Return of Typhon

"This is not how I wanna spend my summer dad." Carissa crossed her arms.

"I know babe, but it's just for one night." Hades said as he grabbed her overnight bag.

"I get why you want me to do this daddy but why her?" Carissa asked.

"Because she's the only one that doesn't want to be involved in this stupid holiday."

"Neither do you."

"I'm a God, I have to go."

"I'm almost a Goddess."

"Doesn't count babe, and even if it does I wouldn't want you there. Last thing you need is to see the Gods drunk and Zeus bragging."

"But she's going to be so depressed and I'm going to have to listen to her stupid brats all day and night."

"Consider it payback for all those times you woke me up in the dead of night."

Carissa glared at him for that. "I'm too old for babysitters."

"Uh huh, and how many times were you kidnapped or threatened just this year so far?"

"You had to play that card." Carissa sighed defeated.

"Until you're immortal I'm not taking any chances." Hades shoved what she'll need into her overnight bag and picked it up. "Lets go."

With a sigh Carissa got up and followed him out of the Underworld.

"Hey, since I know how much you hate this how about we go to the festival and get you something?" Hades suggested trying to cheer her up.

"No, last thing I need is seeing a hundred Zeus heads staring at me." Carissa shivered at the thought.

"Right, that was stupid." Hades agreed before grinning. "How about your favorite dinner?"

"Sure dad." Carissa allowed him to teleport her to her favorite fast food restaurant but not even cheeseburgers, chili dogs, cheese fries and chocolate milkshakes could cheer her up on this miserable day.

"I'll be right back." Hades went to go order leaving her alone for just a moment.

"Carissa?"

Carissa looked over to see Hercules was standing by her. "What do you want Jercules."

"Sorry, but you look sad."

"I am."

"Why? It's Typhon Smiten Day. The best day of the year. The day my dad defeated that monster."

"That's why I hate it. Typhon was my Godfather."

Hercules dropped the scroll he was holding and stared at Carissa with wide eyes. "What?!"

"He wasn't as bad as you think he was Herc. He was funny, he loved his wife, and he treated me just fine. Your father is the monster." Carissa got in his face and flamed up. "Typhon's children miss him, his wife cries all the time, I miss him because he and my dad are great friends. And what the heck is this?" Carissa grabbed the scroll Hercules had and read it. "With a dad like you I can not lose. You're right up there the mighty Zeus. Happy Typhon Smiten Day from your loving son."

Carissa flamed up all over again. "I hate you Herc and I REALLY hate your arrogant, annoying, brainless, lying and selfish idiot father!" Carissa threw Herc's scroll back at him and went back to her own father.

Hades just grabbed their food before he felt arms wrap around his waist. "Missed me already princess?" Hades smirked knowing full well who it is.

"When will you be back?"

"ASAP" He assured her.

After they ate Hades dropped her off at Echidnas for the night.

"Thanks for this Echidna, no one will dare try to take her with you around." Hades thanked the mother of all monsters.

"Of course Hades, Carissa is part of the family." Echidna tried to smile but she couldn't and Carissa knew it was because this was the day she lost her soul mate and the father of all her children.

Hades kissed Carissa's forehead. "I know I don't have to remind you to behave yourself."

Carissa nods and gave him a big hug and kiss on the cheek. "Love ya daddy."

"Love ya too kid." With that he left.

Later that night Carissa groaned to the sound of Echidna's annoying baby monster Laden who woke up crying at the crack of dawn.

Carissa watched as Echidna tried to get him back to sleep, she wondered what her dad did to her when she was that young.

"I'm so tired of hearing about your daddy's defeat." Echidna said to him as she tucked him back in his bed.

"Daddy? Who that?" Laden asked.

Carissa felt bad for Laden. All of his brothers and sisters know who their father is but he wasn't even born yet when Typhon got crushed by a mountain.

"His name was Typhon sweetie, he was the most fearsome monster there ever was."

Carissa chuckled hearing that. She remembered his funny voice that made him less scary.

"Until that nasty old Zeus buried him!" Echidna growled.

Carissa sighed as she thought about today with Hercules, sure she meant every word but now she wished she had something to give to her dad. She doubt a poem would explain how much he means to her. Everyone said he's evil but she always sees the other side of him. She knows what he wants most but she can't get rid of Zeus easy... Carissa's eyes widened getting an idea.

She waited until Echidna went back to bed before she got up and headed back to Athens.

The Muses looked to see Carissa head for the festival. "She had a plan to shake things up and that's the gospel truth."

Carissa made herself look like Cassandra when she found Herc. "You know, you got some pretty big sandals to fill."

"What do you mean?" Hercules asked.

"Most people who go into the family business doesn't have to follow someone like Zeus."

Carissa quickly left before Icarus saw her and decided to enjoy the show in the shadow. It turned out way better than she thought. Zeus gave him a thunderbolt and Hercules destroyed Olympus. She was worried for her dad but he was just fine. "THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T BRING MY KID!!" Hades shouted.

She really wanted to run up to him but she wasn't done making Hercules and Zeus look like fools just yet.

She figured she was going to be in big trouble but it's worth it cause now Echidna showed up.

"What is she doing here?!" Hades yelled now freaking out.

Carissa watched Echidna destroy the festival after she put Laden down. Just like she planned Hercules tried to fight her.

"Come on Herc, screw up like always." Carissa grinned to herself.

Didn't take long before Herc grabbed a Ferris wheel. Missed Echidna and hit the mountain that held Typhon prisoner.

"YES!" Carissa cheered as the father of all monsters himself emerged from his prison roaring in fury and breathing fire.

"Man I got the mother of all headaches." He complained holding his head.

Echidna flew over to him. "Don't worry, I'll make it all better."

Carissa smiled big watching her two favorite monsters reunite.

"Echinda?" Typhon and Echinda hugged and kissed. "What's happened?"

"The big battle." Echinda reminded him.

"That's right, I was concurring the world minding my own business when ZEUS THREW A MOUNTAIN ON ME!" Typhon breathed fire till Hercules flew up to him on Pegasus.

"As a hero in training, I insist you return to your prison." Hercules tried sounding tough but failed.

"Oh honey those horseflies are big this year." Typhon said to Echidna.

"I'm, I'm not a fly!" Hercules shouted outraged. "I'm Hercules son of Zeus."

"Your stupidity shows it Jercules." Carissa chuckled.

"Perfect." Typhon glared at Herc. "You go tell papa I'm on my way for a rematch!" With that he just flicked Hercules away.

"This is better than I ever hoped." Carissa cheered to herself.

"How about a nice homecooked meal before you beat Zeus sweetums?" Echinda asked.

Typhon sees Laden and picks him out. "This snack should tied me over."

"NO TYPHON!" Echinda quickly took her baby from him. "That's your son! That's Laden."

"So?" Typhon asked.

"Dada." Laden cooed as he kissed Typhon's cheek and gave him a big smile.

"He does have my fangs." Typhon grinned.

"We're a happy family again, come on boys lets go destroy something." Echidna suggested.

"Not something, someone!" Typhon grinned. "Mr. Olympian ego, Mr Top God, Mr Hotshot! DON'T GET ME STARTED! I CAN'T CALM DOWN!"

"Good." Carissa grinned. "Hopefully this time the monsters win."

"Wait! I still need to find Carissa!" Echidna gasped.

"Carissa?" Typhon stopped his ranting and looked at her. "What do you mean find her?"

"I was babysitting her and she suddenly disappeared." Echidna explained.

Carissa blushed. "Did she have to use the word babysitting?"

"Well lets find her!" Typhon roared picking up a building. "I'll find my beloved Goddaughter even if I have to destroy everything in Greece!"

"Stop right there Typhon!" Zeus shouted as he and Hercules fly over on Zeus's cloud. "Put down those innocent Athenians."

"Give me a break they're lawyers." Typhon scoffed as he points to the law office he was holding.

"Well... Put them down anyway." Zeus insisted. "You know they give you gas."

"Oh yeah, ya got me there." Typhon agreed throwing the building over his shoulder.

Carissa had a very unamused look. "A little less conversation and more revenge on Zeus please."

"Come on baby, daddy's gotta work now." Echidna said to Laden as she pulled him away to safety.

"It's time for me to put you back under your rock!" Zeus said to Typhon holding up a thunderbolt.

Typhon simply flicked him away. "Who's smiten who now?" Typhon starts beating Zeus into the ground a few times. "Enough tenderizing time to feast."

"Yes!" Carissa cheered until Zeus got free.

Carissa watched the battle go, Typhon got a hold of a thunderbolt and was about to stab Zeus with it only for a different thunderbolt to fly over and get Typhon right in the nose.

"What the?" Carissa looked over to see her aunt Hera was the one that threw it.

"Nice shot." Hercules told his mother.

"I had practice, except last time it went up his other nostril."

"Last time?" Carissa gasped.

"Last time?" Hercules asked.

"Last time?!" Echidna shouted outraged. "TIME OUT! It was two against one? This time I'll help even the odds."

"Whoa hold on now!" Carissa stepped out of the shadows.

"Carissa?" Everyone gasped seeing her.

"Carissa where were you? You had me worried sick." Echidna scolded her.

"I was here the whole time." Carissa answered glaring at everyone. "And this time the fight will end peacefully and truthfully."

Carissa went over to Typhon and kissed his aching nose. "Good to see you again Typhon."

Typhon smiled happy to see her. "I have missed you my goddaughter."

"What?!" Zeus shouted.

"Yes uncle Zeus, Typhon is my godfather." Carissa glared at Zeus. "And I am going to set history straight. Echidna tell my father when he appears that I will be home in about an hour." With that she walked away.

When she returned home she saw her dad in the throne room pacing. "Ok Carissa what was your reason for giving me a heart attack this time?" Hades asked.

Carissa showed him the news scroll. "Zeus exposed the Typhon Smiten day is all a lie. All history books about the battle have been rewritten and Zeus shammed. From this day on this day has a new name."

Carissa smiled as he read the story then looked at her. "Did you do all this for me?"

"Happy Fathers Day daddy.''
