manners here."
Pain and Panic ran around in circles like they were on fire again. "Boil some water! Boil some water! I don't know nothing about birthing some baby sheep! We weren't even there when Carissa was born!"
"Breath in, breath out." Panic coached. "Focus, you're a calm lady, you're a calm lady."
The wolf flew over to them. "Whoa what is this? Some kind of offering to Hecate?"
Pain screamed as the drooling mutt neared them.
"Get your filthy paws off her." Panic growled as he grabbed a stick and started beating the wolf with it.
Pain let Panic handle the wolf while he helped Pokey. "Come on Pokey! You can do it! Push! Push! Cleansing breaths!"
"This one's for Pokey!" Panic shouted as he smacked the wolf upside the head flying him face first into a rock.
Panic turned just in time to see Pain holding the newborn sheep. As they both smiled at it Hades cleared his throat getting their attention. He wasn't mad which was surprising he just looked really old and tired and his flame was gone.
Even so Pain and Panic were shaking in fear as they stood in front of Pokey hoping Hades didn't see her.
"Welcome back." Panic greeted.
"Your.. flamless?" Pain added.
"Don't mind me boys, I can see you're busy." Hades sighed as he walked pass them.
"Hecate is in your throne room boss, she sorta... Took over the Underworld." Panic explained.
"We told her you'd be really flamed off." Pain added.
Hades shook his head as he went into the throne room. "No no no no no no, dominating a realm is a young God's game. Boys retire my number."
Carissa watched as her cousin knocked out Hecate's minion and grabbed a sharp object making Hecate laugh. "Get real, you think you can waltz in here, throw a few pebbles around and go on home? Think again Junior, this is MY Underworld and welcome to it!"
Carissa screamed as the crystal shook violently growing arms and legs. "Help! Get me out!" Hercules tried to attack but the hand grabbed him.
Hades then walked in when he heard Hercules voice. "Hey, good luck, I've tried to waste the kid, he's like a roach! He keeps coming back. Hey flaming crystal, nice."
Hecate flew over to him rubbing his bald head. "Hades, whatever is the matter? Is your light out?"
"Hey, you know, I am feeling a bit.." He sighed. "You know I don't like to complain."
Carissa looked over and saw her father, she widened her eyes at how different he looked and his humor looked like it was gone. "DADDY!!!"
Hades eyes widened as he takes a double look at the crystal. "Carissa?"
"DADDY! HELP ME!!" Carissa cried.
Hecate laughed. "Sorry child but Daddy is all washed out."
Hades however narrowed his eyes as he started breathing deeply with sparks starting to come out of his clenched fists.
"Hades! Together!" Hercules shouted over to him.
Hades rushed over and at the same time they gave the Crystal powerful hits making it fly into the wall cracking freeing Carissa and Hades flame.
Carissa jumped up as Hades was now back to his old self. "BADA BING! BADA BOOM! LADIES! GENTLEMAN!" He glares at Hecate who was shaking in fear. "Third rate pretenders to the throne."
"The REAL rulers of the Underworld is back!" Carissa cheered.
"Gotta go! You're welcome." Hercules ran out of the Underworld running for his life.
"You were saying?" Hades asked Hecate.
"Hey, if you were in my position, you'd try the same thing." Hecate defended herself.
"And if you were in our position.." Hades said as he and Carissa both flamed up and filled the whole throne room with fire.
"Whoo, I feel so much better." Carissa sighed relieved.
"Me too." Hades nodded before he wrapped his arms around her. "Did she hurt you?"
Carissa shook her head no remembering what Hecate said earlier. "The opposite actually."
