Big Sink

Carissa had a great summer, with Hercules being a furry animal and that stupid prince not annoying, or Icarus grossing her out, things were better for her and her dad until it was the last day of summer when Herc, Adonis, and Icarus turned back

"Hey, we're us again." Herc cheered.

"Why? How'd the spell break?" Cassandra asked.

"Well.. Carissa said she wanted to get back at me for ruining her summer... so the spell wore off at the end of summer!"

"I am going to sue that dreadful girl for all she's got!" Adonis shouted.

"Oh yeah, go against the daughter of the lord of the dead, real high chance you winning there Adonis" Cassandra rolled her eyes.

Herc agreed. "Her dad is Hades and he'll fry you before you can even say a word to my cousin."

Meanwhile Carissa knew she was being a spoiled brat but she refuses to give up. "I DON'T WANT TO!!"

Hades rubbed his temples as he watches his usually obedient daughter refuse to get out of bed. "Kid, you have school tomorrow."

"I'M SICK OF SCHOOL! THE TEACHERS ARE IDIOTS! THE STUDENTS SUCK AND I HAVE TO GET UP AT A STUPID TIME TO DO SOMETHING I HATE!!"

"Kid lower your voice." Hades sighed patiently. "Look, I know I'm asking a lot of you, but can't you just suck it up for another year?"

"No."

"Oh come on! There's gotta be something you want!" Hades flamed up losing his cool.

"Nope." Carissa honestly thought she had everything. A kingdom, powers, a loving father, two minions that entertain her, and a puppy, not to mention two more birthdays and she's a goddess princess forever.

Hades sighed as he sat on the edge of the bed not knowing what to do until he got an idea. "Ok then, I guess that I'll just lock you up in here for the whole school year."

Carissa gave her dad a confused look. "Lock me up?"

"Well honey if I can't trust you to be responsible enough to go to school like everyone at your age does how can I trust you to be alone in the big scary Underworld while I'm working? I don't have time to home school you."

"But I've been here my whole life, I know where to go and where not to go."

"Well if you're in school I wouldn't have to worry so much since no one can take you when you're surrounded by kids."

"YOU ONLY WANT ME TO GO SO I CAN SPY ON JERCULES!!" Carissa shouted now on full flame as she jumped out of bed and stomped out of her room. "I'M NOT YOUR MINION! I'M YOUR DAUGHTER SO STOP THIS WHOLE SPYING THING!!"

Now Hades was mad. "I'M YOUR FATHER YOU WILL DO WHAT I SAY! DON'T FORGET YOU OWE ME YOUR LIFE!"

"OH SURE ALWAYS PLAY THAT CARD!"

"YOU ARE GOING TO SCHOOL TOMORROW AND THAT'S IT, YOU'RE GOING TO SPY ON JERCULES AND DO EVERYTHING I SAY YOU UNGRATEFUL BRAT!"

"I HATE YOU!!"

Now the two both stared at each other in horror before Carissa turned and ran out of the underworld leaving Hades wide eyed and frozen with a very unfamiliar pain in his chest.

Carissa ran until she couldn't breathe anymore, tears clouded her vision as she dropped on the side of the building. "Oh daddy." She cried not believing she said that. She knew he was right, she did owe him her life, he wanted her to rule by his side for all eternity so he made her immortal, she's seen how bad he can be with the imps but he was never that way with her, ever. "He's right, I am an ungrateful brat." Carissa cried for what seemed like hours til she had no more tears to spill anymore. She was a mess, she just wanted to run back to her dad and beg for forgiveness until she saw Herc and his friends heading over to a boat.

Carissa quickly turned in Kareena. "I won't let you down again dad." With that she ran over. "Hey guys."

"Kareena! Where were you all summer?" Herc asked happy to see her.

"My dad took me on a summer trip, where are you guys going?"

"To Atlantis, wanna come?"

"Sure, I got nothing better to do." With that she got on the boat with them.

Carissa had to suffer a short boat ride with Icarus blabbing on to her about him being a platypus.

"I'm really sorry about my cousin, I know she can be a bit much but I know she's not a bad person even though she was raised by Hades."

"What's that suppose to mean?" Carissa asked trying not to sound offended.

"Well he is evil and all and probably doesn't treat her right."

Before Carissa could slap the stupid out of him the boat landed and everyone got out. Carissa took a deep breath. "Do it for daddy. You really screwed up." With that she followed them to the boardwalk thinking of how she was going to convince her dad that saying she hates him was the biggest lie in history?

"Hey look! Atlantis city underwater!" Herc laughed as he shook a snow globe. "With snow!" He laughed some more. "You can only get this stuff here."

"Super cool! A must have!" Icarus took the snow globe out of his hands.

Herc noticed the gloomy look on Cassandra's face and the unreadable look on Kareena's "Oh come on girls, even you two can't not be excited to be in Atlantis City."

"I'm not really in the mood Herc." Carissa sighed and walked off.

"I'll talk to her." Cassandra hurried over to her. "Hey, you ok?"

"I got into a fight with my dad today, he told me something I really didn't want to hear and I told him I hate him."

"Oh." Cassandra frowned more. "Well, everyone tells their parents they hate them but they know it's not true."

"Dad and I never ever fight. He's the best dad in the world and I go and do that to him."

"Well you know when my parents found out I could only see horrible things they turned into how they are now. Always smiling and acting like everything is perfect because they thought they were protecting me, but I told them I hated them for it, yet they didn't change. Trust me, I've seen the way you and your dad are as soon as he sees you he's going to welcome you back with open arms."

"I hope you're right." Carissa sighed. "I really screwed up."

"I feel the same way every time I tell someone about my vision of disasters."

Suddenly a news reporter was all up in Cassandra's face. "I heard you have a tip about an upcoming disaster?"

"I don't foresee anything at the moment."

"Too bad.. you have a puppy?"

"What?"

"Cute animals and disasters, that's what sells papers."

"Hey!" Icarus ran over to them. "I got us tickets to the centaur diving show."

Cassanda then froze and said. "Those tickets will be worthless."

"A vision?" The reporter asked Carissa who nodded.

They all suddenly heard screaming and centaur crashed though the boardwalk badly hurt.

Cassandra then got another one. "I see tourists trapped in a giant hole."

"Well they should have stuck to their vacation budget." Icarus shrugged before a group of tourists all fell down into the giant hole the centaur made.

Carissa was getting irritated as the reported followed Cassandra everywhere, out of all the mortals she was the one she could stand the most. He would write down every vision she had and now everyone was surrounding her begging her for more disasters.

Carissa watched Cassandra soaking up all the attention just happy that people other than her friends believe her. However it was also putting her under a lot a pressure.

"Give me something big! Something for the front page! Don't let your public down." The reporter pushed.

"Hey pal back off! She can't just turn her powers on and off like that." Carissa snapped at him.

"Atlantis underwater! I see Atlantis underwater!" Cassandra finally said. "Atlantis is going to sink."

"It is?" Carissa gasped. "I gotta get home!"

She turned to run but Herc stopped her. "Wait a minute, Cassandra how come your eyes didn't do that... vision thing?"

"They wanted something big."

"Wait? You mean you just made it up?" Carissa asked. "Cassandra, you lied to the press."

"Slow vision day, besides no one believes whats in the Greek news anyway." Cassandra waved it off. "What could happen?"

Suddenly a paper was thrown right into Icarus's face saying everyone is now abandoning Atlantis

"What could happen?" Herc glared while holding up the paper to her.

Cassandra nervously chuckled. "I didn't foresee a problem."

Meanwhile the owner of Atlantis Croesus was not happy with what was happening to his city. "My town is empty and my check book is emptier, thanks to that predictor, I need to make natural causes. To do that I'm going to need a cooperative God..." He then smirks. "YO! HADES! Beseeching Hades!"

"Name is Hades, blah blah blah.." Hades said very upset before he saw who it was. "Oh it's you." Hades rolled his eyes as he looked down at the view sighing. "Carissa would have loved this view."

"Look Hades my man." Croesus put his arm around Hades shoulder which just made the God angry. No one touches him except Carissa and he flamed up getting the message through which sent Croesus running to the ocean and back. "Hades, I need to book a cruise on the river styx for somebody, how much is that gonna cost?"

Hades rolled his eyes annoyed wanting to go back home and figure out a way to get his kid back. "Just gotta pay the boatman, bata boom."

"Well this person is not currently ill."

"Whoa, excuse me, time out." Hades said slowly getting even more impatient with this guy. "Are you saying what I think you're saying? I am a God, not a hit-man. My services cant be bought!" He flamed up.

Croesus just wrote a check before giving it to him.

Hades took a look at it. "Is that a decimal point?"

"No that's a comma."

"Comma?" Hades widened his eyes at the amount then sighed. "That is a lot of zeros but my problem isn't money, are you forgetting I'm also the God of Wealth? My problem can't be solved with money."

"Money can solve any problem."

Hades sighed. "Not this one."

"Sure it can, what is it?"

"My daughter." Hades admitted.

"Well buy the girl whatever she needs."

"She's upset with me and after what I said to her I can't blame her. Unless this check can change the past it's useless to me."

"Why don't you keep the check and take that delightful girl on a vacation."

"Vacation?" Hades thought about it. "Well she always did say I was working too much... yeah... YEAH A VACATION!" He put the check away and turned to him. "You just earned two of my best hence man. PAIN! PANIC!!"

Pain appeared fine but Panic got stuck in the rug making Hades pull him out.

"I'm loaning you out boys, make the old man proud meanwhile I'm going to go make a killing in the stock market and hire a travel agent, bada boom I'm gone." With that he was gone.

"Hi I'm Panic and this is Pain, we'll be your minions today." Panic introduced.

"What evil can we inflict for you?" Pain asked.

"There will be someone on the Merv Griffin show, make sure she's a no show."

Carissa thought this day was worse than when she got kidnapped by the witch that took her powers. She didn't know how to face her dad and now she was stuck on in a seat for a talk show who was going to interview Cassandra. Carissa got up from her seat and walked towards the boat knowing she shouldn't wait anymore. She has to see if her father will forgive or disown her. That is until she saw Pain and Panic run the other way with Cassandra blinded and gagged.

"Pain? Panic?" She looked around before turning into her normal form before following them since the imps usually mean her dad. However they didn't bring her to her dad, they brought her to the owner of Atlantis. Carissa stayed out of sight.

"So what's it going to cost to shut you up?" Croesus asked Cassandra ready to write another check.

"Nothing." Cassandra said.

"Oh come on, everyone has a price." Croesus pushed.

"No, really nothing." Cassandra assured. "I made it up, Atlantis isn't going to sink."

"WHAT?!" Croesus dropped his check book. "I bribed a major God and the fates for nothing?"

"Major God? The fates?" Carissa whispered to herself.

"Is it too late to stop payments on the checks?" Cassandra asked.

"One of them was to Hades." Croesus admitted making Carissa gasp quietly to herself.

"Hades? The God of Wealth? How did you convince him?" Cassandra asked.

"Something about his daughter being upset." Croesus shrugged. "Talked him into getting a vacation, said he wanted her to forgive him or something like that."

Carissa's eyes widen more. "He wants me to forgive him? But I'm the one the screwed up."

"I demand a full confession." Croesus said to Cassandra.

"Oh you want her to talk!" Panic jumped in. "Well that brings up all kinds of torture possibilities."

"But she already confessed." Pain reminded him. "Seems kinda backwards."

"These temp jobs have no perks." Panic complained. "We should be out looking for the princess."

"Yeah, she could be hurt!" Pain agreed just as worried.

"How about a public confession?" Cassandra suggested.

"Yeah that's it! A public confession! I'll call the press immediately." Croesus agreed.

However during the press conference Cassandra had a real vision that Atlantis really was going to sink making Croesus tell the minions to throw and torture her in the dungeon.

"Oh no." Carissa said now very worried. For one she had to get off this island before it sinks and she's still on it, she needs to tell her dad she's sorry, and get her minions out of there. However Hercules showed up pounding on the front door demanding he releases Cassandra.

"A hero in training? Wonder what this is going to cost me...."

Of course that idiot hired her uncle Poseidon to give him his deadliest sea monster.

"NO NO NO NO!!" Carissa finally made herself known. "STOP YOU IDIOT! HERCULES IS A KLUTZ!"

Of course she was too late. Hercules already threw the giant monster into the penthouse she was in and the crash made the land start to fall apart. The city really was sinking now.

"MY IMPS!" Carissa screamed as she tried to find the dungeon to warn the two and get Cassandra out of here. "Boys! Where are you?!" However she didn't make it far before the place flooded with water and the strong current washed her away.

"Atlantis is sinking?" Croesus gasped. "I'll be all washed up! Where's my check book?! Beseeching all Gods!"

Hades then appeared with his flame all red as he looked around.

"Hades just the God I needed."

"Hey look, I'm not here for you, my kid is still missing and I want my minions back. PAIN PANIC!" Hades shouted clearly angry yet worried sick.

"But I need your help man, I need your help, I'll pay anything." Croesus begged.

"Sorry babe, your check bounced it seems your bank went under." Hades threw the soaking wet bad check at him. "And by the looks of things so will you in about ten minutes, oh yeah you're a bad swimmer. Make that five."

Carissa started to get pushed out of the place til she caught the sight of fire that she'd know anywhere. "DAD!" She managed to scream before the sea water filled her mouth and pushed her more.

Hades flame died down a little as he looked towards to where he just heard his daughter's panicked voice in time to see the top of her head before it went under completely. "CARISSA!!!"

The imps both screamed before they turned into fish and went after her before turning into dolphins and bringing her up to the closest land.

"HELP!" The imps screamed as they turned back and laid their princess down into the land. "OUR PRINCESS ISN'T MOVING!"

Hades appeared next to her. "CARISSA!" Hades gently grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a small shook. "No no no! NO! DON'T DO THIS! Carissa please! I'm sorry!"

"Move!" Cassandra pushed him a little and quickly started doing compression on Carissa's chest counting out loud. "One, two, three.." By the time she made it to 15 Carissa moved a little before she coughed up a lot of water.

"Carissa." Hades said relieved.

Carissa turned getting more water out of her lungs before she looked up. "DAD!" Not wasting anymore time she jumped on to Hades giving him the biggest hug she could give. "Daddy I'm so sorry! I don't hate you! I never did!" She cried into his shoulder.

"I know, I'm sorry to, you are far from a brat. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and you're more than perfect to me." Hades hugged back. "Don't ever scare me like this again."

"I love you so much." Carissa sobbed.

"I love you just as much, don't ever leave me." Hades also felt the tears coming.

No one dared interrupt the father daughter moment.
