Zero (old)

The day was boring for Izuku. Besides the stunt he pulled with Aizawa, nothing else happened out of the normal. Monoma was being Monoma and throwing things at Izuku if he got annoyed too much. Shinso wasn't seen until halfway through the day because he ended up forgetting he was at work--that or he didn't feel like getting off the lockers.

Izuku sighed as he put his hat back in his locker. What he really wanted to do tight now was bang his head on the wall.

A boring day is torture to the poor kid.

Shinso looked over at Midoriya from his seat in the lounge. Lifting a hot cup of coffee to his lips, he comments on the boy.

"You look like you need a coffee."

Izuku closed his locker and turned around with a deadpan look. "I think I'm gonna need more than a singular coffee."

Shinso shrugs as he watches Midoriya leave the employees lounge. It was Shinso's night to lock up, meaning he stayed until he finished his mug, cleaned it, and then made himself another coffee in a portable cup for the ride home.

. . . . . . . . . . .

Izuku was running across buildings. It had been a relatively silent night. Nothing big was happening, just small, petty crimes.

He had already stopped two assaults and three robberies, to which he had easily taken down the bad guys and left a note stating their crimes for the police.

He stopped dead in his tracks as he hears someone crying down an alleyway he passed. Muffled sobs echoed faintly through the black sky.

He backtracked and ran to the roof overlooking the alleyway. A man was straddling a woman, his grubby left hand was cutting off the airway to her throat. And his right hand was under her clothes.

Izuku was disgusted, the man was either groping the woman or he was trying to see if he could steal something off her. He has a sneaking suspicion it's the former.

Izuku hops down from the roof and lands slightly behind the man. The pudgy man jumps in surprise and let's go of the woman, turning around. Midoriya wastes no time punching the man's throat, leaving him susceptible to more hits. The man stumbles back a few steps, clutching his throat, but Izuku isn't happy.

Izuku swings his leg around and kicks the man's stomach, aiming for the liver.

"Who the heck are you?" Screams the man, one hand holding his throat and the other his liver. His elevated voice caused the ground to vibrate softly. A rock ended up rolling a few inches. It's a cool, yet relatively weak quirk.

"I'm Zero." Izuku says, his black mask changing his voice to a glitching one.

"You're gonna die!" Yells the man again, anger seeping through his tone. Another rock moves away slightly.

"I know." Izuku deadpans.

The man's eyes widen and then turn into slits. He smirks at the boy and lines up a punch. He staggers as Izuku dodges, taking his arm and flipping the greasy man forward.

Izuku then looks at the victim who is silently sobbing in a fetal position in the corner of the alleyway.

Midoriya's heart stutters in sadness. That poor girl. No one deserves that.

Midoriya looks back to the man with a scowl, not that anyone can see it because of his mask covering his whole face. He kicks the man in the ribs out of anger. It wasn't a kick that was aimed to do any damage--Izuku wasn't stupid.

He didn't wanna go to jail for murder.

He had other things to do.

Izuku ties the man up with some rope off his belt. He mad sure the constrains were tight and then hit the man's pressure point so he went fully unconscious.

Out like a light.

Slowly, before he approaches the victim, he pulls a disposable phone out of his pocket.

He didn't want to scare her further if he walked up and reached in his pocket.

Slowly, with his hands far from his sides, in plain sight, he walks up the the girl.

As he gets closer, he can hear the silent cries get louder. She whimpers slightly when she hears him a few feet away.

"Hey." Comes the glitching voice. "I know that was scary and you definatly didn't deserve to have this happen to you, and I know you're not okay..." He trails off, not really good in the comforting department of life. "Do you need or want anything? Do you want to go to the hospital? Need a phone to call someone? A guard so you don't walk home alone tonight? A Hello-Kitty Bandaid? I mean I have some All Might ones as well as some Eraserhead and Scooby-Doo ones. I also just have colored ones if you want a bright orange or blue. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable--ack! Sorry, I'm not trying to make you feel obligated to take a band-aid! Oh gosh, I listed all the band-aids I had like you were a kid! Oh my gosh I didn't mean to make it sound like your a kid ma'am! I am so sorry, I know you're old--wait no! Not like that! I meant like legal! Oh gosh not legal, I'm the last person who should be talking about whats legal--"

Izuku gets cut off from his stressed out mumbling by a chuckle.

He looks at the woman as she laughs at his muttering. He smiles slightly, knowing that she will be okay. She wipes her tears and smiles at him, "For a vigilante, you sure are funny."

Izuku stands up from his crouched position, bowing and holding out a hand towards the woman.

"Thank you madam." He says in his glitchy voice as the girl takes his hand and stands up. She giggles at his antics.

Once up, the girl straightens her messy clothes and looks at all the dirt stains.

Izuku picks up the phone he had laid next to him and stood up straight again.

"Do you feel like you can stay here to be questioned by police? I want to make sure that they lock up this grubby old man." Izuku says, turning his head to said man who is sleeping.

"Yeah sure." The girl says, shifting her weight from leg to leg. He could tell she was anxious and still slightly frightened.

"Hey, I'll stay here until they come so you're not alone with him again." Izuku assures.

She smiles greatfully at Zero and nods. Izuku does a slight nod as well and dials the price station on his phone.

"Hello this is the police station, how may we help you?" Says a middle aged woman named Inamori Yuki.

"The alleyway down town between the abandoned shopping center and Jeanist's Agency. Thirteenth alleyway from the mall. Have a great night, Love."

He hears the receptionist laugh at their inside joke across the line. "Okay there Zero, I'll send some people your way."

"Good." Zero replies and hangs up.

He looks at the girl he saved, who is now sitting down and relying her laces to preoccupy herself.

Carefully, Izuku takes his note out of his pocket and writes down the offenses the man committed. He wants this pig in jail for a while.

"Hey, Zero?" The girl asks shyly.

"Yeah?" Izuku replies.

"Thank you. For saving me." She looks down at her tied laces, her eyes seemingly watery.

"Ah, it's no problemo." Izuku waved it off, "I'm just glad we stopped him in time."

Izuku spots faint flashing lights. Blue and red light up the dark night. "Well the cops are here finally, I better go. Stay safe, okay?" Izuku walks towards the man slightly and sets his note down.

The girl looks at him, "Okay. I'll stay safe."

Zero nods as the flashing gets brighter.

"Wait!" The girl calls out, as he jumps up the rooftop.

Izuku looks back down, cocking his head to the side in confusion.

"Why did you say that we stopped him? You're the one that stopped him and caught him." She shouts up.

Izuku glances around him to make sure they're both safe and he's not being surrounded by pros again.

"Its because I couldn't have done it without your help, you're an amazing person! A hero!"

That was the last she saw of Zero before he began jumping across rooftops. She looks down at her hands confused.

The police have reached the alleyway and run in to pick up the criminal. He's picked up, put in quirk-surpressing cuffs and hauled into a police car.

The girl takes use of none of this though. He brain is swirling a mile a minute and tears are starting to fill in her eyes.

"Even a quirkless girl can be a hero?" Her voice cracks as she whispers, and her tears fall on the dirty cement below her.

Unbeknownst to her, a pro hero was a few steps away from checking up on her and picking up Zero's note. And he had heard what the girl had whispered to herself.

Eraserhead looked up to the rooftops in the direction the girl was facing. He's telling a girl he just saved that she can be a hero? Even though he is a vigilante?

Eraserhead was getting a migraine from this vigilante, so instead he goes next to the girl to offer her company before the stress of the police station comes around.
