The Tapestry Of Fate
Carissa woke up feeling refreshed as always. "Ah, what's going to happen today?" Making her usual long dress replace her pajamas she walked out and saw her father was looking more gloomy than usual. "Morning daddy." Carissa smiled as she kissed his cheek.
Hades sighed. "Hey."
"What's got you down today?"
Hades pulled her into his lap and looked down at her. "My brother again, totally embarrassed me at the God's meeting."
Carissa felt her fists go on fire. "Don't worry dad, we'll get our revenge."
Hades smiled down at her and kissed her head. "Keep doing what you're doing with Jercules and we'll be there sooner than we think."
The alarm that a new arrival filled the Underworld making Pain and Panic run in cheering. "Woohoo! Yeah! Incoming!"
The soul flew by them Carissa widened her eyes cause she swore it looked like Icarus. "No it can't be." Carissa said shaking her head not believing it was Hercules's best friend.
Hades sighed as he rubbed Carissa's back when he felt her get tense. "Another ding, bada bing." He sounded like he was going to fall asleep any second. "I'm thrilled, I'm absolutely thrilled over here." He looked around. "Who can I kick around? YO IMPS!"
Pain and Panic were in front of them in a second. "Actually we prefer to be called Assistant Agents of Darkness."
"Looks better on the resume."
Carissa rolled her eyes as Hades yawned. "Whatever, we'll talk about your job descriptions later. Right now take care of the new arrival."
Pain and Panic saluted. "Yes sir!"
Panic then nervously smiled. "But if your afternoon is open maybe you could meet the newbie."
Pain agreed. "The personal touch goes a long way of giving eternal doom off to the right start."
Hades flared up angry till the Underworld sparked a bright light. "Did we like not pay the bill?" Hades asked confused till a different alarm sounded. "WHOA!" Hades and Carissa ducked as the soul they just got flew out.
"THAT SOUL LEFT! IT LEFT! SOULS DO NOT LEAVE THE UNDERWORLD! AND WHO HAS THE CODE FOR THIS ALARM?"
"It's my birthday dad." Carissa reminded him.
"Oh right, Carissa go get some breakfast, I'll take care of this."
Carissa nodded and got off his lap before she ate and went to do her job as princess of the Underworld. It was Saturday so no school, she was free to do what she wanted as long as she got her work done.
Meanwhile Hades looked at what happened to the soul and saw that it WAS Icarus. Hercules was messing with the The Tapestry Of Fate. Hades's evil smile went big. "Tapestry weaving? Oh my nephew." Hades spent the whole day planning by nightfall he found Carissa in the pool he bought her. He didn't want her to find out what he was doing just yet. "Bedtime Carissa."
Carissa looked up at him like he was crazy. "Bedtime? I haven't had a bedtime since I was twelve."
"I need you to be bright and early tomorrow, so go to bed."
Carissa rolled her eyes. "I'm not even tired."
Hades smirked. "Ok, I'll give you a choice. A) You can either go to bed by yourself now or B).."
"B" She interrupted him.
"Ok, Pain and Panic can sing to you till you fall asleep."
"WHAT?!" Carissa jumped out of the pool. "Ok ok, A, I'll pick A."
"I figured you would." Hades chuckled. Carissa rolled her eyes and grabbed her towel before she turned to leave. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Hades asked. Carissa turned around and kissed his cheek before she left. Hades smiled and grabbed Pain and Panic. "Make sure she stays in her room. I don't want anything to ruin the surprise."
Hours later Carissa woke up to a bright light. "What the?" Blinking her eyes open she was in a room that wasn't hers. "How did I get here?" She looked over to see Hera come in.
"Aunt Hera? Where are we?" Carissa asked.
"Aunt Hera? Darling are you feeling alright?" Hera asked her concerned.
"I'm fine, but what the heck am I doing here? Did Zeus kidnap me or something?" Carissa got out of the bed but gasped when she looked down at herself. Her blue skin was gone and was a glowing cream color. Carissa ran over to a mirror and screamed at what she saw. Her flaming blue hair was gone and was now a normal light pink, her cheeks were rosy and she was wearing a white gown. She tried to change her appearance but it didn't work then she tried to flame up but she couldn't even spark. Freaking out she screamed as loud as she could. Hera rushed up to her and pulled her away from the mirror.
"Carissa, what is wrong? Are you unwell, maybe I should get your father."
"Yes yes! Get him! Get him now!" Carissa demanded as she cried over her missing powers.
Hera and Carissa turned to the entrance when Pain and Panic came in wearing togas. "The King of the Gods!"
"The Ruler of Olympus!"
"HADES!"
Carissa's jaw dropped as she saw her father's flaming hair was replaced with fluffy white hair like a cloud, instead of black he was wearing a pinkish purplish chiron that showed his chest with a pin of a lightning bolt on it.
"Hiya daughter." Hades smiled walking over before he put a finger under Carissa's chin and closed it. "Better close that mouth dearest before a harpie flies into it."
"Darling, I think our daughter has fallen ill." Hera said worried.
"Whoa whoa whoa!" Carissa jumped up. "OUR daughter? What the name of flame are you talking about?"
"Hera, will you give us a minute alone?" Hades asked as he gently guided her out of the room before turning to smile at her. "Hey do you like the new do? I just jump in the shower and away I go, couldn't do that with the old one could I?"
"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Carissa shouted at the top of her lungs. "MY POWERS ARE MISSING! I LOOK LIKE A UNICORN AND HELEN OF TROY THREW UP ON ME! AND YOU'RE WEARING PINK!!!"
Hades grabbed her lips and shushed her. "This is the big surprise princess, now cool down and let daddy explain before you lose that pretty voice of yours from all the screaming." He said gently letting go of her lips. "Now Hercules messed with the Fate's tapestry, and that's when it hit me. If we change the tapestry we change reality! So I made myself king of Olympus and you the princess while Zeus and Jercules are stuck in the Underworld. All it took was some knitting needles and BADA BOOM, here we are. So what do you think?"
Carissa was silent and just stared at him still in shock.
Hades waved his hand in front of her face. "Hello, anyone home in there?"
Carissa shook her head as if to clear it before blinking up at Hades raising her brow. "Dude, I can't take you seriously when you look like that."
Hades gave her an unamused gaze before sitting next to her. "Oh you'll get use to it."
"Seriously, you look like you should be my grandpa more than my dad." She continued.
"Ok." Hades said getting annoyed.
"And you know how to knit?"
"Carissa."
"And what's with the outfit? No daughter wants to she her dad's naked chest. And in a girl's color too."
Hades once again grabbed her lips. "I get it. And look on the bright side now, you're a full Goddess. You don't need your powers to change your image no more."
Carissa waited till he let go of her lips again before mumbling. "My hair looks like cotton candy."
Hades rolled his eyes. "Oy, we'll dye it later. And honestly, I thought this is what you always wanted. I rule the cosmos with you at my side my little princess."
"Yeah, but you could have given me a heads up then I wouldn't be so shocked."
"Ok ok, you're right, you need the time to wrap around this. Take all you need babe, we have all eternity." Hades kissed her head before walking out.
Carissa felt awkward as she was surrounded by all the Gods and Goddesses she's always hated. "Maybe I'll go see how Jercules is taking care of the Underworld." As she left the gates Hera ran over to her. "Darling, what is the matter? Where are you going?"
"I'm going to go visit your son."
"Son? Who told you you have a brother?" Hera asked confused.
"Wait, are you my... mom?" Carissa asked shocked.
"Of course I am, who told you I wasn't." Hera asked her.
Carissa just stared at her before she turned back to leave. "Ok this is WAY too weird." With that she managed to get away from Olympus. "I wanted my dad to rule but not like this." She made it to the Underworld and saw the old throne room was empty but the tapestry was there. Which is odd since it belongs on Fate's Mountain. Carissa walked up to it only to be blasted with a fireball and thrown into the wall. She tried to get up but a huge foot pushed her down. Carissa turned enough to see an imp that looks like Hermes fly into her sight.
"Alright you cats and kittens, give it up for the lord of the Underworld! Zeus!"
"Hermes?" Carissa asked seeing the imp was wearing sunglasses and talking just like him. "For Hades's sake put on some clothes man!"
"Nobody touches the tapestry!" Zeus's voice boomed.
Carissa growled, if she still had her flames she'd be burning full blast. "GET YOUR DISGUSTING FOOT OFF ME!"
Hermes looked down at the girl and saw who it was. "Pardon me sir, but isn't that your niece? The daughter of Hades?"
"So it is." Zeus actually smiled and helped her up. "Long time no see kiddo." Once again Carissa was in shock. Zeus was wearing her father's clothing and his head was surrounded with blue flames.
Hermes flew in between them. "Well have a fun-filled family reunion kids, we just checked in a bunch of new dead people and uh I gotta see who needs doom service."
"Fetch my son too will ya Hermes?" Zeus told his minion before Hermes gave him a 'you got it' sign before flying out.
Zeus looked back at Carissa giving her a hug. "Carissa! I didn't recognize ya, or I wouldn't have blasted you like that."
"Carissa?" Hercules came in and Carissa's eyes widened at the sight of him. Hercules was no longer scrawny and dorky looking. He was super buff and looked like a real hero.
Carissa ran over to him and whispered. "Do you have any idea what's going on?"
"No, I woke up this morning and boom, I was this."
"Me too, dad said it has something to do with the tapestry."
Hercules sighed. "Aw man, this is all my fault. Icarus and I messed with the tapestry just so we could see a concert."
Carissa could have said that it was her father that did all this, but no way. She is not going to throw him under the chariot. "You're right, it's all your fault. But look I'm already sick of my new look and my dad is being a total stiff. I want my dad to be happy but this is wrong."
Hercules nodded. "Agreed. I can't believe how my father's acting."
"Maybe we can work something out." Carissa said as she looked up and said loudly. "Father!"
Hades appeared next to them with a towel around his waist, a shower cap, and a scrub brush. Carissa once again stared at him till he looked down at saw himself. "WHOA!" Disappearing quickly he came back looking the way he did before she left. "Yes my princess?"
"HADES!" Zeus shouted as he quickly pulled Carissa over and brushed the dirt off her. "I'm terribly sorry brother, I.. I mean your highness! I thought your daughter here was an intruder."
Hades's widened his eyes and looked Carissa over. "Are you hurt?" Carissa shook her head no as Hades put his hands on her shoulders and glared at Zeus. "See brother, you always make such stupid mistakes. That's why I'm king of Olympus and you're just a lowly keeper of the Underworld. So hey how are the dead guys huh?"
"Still dead." Zeus replied.
Hades chuckled before he pulled Zeus over away from Hercules and Carissa so they could talk. "Good good good, speaking of which, I think you better destroy Hercules."
Zeus widened his eyes and looked at him shocked. "What?! But he's my son, I took him in after his brother gave him to me."
"And he's trying to mess with The Tapestry Of Fate." Hades told his brother. "It's a teen rebellious thing, you know with the music and the hair, and you know." Sigh. "He's been hanging out with... mortals. MORTAL! What do you do? Where did you go wrong?"
"MORTALS!!" Zeus flamed up bright red and clenched his fists showing nothing but anger.
Carissa widened her eyes at the sight of her uncle, he's not as scared as when her dad flames up but he's pretty darn close.
Hades waved her over. "Carissa, come to daddy." She didn't have to be told twice as she ran to him. "You know what I always say, spare the lightning rod, spoil the child."
Hercules groaned knowing this is all his fault. "All I wanted to do was go to a stupid concert." Pain and Panic snuck up behind Hercules and was about to attack but Hades threw a thunderbolt which Hercules dodged making it hit them instead.
Zeus threw a fire ball at Hercules who grabbed a long spike that was hanging from the ceiling and used it as a bat.
Hades pushed Carissa out of the way as it almost hit her and he flew out the window.
"FATHER!" Carissa screamed as she looked down to see him land in the river of Styx.
She sighed with relief when she saw him rise but a dead soul was hanging on to his head. "Does my hair look stiff? I just got the part right, is there something in my hair?"
Carissa couldn't help but chuckle happy that her father still has his hilarious sense of humor. As she helped pull her father back in Hades shouted. "Grab him!"
"Yes my dark Olympian lord." Zeus saluted as Hermes grabbed Hercules and started punching him in the head but it did nothing, they pretty much felt like taps to Hercules. "Take that you crazy nut." Hermes said continuing to give weak punches.
Carissa saw Pain and Panic nearby recovering from the blast they got from the thunderbolt. "This new cosmic order is a little disconcerting." Pain told Panic.
"And yet somehow, it works." Panic replied.
Hercules threw Hermes off him only to see Hades and Zeus corner him. Carissa sat at the window and watched till she saw something fly in only to see it was Icarus with wings who blew out Zeus's flames.
Zeus got a crazy look on his face and points to his head. "Hey look, I'm bald."
Icarus wasn't alone, he had Phil who he used to knock over the imps that were about to attack Hercules.
Pain and Panic laid on the ground. "That's a spare." Panic weakly said before passing out.
Icarus let out a battle cry as he picked up Hercules and got him to the tapestry. Zeus however was patting his own head. "Cool and refreshing."
Hades and Carissa both gave him a look with their brows raised not believing how stupid he's being. Hades sighed annoyed. "Even as king of the Gods, hey if you wanna get something done you gotta do it yourself."
Hercules found the part Hades made of him being King of the Gods and Zeus being Lord of the Underworld. Hades grabbed another thunderbolt and threw it aiming it right at Hercules.
"FATHER DON'T!" Carissa screamed but it was too late. Hercules got out of the way in time for it to hit the tapestry making a bright light appear.
Carissa opened her eyes to see she was in her bedroom in the Underworld. Throwing off her blankets she looked into a mirror and smiled when she saw her blue skin and flaming hair was back. Screaming with joy she jumped around happy.
Hades now back to his normal look came in with a bat. "What? What? What is it?" Carissa turned and ran to him almost knocking him down. "What's gotten into you?" Hades asked her.
"I'm just so happy we're us again!" Carissa cheered kissing his cheek repeatedly.
Hades just stood their shocked before he put her down and put his hand to her forehead. "Are you feeling alright? You're never like this."
"We're on fire again! My powers are back!" Carissa cheered.
Hades had enough of her screaming. "CARISSA!!"
Carissa stopped and looked at him.
"Just what are you talking about?" Hades asked her crossing his arms.
"You don't remember?" Carissa asked surprised.
"Remember what?" Hades demanded.
Carissa realized Hades doesn't know what he did to change reality and she figures she rather stay that way until they take over Olympus for real. "Sorry dad, just had a crazy dream."
"Were you reading scary stories before bed again?"
Carissa shook her head and hugged her dad. "I saw you dressed like Zeus."
"Oh barf!" Hades gagged. "No wonder you were screaming!"
