"Promise me you'll be nice to your mother..." my dad croaks. I sob, I don't want to be nice to the woman that abandoned me when I was born,

"Dad please don't go!" I sniffle, and hold his hand,

"Promise me." I nod my head,

"Of course dad, I promise." he smiles, a loud heartbreaking cough ripples through the hospital room,

"I love you Lilly-bear. Always remember that. Be kind, and be yourself."

"I love you-" his eyes roll back into his head, I repress a sob, "Too..." I hug him and a bunch of doctors run in yelling incoherent doctor-speech, I don't understand,

"Hunny, I'm sorry but you have to leave." One of the doctors says and I nod my head, getting into my Uber, the last thing my dad bought me before he died.

Let me just say Mystic, Connecticut is quite different than New York, New York.

Mystic is a small town right on the ocean, with a bunch of quaint little restaurants and other little shops and stuff. My Uber is being my personal tour guide as we make our way to my long lost mothers house. I'm not really listening though, I'm thinking about what my mother will be like or what other family members I have I had no idea about.

Before my dad... it was just me and him. He would go to work in the morning as I left for school and got home as I got back, he would spend every moment with me; when he got cancer I knew that was going to change.

He spent more and more time at the hospital and then eventually he wasn't home to say goodnight or good morning, I would visit him at the hospital after school and he would give me money for food.

Then one day, he got me a plane ticket and told me to go to Mystic with my mother and her family. I didn't have the heart to argue with him, so I unwillingly said I would go and never fought him about it once.

I left all my old friends, and even boyfriend; ex boyfriend now.

"And we are here." my Uber driver says and I nod my head and politely say thank you. "Of course Darlin', any time."

I stare at the outside of my future living space. There is a front porch with a little swing, a tree house to the right. It's quite a large house, three or four stories at least. I wonder how many kids there are...

"Lilly!" I hear a high pitched someone shout and a little child runs in and hugs me around the waist. She is short, I'm assuming around the age of six or seven,

"Um... hi?" I stumble and a woman walks into the room,

"Lilly dear, nice to finally meet you." She says and I have no idea how to respond,

"Nice... nice to meet you too..." I stutter because I have no idea what the hell is going on.

"I'm your mother, Laura, hun. This is your little sister, Charlie." she says and the little girl looks up at me,

"Hi, Charlie." I smile and the little girl smiles from ear to ear back at me.

"Is she here?" I hear get asked from the other room,

"Of course she is here who else could it be?" Someone else asks and two girls walk into the entryway,

"That's Brandy and that's Andy. They are twins and just a year younger than you," a year...

"Nice to meet both of you,"

"Is she hot?" I hear a voice crack from the same room Brandy and Andy came out of,

"And that's Kendal, your last sibling." a young boy, probably twelve comes out from the other room and shakes my hand,

"Kendal Sharks." Sharks? What kind of name is that?

"Robert hunny, come into the other room and meet your step daughter!" Laura says and a man steps into the entryway,

"Hello dear," he greets. He kinda gives me a weird vibe but I quickly shake it off they all seem so nice.

"Nice to meet you all, I hope it'll be a pleasure getting to know you all for the next couple of years." I greet and they all nod and smile, why are they so perfect? It makes it hard to hate then.

"A pleasure indeed." Robert says and I just smile at him trying to push out any weirdness he has in my brain,

"Lilly, would you like food?" Laura asks and my head perks up,

"Food?" Make it harder why don't ya?

"Yes I made chocolate chip cookies..."

"Of course!" Please be burnt... I take a bite, oh God! This woman is an angel in disguise!

"I'll take you up to your room!" Little Charlie says and I nod my head as she grabs my hand, "yours is on the fifth floor. Five floors? "You actually have the floor to yourself, your own bathroom and everything. Before you moved in, Brandy and Andy were supposed to have this room but then we found out you could come, and well... mommy and daddy just want you to love them." She looks at me her blue eyes gleaming,

"Do you like them at least?"

"Of course. They seem like very nice people," Charlie gives me her classic angelic smile and opens the door, it takes everything in me not to gasp out loud.

The room is beautiful with gorgeous white framing on the door and a crown around all of the walls. The room is painted blue, but a pale blue as if the sky and clouds mixed and made this color. The bed is a huge king size with bed side tables,

"Mommy said you can buy more decorations later. She didn't know if you liked posters like The Dee Twins so she left the walls blank. She also bought you a dress for the dance coming up at school... that is if you want it." She said and I nod and say thank you,

"Tell mommy I said thank you for everything, and the room is beautiful." I said and she nods, she waves me goodbye and walks out the door; shutting it behind her.

Holy shiz I don't know how much more I could take...
