Chapter 17 -A memory that shouldnt exist-
"U-um guys?" I said, trying to intervene. They didn't seem to hear me and kept yelling at each other, I wonder if this is how they act towards each other normally. After a moment of trying to get them to calm down I sighed. It started to remind me of something, something I kept in the back of my mind where I kept most things I didn't want to talk about. I finally snapped. "Will you please just shut up?!" I yelled, my voice echoed through the hallway. They all stopped and looked to me as I started to become slightly more emotional. I started to remember one of the memories from the back of my mind. Before they could say anything I bolted down the stairs. I didn't notice how time slowed down, only slightly this time, at the moment and slammed open the front door.
I ran outside, not caring where I was going. I just wanted to be alone. I heard yells behind me as I ran down the side of the road, I didn't look behind me as I sprinted away. To my left I saw that there was a forest. I couldn't tell how big it was but I darted in between the trees and looked behind me. Since I was going so fast I guess they couldn't see me change direction. Slowing down, I sighed. I felt something fall onto my cheek and lifted my hand up to see what is was. It was water. I realized that I was doing something I haven't done in a long time, I was crying. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sudden rush of emotions I sat down, leaning against a tree.
I felt more hot tears fall down my face and onto the palms of my hands. I forced myself to hold in all the sounds I wanted to make. I silently cried into my arms for a moment. I started to remember what caused me to break down like this. It was an old memory, from my childhood. As I recalled the scenario I looked up from my sleeves. I was taken by surprise as something started to glow in front of me, I was pretty sure that I was hallucinating.
"Mommy...? Daddy...?" A child called out softly. They were obviously very young, only old enough to walk and talk. They stood in a dark hallway that connected two doors. She walked over to one of the doors and opened it slightly, peering through the crack. A sliver of light fell into the hallway as voices came through the door."That is not my child! This is your responsibility!" "You're the one that wanted to bang!" Two voices, one male and one female. For some reason they sounded young. "Babe my family won't let me because I'm so young! You have to help me so they can have-" "Don't 'Babe' me! It's over! Do whatever you want with the kid!" "B-but what about the promise...?" The man paused at what the girl said. "Don't try to contact me, it's not my child." Quiet sobbing could be heard from the doorway as the man started to walk towards the front door. The child that was looking in from the hallway seemed understandably confused. "Why is Daddy leaving? What's Mommy gonna do now?"
The child and the hallway started to fade away. I saw the entire scene turn into specks of light before my eyes. Still in a state of shock I wiped away my tears and took a deep breath, calming myself down slightly. I looked up through the branches at the stars. What just happened? It was so familiar but so painful to watch. Before I could let my mind wander, as it usually did, I heard the sound of leaves crunching and two voices. It was coming from behind me so I pressed myself against the tree and stayed as still as I could . "-yeah, they just jumped out it was crazy." "Oh hold bro I just got a text." The people started to get closer. I stood still as I overheard them talk. "Bro Wait- Indonesia just texted me and asked if I've seen (Y/N), she's gone missing." "Oh wait really?! Well she couldn't have gone far, we live near the ASEAN house anyway!" They both seemed worried. I wonder who they are. Indonesia texted them so it was most likey two countries.
As I was about to slowly move away I heard the two get closer. I quietly stood up, trying to avoid anything that would make too much noise, and slowly started to step back. As I almost edged away I stumbled and stepped on a pile of leaves. "What- Wait (Y/N)?!" One country said, running into my view. I turned and was about to sprint off again when I was suddenly knocked to the ground. "I got er!" Struggling, I tried to use my strength to pry him off. For some reason I couldn't seem to push the country away. Maybe there was more to this inhuman strength than I though.
"Aussi she's not a wild animal!" "Bro she was about to run away!" I looked over and saw New Zealand in the moonlight while Australia was holding me down. "Could you let me go?" I said in a quiet voice. Both countries looked at me. I felt Australia get up and drag me up with him. He held me by the arm, making sure I couldn't get away. "Why did you run?" I kept my mouth shut and looked away. The siblings looked at each other. They silently decided that they would drop the subject and take me back to ASEAN's house.
They dragged me through the woods, not saying a word for a bit. "You know that everyone is probably freaking out right now right?" Australia said, glancing at me. "Sorry..." "Oh don't be- I didn't mean- I-I mean that we all care about you. Don't go running off again because we don't want anything bad to happen." He looked away for some reason and I saw New Zealand frown a little. "Aussie is just trying to say that we care and don't doubt that for a second." I looked over at him and smiled. I nodded at him, worried that if I talked anymore I might say too much. New Zealand also turned away suddenly after looking at me. Both of them seemed flustered for some reason.
We finally exit the woods and as we walk towards the house I hear a chorus of yells.
"(Y/N)!"
