Rules of Succession

Trigger warning: This headcanon would mention death , please read with caution.
Reminder: Please read first, What happens if you die (Countryhumans edition) before proceeding with this one.

"And therefore,
I name,
*Insert name*
As the my heir and successor. "
-Idk a random thing that was made up in my head

Headcanon: Rules of succession for leaders would be different per country because of tradition and custom but over all would have the same idea and points in some way.

•Who would be heir to the position?
- Well it's usually the first born child of the country. But, it can change depending on the Parent's will. Though, it's usually the first born that gets it.

• Does it necessary for the first born to be male to be considered as heir?
- I guess it depends on the traditions or customs or the country and the will they have written.

• What if you have no sons and you only have a daughter ?
-In case of no sons, daughters could be used unless stated by the will that the leader doesn't want it to happen.

How do they name their heirs?
- Tradition
- Custom
- Their will
- These three greatly affect how the heir naming of the leader would be.

• Does the public know who the heir would be ?
- No. No they won't until the leader passes away. In the What happens if you die (Countryhumans edition), it says this,
" Third, after the funeral. The will of the said now deceased leader would be read to the public.
Fourth, his or her heir to the position of leader would immediately have to be declared as one after the reading of the will to the public. "

• What if the country doesn't have children?
- Well, if that is the case, the position would immediately passed down to their relatives.

• This is how the succession order would go;
-  Usually Their first  child (unless the child is seen "unfit" or not the heir to rule, according to the will of the parent or had joined the military or something or had died at a young age)
- Any younger siblings if they have more than one child
- Personal flag leaders (I'll explain this soon enough )
- Capital of the country
- The first province or state that the capital encompasses.
- Other provinces

• What if they have no more heirs have left?
- That's when the government steps in . What the government does is that , they will be the leaders (At least until they could find one)

What if they couldn't find one ?
- Nah! That's nearly Impossible , you either will start anew with someone else or You'll have to track down the family line of the leader TO ATLEAST FIND ANY LIVING MEMBERS WHO CAN TAKE THE POSITION!

• What if there is a war on succession?
- Wars of succession don't really happen often but on the chances it did, usually whoever wins it gets to the next leader .

• How would the ceremony for the new leader would be held?
- Well well...it depends. But, we know for sure that it has to happen after the will has been read out to the public.

• If the heir is still young when their parents died, could they have a regent to rule over until they are old enough?
- Aging in terms of Countryhumans is much more different from how a normal human ages. So , it depends I guess ?

A/N: Hello everyone I am back! This is the headcanon that kinda follows along the last one because I was wondering, "Hey If the former one dies, who goes next? Are there any rules?" So,I made a headcanon about it. I kinda tried to mix elements of a monarchy and how does the will greatly affects who gets to be the heir so that's why it's really messy and kinda confusing. I'm really sorry, I'll try to ...make them more clearer to understand. (My stupid brain is making ideas that I couldn't place them properly grrrr )

Please be reminded that this is my opinion , please don't bully me for that. Disagree? Okay that's fine we all have opinions but straight up bullying me because of it is a big no no.

I

f you have questions about this headcanon, feel free to ask me and I'll try to answer them.

That will be all.
